more color mondays – blueberry bushel, berry burst, and crushed curry

more color mondays – blueberry bushel, berry burst, and crushed curry

Today’s More Color Monday color challenge was a bit of a mistake I picked the colors and had a card deign in mind using the Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper but these colors do not directly appear in the DSP color listing. I had already announced this color challenge last week and did not want to change anything so I went with it! Hopefully this will show you all that even if you do not have all the colors that are in the DSP you can still design cards that work well with the Paper!

I saw this fun fold design on a fellow demonstrator’s website that is in my sideline and she is super creative always an inspiration – thanks Susan C.

This fun fold is called the Peek Through Diamonds fun fold and although I used cut outs from the DSP that were a little larger than I wanted and you cannot see the peek through as I intended my card turned out OK – sometime a card you design is just not your favorite! And that is ok – some one will love it!

Measurements:
BASE: Crushed Curry CS: 5 1/2″ x 11″
cut off 2″ score at 1″, 1 1/2″, 2″, 6 1/4″, 6 3/4″
and 7 1/4″
Blueberry Bushel CS: 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, (3) 1 1/8″
squares
Berry Burst CS: 1 7/8″ x 5 1/2″ embossed
(3) 1 1/4″ squares
DSP: 1 3/4″ 5 1/2″, and 2″ x 5 1/2″ and scraps
for cut outs
Basic White CS: (3) 1″ squares

Mount the three Basic White squares to the Blueberry Bushel squares and then mount to the largest Berry Burst squares.
Cut the Base cardstock at 2″ to make the base 5 1/2″ x 9″. Score at 1″, 1 1/2″, and 2″ to make an accordian fold on the left side of the card base and then score at 6 1/4″, 6 3/4″ and 7 1/4″ to make an accordian fold on the right-hand side of the card.

Lay the 2″ piece on the right-hand side for spacing purposes and adhere the blueberry bushel gingham DSP to the opening on the inside of the card base.

The flap on the right-hand side of the card will be on the inside of the card – it looks like it is the outside piece but it is not.

Adhere the DSP to this inside flap.

Decide which cut outs to place on top, middle and bottom of the diamonds and then adhere glue dots on the back of each side point of the diamonds.
Place the 2″ Crushed Curry layer that you cut off of the base card over the DSP flap and adhere the glue dots one to the left hand flap and to the 2″ layer on the right-hand side. Line up the top of the diamond with the top of the inside of the card so it does not stick out further than the card dimensions.
I decided the right-hand flap looked to plain so I added the Berry Burst layer and embossed it with the Ladybug Picnic 3D embossing folder.
Adhere the other diamonds first to the sides of the card, then to the one above or below with glue dots.

I added a small strip of Blueberry Bushel CS to the left-hand flap to add more color.

I added three Pearlized Faceted Circles to the card for a little sparkle! The card is complete!

Try this fun fold it’s easy and with a fun peek through to see more of your Designer Series Paper. Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

greenery lane peek through card

greenery lane peek through card

This Greenery Lane Bundle and coordinating Washi Tape has limitless possibilities and this week I had a play with all of the supplies from these products. I came up with a couple cards and this one I sent away as this month’s swap card for my demonstrator monthly swap – hope they like it!

This peek through masculine card features not only the Greenery Lane stamp set and matching dies but the coordinating wide Washi Tape and the dies work with the tape just like the Extraordinary Flora set!

Measurements:
BASE: Lost Lagoon CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Pretty Peacock CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White CS: 3 3/4″ x 5″

Lay the tape on the Basic White CS layer and smooth out with your bone folder so there are no wrinkles.
Run the Basic White Washi Tape layer through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Lovely Stripes 3D embossing folder using the Base #1 plate and the embossing #4 plate.
Run Stampin’ Seal on the top and left hand edge only to secure the embossed layer to the Pretty Peacock matte layer. I want to use both dies separately that is why I will adhere the other side after running it through the machine!
Place the smallest Branching out concentric dies on the layer and decide where to make the cut.
Run through the machine using the set up for a thin die: Base plate #1, thin die adaptor #2. and sandwich the paper and die in between two #3 cutting plates. Run through cutting both embossed and matte layers and separate the layers.
I used the embossed layer to cut out a smaller foliage sprig to use later as decoration.
Adhere the other side of the embossed layer to the Pretty Peacock matte layer and then adhere both to the card front.

Nestle the die into the open space and through through the machine again to cut out the same die through the card front layer.

