card sketch #113 – simple designer series paper card

Our Designer Series Paper is the absolute best in the industry – in quality and design! I love our papers and am so proud to work with a company that takes such pride in developing it’s products! This card sketch lends itself perfectly to our pretty papers. The coordinate so beautifully with all the other papers in the entire package so making a card like this is super simple! Just pick out four designs from the pack and get to cutting!

This is card sketch #113! Have fun!

Measurements:
BASE: Old Olive CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, scrap for punch
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: 4 different designs
2 5/8″ x 3 7/8″, 2 5/8″ x 1, 1″ x 2″
and 1″ x 2 7/8″

Adhere the 2 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ to the left-hand corner of the Basic White layer.
Adhere the 1″ x 2 7/8″ to the right-hand top corner.
Adhere the 1″ x 2″ DSP piece to the lower right-hand corner.
Adhere the 1″ x 2 5/8″ to the bottom left-hand corner.
Punch out the Heartfelt Hexagon punch on a scrap of Old Olive cardstock and stamp the “Bright & Happy CHRISTMAS WISHES” sentiment from the Jolly Holly stamp set in Old Olive ink and then add Old Olive ink to the outside edges of the punch with a blending brush.
Pop up the punch image on the layer front – I placed mine at the intersection of the four different DSP designs.
Adhere this layer to the Old Olive card base.
Adhere three green Traditional Sparkling Sequins to the card front around the punch and you have completed the easiest Christmas card yet!

Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

card sketch #111 – spooky halloween

card sketch #111 – spooky halloween

Today’s card sketch is a fun one to use with strips of colored paper, Designer Series paper or strips colored by hand – the possibilities are endless!

I choose the new Online Exclusive bundle Spooky Halloween, and the coordinating Spooky Sweet DSP.

Card Sketch #111 Measurements:
BASE: Granny Apple Green CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed
scrap for sentiment piece and critter stamp
Basic Black scrap for bat dies
DSP: (2) 3/4″ x 4″
(2) 1″ x 4″

I embossed the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer with the Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine using the BASE plate #1 and the Embossing Plate #4.

I cut the Basic Black scrap with the bat die using the BASE plate #1, the Thin Die Adaptor #2 and the 2 cutting plates #3.

Adhere the Basic White embossed layer to the Base card.
Arrange the DSP strips on the upper half of the card and adhere over the embossed layer in a pleasing pattern.
Stamp the critter in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the sentiment on scrap pieces of Basic White CS. Die cut the critter and cut the sentiment piece to size.
Adhere the critter to the left-hand side of the DSP arrangement.
Adhere the two bat dies overhead.
Using a blending brush and Granny Apple Green ink blend color onto the edges of the sentiment piece and pop up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals – adhere to the lower right-hand side of the card front.
Adhere embellishments off to finish the card – the suite comes with the coordinating DSP and the sweetest star embellishments!

I just may be converted to a Halloween card girl – LOL still not the biggest fan of the holiday but these cards are just too cute!!

Try making something fun for Fall this week and go create some artwork of your very own- one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – cloud cover, fresh freesia and highland heather

more color mondays – cloud cover, fresh freesia and highland heather

For today’s More Color Mondays Color Challenge I pulled from last week’s Sketch Challenge #110 and did a simple card using the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper which features pretty floral designs in Bubble Bath, Cloud Cover, Darling Duckling, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Peach Pie, Petunia Pop, Pretty In Pink, Secret Sea, Shy Shamrock, Strawberry Slush, Summer Splash, Timid Tiger

I picked the Cloud Cover striped B side of one of the choices of Designer Series paper and a complementary floral pattern for the two DSP pieces!

Measurements:
BASE: Cloud Cover CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″ and 2″ x 3 3/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Fresh Freesia CS: scrap for the sentiment die
Highland Heather CS: 2″ x 3 3/4″
DSP: (2) 1 3/4″ x 3 1/2″

PLace the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer in the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. Place the folder in the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine using the #1 base platform and the #4 embossing plate. Emboss the layer.
Adhere the Cloud Cover striped DSP piece to the Cloud Cover matte.

Adhere the floral piece to the Highland Heather matte.

Pick a sentiment from The Right Words stamp set and pick a suitably sized Spotlight on Nature circle die.

Stamp the sentiment onto a Fresh Freesia scrap
and die cut with the Spotlight on Nature die using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the #1 base, #2 thin die adaptor plate and 2 cutting plates #3’s.

Using the Highland Heather ink and a blending brush color the edges with the ink.

Adhere the Basic White layer to the card base leaving even borders.

Adhere the Cloud Cover DSP piece vertically to the left side of the White embossed layer leaving an even border on the left-hand side.

I adhered the floral DSP layer perpendicular to the Cloud Cover piece positioning it higher on the card so that I could adhere the sentiment piece below and at their junction of the the pieces forming a triangular shape which is appealing to the eye!
Pop up the sentiment piece onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and place in the junction of the two DSP pieces.
I added three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to finish off the card.

Adhere the Basic Black 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ layer to the Basic White card base.
Run the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Pressed Flowers embossing folder. This is a standard embossing folder which requires a sandwich of the base plate and two cutting plates (2 – #3 plates)
Adhere the embossed layer onto the card base.
Adhere the pieces of Designer Series paper to the Basic Black Mattes.
Stamp the sentiment “You’re So Kind” from The Right Words stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Die cut the sentiment with the Stylish Shapes circle die. Adhere the white die cut to a Basic Black CS Spotlight on Nature die.
Adhere the longer matted black and white DSP piece on the bottom of the card front.
Adhere the smaller DSP piece across the other DSP piece.
Adhere the sentiment piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals and place in the right upper quadrant.
