product of the month – wild bunch card

Today’s card features the newest Product of the Month incentive – spend $75 before shipping, tax and coupons and this sweet set of whimsical animals and sentiments can be yours for $5!

This card also uses Card Sketch #124! Play along and make a card using this sketch – if you do send me a photo I would love to see your interpretation of the sketch. I love sketches, especially when you need a little inspiration and don’t we all sometimes! Remember a sketch is just a starting point! Here I turned the sketch on it’s side and used it in landscape instead of portrait mode!

Measurements:
BASE: Crisp Cantaloupe CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, 1/4″ strip
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, scraps for stamping
animals, 1/2″ strip

Stamp each of the animals from the Wild Bunch stamp set in the Basic Black Hybrid Ink Pad on a scrap piece of Basic White CS.

Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment on a 1/2″ Basic White CS strip and then stamp the checkered pattern on either side of the sentiment in the Basic Black Hybrid ink pad.

Here is a SNEAK PEAK of the recent pre-order for the July Online Exclusives – remember we now offer Online ONLY stamps and bundles and other goodies to keep our offerings fresh and exciting so do not forget to peruse the Online ONLY catalog so you do not miss all the new offerings!

This is a very sweet embossing folder called Swirls of Magic and is my favorite new item from the July pre-order!

It pairs perfectly with these whimsical animals!
I embossed the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer.

Adhere the embossed layer to the Crisp Cantaloupe CS base.
Adhere the 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ Crisp Cantaloupe strip across the bottom of the Basic White embossed layer.
Color in the animals with Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate, Golden Glow, Gray Granite, Crumb Cake, Darling Duckling and Barely Blush Stampin’ Blends markers.
Color the openings in the letters and the blocks with the Crisp Cantaloupe Shimmer Brush for some subtle sparkle on the 1/2″ Basic White sentiment strip.

Adhere the 1/2″ strip above the Crisp Cantaloupe 1/4″ strip across the bottom of the card.

Start on the right-hand side of the card and start adhering the animals above the sentiment strip on the card.
Adhere the animals across the width of the card – popping up one of them I chose the snail to pop up above the Happy Birthday sentiment!
Wrap the Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon around the top of the card front and tie in a knot.
I added two Crisp Cantaloupe 2026-2028 In Color Dots to the card around the sentiment!
I decided I wanted a little more sparkle on the card so I added a little more shimmer brush to the cow’s muzzle and the snails shell! It is hard to see in photos but the shimmer is very fun!
Try this sketch when you have some free crafting time and see what you can create – one stamp at a time!

P.S. Reminder: The Swirls of Magic embossing folder will not be available until the July Online Exclusives are released so it will not appear below in the photo clickables because it is not available to the public to order yet!

card sketch #123 water mask card

card sketch #123 water mask card

I love a good masking technique and when I was at OnStage in March, Stampin’ Up! debuted the Water and Dotted Lines 12″ x 12″ masks.

They are so cool and great for not only card making but because of the size they are also great for scrapbooking backgrounds!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″, 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
scraps for die cuts
Hydrangea Hue CS: scrap for sunglasses die

Place the card base in the middle of the Glass Matte Studio and place the Water Mask over the card.

You can hold the card and mask in place with tape or just with your hand (which is what I do)

Using Balmy Blue ink and a Blending Brush in circular motion color the surface of the card through the mask. YOU can lift up one side to look and see how deep the color is and whether you are getting adequate coverage.

Continue coloring the card surface until the entire card is filled with the mask design and is the color desired.

Take the Basic White CS strip and stamp the sentiment on it in Hydrangea Hue ink.

Adhere to the card placing the words on the right-hand side of the card. Cut off the overhang.

The beach ball and inner tube from the Splash and Relax Bundle are a two-step stamping process – I stamp the detailed stamp in full strength Hydrangea hue ink first and then stamp the background stamp in Hydrangea Hue ink and stamp off onto the grid or scrap paper and then stamp over the detailed image. I think it is easier to place the stamps correctly over the darker colored detailed images then the other way around – BUT it can be done either way!
Die cut out the beach ball and the inner tube with the Splash and Relax dies and die cut the sunglass outer image in Hydrangea Hue CS.

Cut the sunglass lenses out of Silver or Irredescent Foil and glue onto the sunglasses base Hydrangea Hue CS.

Adhere the sunglasses directly over the left-hand side of the sentiment strip and pop up the inner tube and beach ball above and below the sentiment strip!

Stamp the inside sentiment and the beach ball on the inside of the card!
Place three Rhinestones around the sentiment strip and this easy card sketch card is complete! I love the simple masking background – this makes the card don’t you think?

Try this masking background technique soon and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

card sketch #122

card sketch #122

I love card sketches!