I stamped the love and hugs sentiment in full strength Lost Lagoon ink and then the larger leaf sprig in first generation stamping (that is stamping off one time on my grid paper to get a lighter background color and effect.)

Then I added Stampin’ Seal to the back of the Pretty Peacock die cut and with the card front closed I added it through the die hole to adhere to the inside back of the card.

Open the card front and the die will be placed in the correct position to see through the front die cut opening! Burnish the layer to make sure it is adhered properly!
I adhered the smaller sprig die cut and three Holographic Resin Dots to finish off this sweet masculine Greenery Lane peek through card!
I love interactive cards and this peek through window is a fun treat for anyone that receives it!

Try this peek through technique today! Now go and create a fun interactive card of your very own – one stamp at a time!

heartfelt hexagon window card

heartfelt hexagon window card

Today will be a very fun day and this is one of the fun projects you will be able to do if you are local and coming to visit me between 1-3pm at my New Catalog Open House. This bundle was made available early on-line because it was used in an on-line stamping day but it is one of the new bundles available in the January to April 2024 Mini Catalog! (and there is a FREE set you can earn during Sale-a-bration that coordinates with the punch HOW FUN IS THAT!!)
One of the best things I like about punches is that they can do so many fun things and cutting out a peek through window is one of those things and the one use I will be highlighting in this blog post!

Measurements:
Orchid Oasis: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
1/2″ strips of:
Bubble Bath
Flirty Flamingo
Lemon Lime Twist
Coastal Cabana
Orchid Oasis
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed and
punched

Slide the Hexagon punch onto the Basic White layer from the top of the 4 1/4″ side and punch out the hexagon shape.
Place the punched layer into the Painted Posies 3D embossing folder and emboss the image around the punched window.
Cut at least one 1/2″ strip of each of the colored cardstock in Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, and Orchid Oasis.
Place adhesive closely around the punched out window on the back side.
Layer one strip butting up next to the next strip and lay down onto the adhesive above and below the punched out window opening.

Place the Basic White layer embossing side up on a Stampin’ Pierce mat and stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, one of the sentiments from the Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle. Press firmly as you are stamping on multiple pieces of cardstock layered next to one another and not a single sheet of cardstock.

Tie a length of Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven ribbon in a knot around the Basic White embossed layer. Pop up this layer on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the Orchid Oasis cardstock base.

One of the coolest things about this Metallic Woven ribbon is you can pull it gently to create a pattern within the ribbon or pull it all the way to create loose singular threads at the end – I used both techniques on the edges of this ribbon. I placed a small patch of adhesive down under the ribbon to keep the pulled design intact!
I added five 2022-2024 In Color Pearls in coordinating Orchid Oasis to complete the card with a little coordinating bling – LOVE that about Stampin’ Up!

Hope to see you this afternoon and help you make this card! Come and create a little artwork of your very own – one new stamp at a time!!!

irresistible, hello window sheet card

irresistible, hello window sheet card

Window Sheets add a transparent layer and lots of depth and dimension to any project and this window sheet card is simple and an easy WOW card!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″ cut on the 5 1/2″ side at
1 1/4″ from card edge to the score and from
3″ from card edge to the score, then cut
along the score line between the 1 1/4″
mark and the 3″ mark
Window Sheet: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: 1″ x 4″ and 2 1/4″ x 4″
scrap Basic White CS for die cuts

Score the Basic White CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ at 4 1/4″ cut on the 5 1/2″ side at 1 1/4″ from card edge to the score and from 3″ from card edge to the score, then cut along the score line between the 1 1/4″ mark and the 3″ mark. When you fold the card in half this will create two flaps connected at the score line to the card.
Adhere the window sheet to the card front connecting the two flaps. Leave an 1/8″ border around the window sheet.
Adhere the larger DSP piece to the bottom of the card leaving an even white border around the DSP piece. Adhere the top piece in the same manner.
I die cut the long dotted piece out of Basic White CS and attached it to the left side of the card front.
Stamp two large flower in Pool Party and die cut. Stamp the leaves in our returning color Pretty Peacock and die cut.
Adhere the flower to both sides of the window sheet (they will not be an exact match but line them up as close as possible. Adhere the leaves to the inside of the card base so that they show through the window and line up behind the flower image.
Stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock and die cut as a large banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies set. Pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the center bottom of the card front.
Open the card and stamp the hello sentiment inbetween the leaf images.
Add Iridescent Pastel Gems to the sentiment piece and ribbon around the top edge of the window sheet and the clever window card is complete!
Make a see through window card today – one stamp at a time!
