unbounded beauty diagonal gate fold card

unbounded beauty diagonal gate fold card

Gate Fold cards are pretty cool and there are so many variations! This one is called a diagonal gate fold card and I used the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper to make this one!
One of the things I absolutely LOVE about our designer series paper (besides the fact that is the most gorgeous paper made) is that the A and B sides coordinate so well! Check out today’s project to see how easy things come together!

Measurements:
BASE: Petunia Pop 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece,
3″ x 4″ for front sentiment matte
Designer Series Paper: 5 1/4″ x 12″
scored at 2″, 4″, 8″ and 10″
2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ for front layer
Basic White scrap for sentiment die

Score the DSP at 2″, 4″, 8″, and 10″. Fold into a mountain fold at 2″, valley fold at 4″ and 8″ and mountain fold at 10″.
Focal piece

On the two side panels mark lightly with a pencil at 2″ from the top of the DSP on each side.
Place the 2″ pencil mark into the cutting track and angle the paper so the first score line is also in the track and cut a diagonal line from pencil mark to top of the paper at the score line.
Do this on each side.
Save the triangle pieces.
The top of the gate fold will show the exposed backside of the second panels where the triangular piece was cut away – it will look like this.
Switch the triangles and adhere to the opposite bottom corners.
Adhere the DSP piece to the Petunia Pop 1/4 sheet of cardstock as the base, making sure that the edges are an even amount.
Adhere the small DSP rectangle to the 3″ x 4″ petunia Pop cardstock matte.
From a Basic White cardstock scrap cut a die from the Unbounded Love die set and choose a sentiment (the sentiments from the coordinating set are awesome but I used a sentiment from Something Fancy because I have a niece graduating from Georgetown with a dual MBA and Law degree and this was made specifically for her! I also used the hatchmark image from the Spotlight on Nature for the edging of the sentiment piece then popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it in the center of the DSP focal piece.
Place adhesive only on the back of the left hand side (if you adhere both sides the card will not open!)
Adhere to the center of the left hand panel.
I decided to add a pocket on the inside for a gift card or cash for the graduate!
I cut a scrap of Petunia Pop to 2″ x 3 7/8″ and adhered Tear-n-Tape to both sides and bottom.
I adhered the pocket to the bottom of the inside middle panel!
I took a scrap of the unbounded Love DSP and fussy cut the flowers from that small piece (use them all even the half flowers use them on the edges of the paper!)
I added three 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems to add a lovely sparkle for a well deserved celebration!!

Go make some art work of your very own for a happy celebration or just to let someone know that you are thinking of them – one stamp at a time!

double flap kissing gate fold card

double flap kissing gate fold card

I modified another fun fold card and made a new one where the gate fold edges “kiss” the edges of the front flap instead of each other! I made a belly band to hold the card closed and made the square overlap to look like a Christmas present! I called it the Double Flap Kissing Gate Fold card! Hope you like it!

Measurements:
BASE: Real Red CS 5 1/2″ x 5 3/4″
scored on 5 3/4″ side at 3/4″ and 5″
Front Flap layer: 2 3/4″ x 6″
scored on 6″ side at 1/2″
Side Flap layers:
Basic White: 2 1/2″ square
DSP: 2 3/8″ square
Belly Band 3/4″ x 10″
Belly Band focal point
Real Red CS: 1 3/4″ square
DSP: 1 1/2″ square

Cut the Real Red base CS to 5 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ and score at 3/4″ and 5″.
Fold inward towards the middle.
Cut two strips of DSP to 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the outside gate fold 3/4″ panels.
Cut a piece of Basic White CS to 2 3/4″ x 6″ and score on the 6″ side at 1/2″.
Emboss the 5 1/2″ side and adhere the 1/2″ tab to the center top of the base card.
I closed the two side gate folds and made sure the front flap fit within those side gate folds.
Adhere an inside layer to cover up the flap connection. Adhere a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White CS to the inside of the base CS. Pictured here under the front flap.
Stamp the sentiment on the inside 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece.
Adhere the DSP 2 3/8″ piece to the Basic White 2 1/2″ square matte. Adhere ONLY the right side to the right gate fold.
Create the belly band from a 3/4″ x 10″ piece of cardstock and I added a offset square focal point to look like stacked presents on the card.
Adhere the 1 1/2″ square DSP to the 1 3/4″ square of Real Red CS and adhere to the belly band so it will lie over the side flap.
Add a bow of Linen thread to the DSP square and Iridescent Rhinestone Gems to finish off this fun fold card!
Try something new today and create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time!

offset gate fold card with new online exclusive products

offset gate fold card with new online exclusive products

There are some new online exclusive products being released on November 7th that demonstrators were able to pre-order and one of the new bundles is called Garden Meadow! The paper is scenic and gorgeous and I wanted to preview it with a fun fold that would utilize as much of it as I could!

Measurements:
Base: Blueberry Bushel 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside
DSP 6″ x 6″ cut at 5 1/4″
then cut at 1 1/4″, 2 1/2″

Score the base cardstock at 1 1/2″ and 5 3/4″
Fold Inward.

Adhere the Basic White layer in the center of the inside of the card.
Cut 3/4″ off the 6″ x 6″ piece of Meandering Garden DSP at the bottom to make the piece 5 1/4″. then looking at the picture cut 1 1/4″ and 2 1/2″ off the 6″ side.

This is how I divided my DSP, I wanted to use the meandering path as a focal point so I cut from the right side of the DSP.

Adhere the 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP to the smaller panel on the left. Adhere the 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP to the larger panel on the left side of the offset gatefold.
This bundle comes with a gorgeous set of new dies that include a gate and an arch shaped opening among other beautiful dies. I cut the gate from Basic Gray cardstock and adhered it to the bottom on either side of the opening.

The bottle you see in the picture is a fine tip glue bottle that I purchased from Amazon I love this precision tip applicator and I refill the bottles with our Multi Purpose liquid glue!

If you would like the link contact me and I can direct you were to buy it!

I stamped a greeting on the outside small panel as well as an inside the card greeting on the middle panel along with the image of the watering can in Basic Gray ink. I also added the additional scenic panel on the inside right panel of the card – couldn’t waste such pretty paper!
I flipped over the 3/4″ piece I cut off the bottom of the DSP in the beginning and added it to the left hand panel. The itty bitty piece of cardstock at the bottom of the card is the only waste I had from that 6″ x 6″ DSP piece!
I added to flat brass birds from the new embellishments from this online exclusive suite called Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies and Birds!

Since these items are not yet available in the online store for customers you can come back on November 7th and see the links to these products below then!

I will be highlighted some of these products in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned for more product reveals!

Now go and create some art of your very own – maybe an offset gate fold like this card with the items you have in your craft room! One stamp at a time!