This one is so versatile! Card Sketch #122 is the next card sketch in our series. I have turned the sketch on it’s side for a little variety. I turned this one into a fun fold.

Measurements:
BASE: Strawberry Slush 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″
scored at 1″ and 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, scrap for punch and
die, 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strip
Vellum: 3/4″ x 5 1/2″

Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer into the inside of the card base.

Fold back the 1″ panel on the card front.

Adhere the vellum to the upturned panel.
Adhere the 1/2″ strip under the panel and then adhere the panel down.
Punch the Rounded Rectangle punch out of a scrap of Basic White CS.

Stamp the “thank you” from the Scalloped Blooms Bundle in the Black Hybrid ink pad. Blend the edges with a blending brush and Strawberry Slush ink. Pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Die cut the large leaf die from the Nature’s Symphony die set from a Basic White scrap.

Adhere to the front of the card over the vellum panel.

Pop up the sentiment over the leaf die.

Add some In Color Flat Pearls to finish off this easy lovely Sketch card.

Try turning a sketch on it’s side or change the dimensions of the elements – the possibilities are endless! Now it’s your turn to create some artwork – one stamp at a time!

card sketch #121

card sketch #121

Card Sketches sometimes feel like cheating to my Catholic Girl mentality LOL – because they make card making SOOOOOO much easier!

When I look or design a template – suddenly I see all the possibilities! This is such a fun and easy design – the top layer is “cut in half” you can do that as simply as stamping on only half the layer – which is what I did for this card but you could also cut cardstock and do a color block technique with one color on top and another on the bottom. You could have one of the sections be embossed or use DSP – see the possibilities are endless!!!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″, scrap for punch
Strawberry Slush CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Using the Extraordinary Flora stamp set and a Hybrid Black ink pad I stamped the lower half of the Strawberry Slush CS.
I lined a ribbon at the top of the stamped image and wrapeed it around the back side of the stamped layer and adhered it with two pieces of Scotch tape.
Turn the layer over and adjust height of ribbon if necessary.
Stamp the sentiment at the top left hand side of the layer.
Adhere a piece of Extraordinary Flora washi tape to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer slowly pressing down flat without wrinkles.
Run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the BASE plate #1, Thin Die Adaptor plate #2 and sandwich the die and washi tape paper in between two Cutting Plates #3.
Take a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and punch out a rectangle from the NEW Rounded Rectangle Punch #167880.
Stamp the sentiment and lines from the Extraordinary Flora stamp set and hybrid black ink pad onto the punched out piece.

Pick out one of the die cut flowers for an accent on the sentiment piece.

Place Stampin’ Dimensionals on the backside of the sentiment punch and the flower, remove the backing and adhere over the ribbon on the Strawberry Slush layer.
Adhere the Strawberry Slush layer to the Basic White card base.
Place some embellishments on the card – these are flat pearls which are discontinued but you could use any of our pearl embellishments to enhance your version!

Here is a similar version using a different color flower in a slightly different place – such an easy card I could make so many of them in a flash!

Try one of my sketches and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

card sketch #119 – 4 cards from one 6″ x 6″ DSP

card sketch #119 – 4 cards from one 6″ x 6″ DSP

This card sketch inspired 4 cards from this one sheet of gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP this was a carryover product last year and I do not anticipate that it will be carried over again so If you love watercolor landscaped images get this paper before it is gone!

Card sketch #119. is here and what will you do with it – so many possibilities!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: (2) pieces of 8 1/2″ x 11″
Score one at 4 1/4″ and then cut on the 11″
side at 5 1/2″, score the other at 5 1/2″ and
then cut at 4 1/4″
(4) 3 1/4″ squares, scraps for sentiments
DSP: (1) 6″ x 6″ sheet cut into (4) 3″ squares
then cut each 3″ square into (3) 1″ strips
Mossy Meadow CS: (4) 3 1/2″ squares

Emboss each of the card fronts of the card bases in the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.

Cut each of the 3″ squares into 1″ strips, keeping in order adhere them to the 3 1/4″ Basic White squares.
Adhere each of the 3 1/4″ white squares to the 3 1/2″ Mossy Meadow CS squares.
Adhere the first square to the center of one of the embossed card fronts.
Stamp a sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle and then die cut around the words. Adhere to the card front over the DSP.
Do the same for the rest of the cards! I added a few left over die cuts from a previous card from the Springtime Scenes die set on the last card!
two different card orientations but basically the same sketch!
Adhere three Natural Matte Dots to finish off the card with some coordinating embellishments. These gender neutral cards are perfect for ANY occasion just by changing the sentiment and the Wonderful Thoughts bundle is a great all sentiment set.

Check these items out before they leave!
Now it’s your turn to create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
