garden silhouette blended hot foil card

So the other week when I was playing with my new Stampin’ Hot Foil System I ended up with a sheet of Garden Silhouette regular hot foil and played with the blending brushes to color in this gorgeous silver edged floral design!

Measurements:
BASE: Berry Burst CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″, 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ strip,
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, 4″ x 5 1/4″scraps for
the reverse foiling and sentiment piece

I grabbed Berry Burst, Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green ink pads and three corresponding blending brushes and colored in the large blooms with Berry Burst, smaller blooms in Crushed Curry and the leaves in Granny Apple Green. I cut the layer down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and save on of the longer strips to decorate the inside.
I adhered the blended layer to the Berry Burst card base.
I adhered the 1/4″ strip across the card.
I blended the three ink colors over the sentiment piece – the sentiment comes from the Scalloped blooms stamp set.

I popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered it over the 1/4″ strip.

I tucked two of the extra reverse Garden Silhouette Hot foil cut outs from Fridays card under the sentiment for some added depth and dimension.
Here is the inside of the card.
I added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to coordinate with the silver foiling to finish off the card with a matching sparkle!

more color mondays – pretty peacock, blackberry bliss and granny apple green

Today’s More Color Mondays color challenge features Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss and Granny Apple Green. An unusual color combination but one that works perfectly with the gorgeous Valley in Bloom Designer Series Paper!

This fun fold Pop Up Easel card is a lovely way to display those gorgeous papers and images from the Lily of the Valley bundle.

Measurements:
BASE: Blackberry Bliss CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″
scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″
3 1/2″ x 7″, save the 1/4″ cut off for sentiment
decoration
Pretty Peacock CS: scrap for die
DSP: (2) 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″, 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″,
3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White CS: 3 1/4″ square, 3/4″ x 3 1/4″,
scrap for die

Score base card at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″.
I used the Valley in Bloom DSP that has gorgeous Lily of the Valley around the perimeter of the DSP and I cut the paper in order so that the paper would line up with the bottom edge cut for the smaller bottom panel.

Adhere the DSP panels in order.

Die cut consecutive Spotlight on Nature dies with the smaller one in Basic White and the larger one in Pretty Peacock CS.

Make sure that the image will fit on the smaller circle.

Stamp the Lily of the Valley image and the sentiment in Hybrid Black ink.

Using a Blender Pen and ink color in the leaves of the image with Granny Apple Green ink.

Using a Blender Pen and ink color in the edges of the lilies in Blackberry Bliss ink.
Blend the edges of the Basic White circle die with a Blending Brush and Blackberry Bliss ink.
Pop up the Basic White circle die from the Spotlight on Nature die set on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the Pretty Peacock circle die.
Score the 3 1/2″ x 7″ cardstock in half and adhere the 3 1/4″ square of Basic White Cardstock to the inside panel.

Adhere the back of the smaller card to the largest panel of DSP with the open edge facing toward the smaller panels of DSP (bottom of the card)

I adhered a small slice of DSP to the right-hand side of the Basic White inside panel for perfect coordination.
I adhered the the B side of the DSP for the 3 1/4″ square face up for some contrast and a more subtle pattern under the sentiment focal piece.
Adhere the focal piece to the smaller card -the 3 1/2″ outside square.

Then stamp the easel piece the 3.4″ x 3 1/4″ Basic White piece in Granny Apple Green ink. I stamped the edge of a Lilly of the Valley leaf and colored with a Blender Pen. Stamp the inside sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink. Adhere a 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ strip above the sentiment piece, add Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the sentiment piece and adhere to the bottom panel of the card (I placed it on the DSP above the 1/8″ cardstock edge, so there is a cardstock edge above and below the sentiment piece when the easel is in place)

I added five Sunset Sparkle Sequins in the white iridescent color around both sentiment pieces.
Tuck the smaller card edge inside the sentiment bottom piece to make this easel card display.

One of the coolest things about being a demonstrator is the friendships we make not only with new friends and customers but with other demonstrators!

On August 8th, demonstrators have the opportunity to gather virtually for a day of learning and papercrafting. We also were able to pre-order an upcoming November Online Exclusive suite called Painted Collage.

It is a fun whimsical collage style set with very fun and different Designer Series Paper with Painted images and drawn lines. it is modern and funky and different from anything in our current inventory and I was excited to try and create with the Notes of Collage Bundle.

I made two cards today for you:

Card #1:
BASE: Lemon Lime Twist CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, 1/2″ and 3/4″ strips,
scraps for die

Card #2
BASE: Lemon Lime Twist CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, scraps for die
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, 1/2″ and 3/4″ strips,
scraps for die

For card #1 base I stamped the irregular whimsical circle image in Lemon Lime Twist ink all over the card front.
I used the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic white layer and stamped the large leafy sprig in Lemon Lime Twist ink twice (one for each card) and die cut them out.
On July 2nd I posted a card that had a sentiment piece that was blended with a blending brush and Lemon Lime Twist ink and then water splattered with a water painter and tapped against a bone folder to spray water droplets over the surface of the paper. The water droplets “lift” the ink off the paper and make lighter spots everywhere the water touches the card stock.

I used all of the extra paper from those cards and cut strips from the die negative pieces.

I placed them long edge to long edge and stamped the artistic flourish in Hybrid Black ink. Keep them in order and eventually adhere them to the card front.

Die cut the leaf sprig from the Notes of Collage die set in Basic WhIte cardstock and adhere to the left-hand side of the card front.
I adhered the black inked flourish image alternating height: top strip adhered directly to the card and then the next strip underneath the top one adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals – continuing to alternate every other strip – flat and popped up.
Take an extra strip and stamp a sentiment from the Notes of Collage stamp set in Hybrid Black ink and pop it up with STampin’ Dimensionals on the top left-hand side of the card front.

Adhere embellishments and this first card is complete!

For card #2 I embossed the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer with the 3D Fern & Flora embossing folder.

Adhere to the card front of card #2.

Adhere the leaf stamped die to the bottom right-hand side of the embossed layer and the strips to the upper left-hand corner.

Stamp a sentiment onto one of the extra strips and pop up on the bottom of the card.

Embellish and complete!

I saw a similar card the other day and loved it so this is my version I colored the dies a little differently than the sample I saw – I wanted to imitate the reflections of the sun on the water on the dies.

This Scenic Coast DSP is so gorgeous anything you do with it elevates the project to next level!

Measurements:
BASE: Strawberry Slush CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
DSP: 6″ x 6″
Basic white CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ for die cuts,
4″ x 5 1/4″
Crumb Cake CS: 2 1/2″ x 4′

Die cut the Rolling Waves water dies from the 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Basic White layer – two of the largest wave pieces, one of the starfish and shells and 1 each of the smaller foam wave pieces.
Cut the 6″ x 6″ DSP piece at 4″ and then again at 5 1/4″.
Place the larger die diagonally on the DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer with the foamy tendrils facing upwards and the top left hand edge at the horizon. Angle it downwards to where you can see a lot of the sunset reflections on the water and mark under the die on the DSP two points on either edge. (This will be your cut marks so make sure that the DSP will be long enough to be covered by the die.)
Cut the DSP on the diagonal from the high mark on the left hand edge to the lower mark on the right hand edge.
Adhere the diagonal cut DSP to the Strawberry Slush base card.
Cut a piece of Crumb Cake to fit in the lower portion of the card under the DSP diagonal cut.

Stamp the piece with the sand background stamp and the speckles stamp.

Adhere to the bottom of the card front.

Place the die pieces over the DSP and visually mark where the sunset colors would be reflected on the water and color the dies with Secret Sea on the outside edges and Strawberry Slush and Timid Tiger under the sunset reflections to continue that reflection into the water dies.
Adhere the dies on the diagonal over the sand and DSP.
Blend Strawberry Slush and Timid Tiger with blending brushes over the shells and starfish dies and adhere in the foam and seaspray of the wave dies.
I first adhered the orangy Sunset Sparkle Sequins to the card front and I decided I wanted a more subtle sparkle so I replaced them with the white irridescent sparkle sequins.

I stamped the bottom of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer with Crumb Cake sand image and adhered a shell over the sand.

I adhered the 4″ x 3/4″ leftover DSP to the top and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Rolling Waves stamp set in Strawberry Slush ink to the middle of the layer.

Adhere to the inside of the card base.

I added the White irridescent Sunset Sparkle Sequins to the outside of the card first three and then added two more!

I am very pleased with the final project!

creating a faux layer card

Have you ever created a faux layer with masking?

This is a simple card using 3M sticky notes to create a mask to make a white “faux” layer diagonally across the middle of the Basic White layer to give the illusion of an extra layer in the middle of the card!

Measurements:
BASE: Real Red CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/2″

I adhered three sticky notes together and cut them to the width desired.

Attach to the Basic White layer diagonally in the center of the Basic White layer.

In Real red ink stamp the flat florer across both sides of the 3M sticky note mask and around the edges of the layer.
Blend the layer with the mask in place with a blending brush and Real Red ink.
Remove the mask and stamp the sentiment diagonally from the Phrases and Frames stamp set in Real Red ink.
Cut a length of Red ribbon an inch or two wider than the layer and tape the edges to the back of the Basic White layer.
Adhere the Basic White layer to the Real Red cardstock base.
Adhere three embellishments to the card to finish off this easy faux layer card!
