This project is made with the gorgeous new Level Two Sale-a-bration set called Detailed Dogwood. It is a collage set with beautiful images and perfect for the application I am using for today’s blog post – making your own designer paper!

There are actually two techniques for this post!
When you have a stamp set like this one – which you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase! – with a lot of smaller images it lends itself well to background paper stamping.

Measurements:
BASE: Pebbled Path 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
Pebbled Path layer 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
scrap for sentiment piece
Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside

Start with the Pebbled Path layer and stamp one of the medium images in the upper and lower diagonal corners.

Continue stamping until the entire surface of this layer is filled and designed to your liking.

I wanted to give it more texture so i embossed it with the hatchmark design from the Basics 3D folders pack.

Cut this in half and now you have background paper for two cards.
Adhere the paper to the base. (I later decided to add a small matte to this in Lemon Lolly to tie in the color of the post bleached flowers.)
I stamped the larger dogwood flowers from this set in Versamark and sprinkled the black embossing powder from the Basics embossing powders pack and heat set with our Heat Tool.
Using an old brush or a dried out Blender Pen, I diped the old Blender pen in Gel Bleach and painted the bleach inside the embossed flower lines. Each dyed paper bleaches a different color – I always love watching the color develop! It reminds me of the old days when we used to develop film and you would be able to see the image appear – the color developing is a similar experience! Who would have guessed that Pebbled Path bleaches out to Lemon Lolly?
After I fussy cut the dogwood flowers out I popped them up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it on the upper right hand section of the card.
I added the Pebbled Path Textured ribbon to the lower part of the card.
I stamped a sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set in Pebbled Path ink on the same color cardstock. I stamped off twice the dotted pattern and stamped over the sentiment and then cut it out using the Nested Essentials dies.
I moved the flowers and the ribbon up to accommodate the banner die and the sentiment.
I added some Gold Brushed Metallic Dots to highlight the flowers bleached areas.
I added a lemon Lolly matte to further accentuate the bleached color of the flowers I thought it was so pretty I wanted to call attention to it even more!

Creative stretching is a very good thing! Sometimes like exercise we resist it, it can be uncomfortable, even anxiety producing – well maybe not that bad but like exercise for our bodies – stretching our creative potential is a great thing for our brains!! Like MOST of you paper crafters, out there, I LOVE paper. Unlike my children (that are constantly trying to get me to confess my favorite among them) – I do have favorite colors and not so favorite colors!
I have to be honest, Moody Mauve is not in my color wheel house! It is a lovely color just not my favorite and I do not use it often enough. So I decided to stretch my creativity and include it in this week’s color challenge.

I also included a technique direct to rubber coloring using our Stampin’ Write markers which in my opinion do not get enough love! This is the most economical way to get a lot of the Stampin’ Up! colors by buying our marker color families! You can experiment with all the colors and then buy only the ink pads that are your favorite!

Measurements:
BASE: Pretty Peacock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, (2) 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for largest STylisg Shapes circle die
DSP: Winter Meadow 2″ x 5 1/4″
Lost Lagoon: 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ (2)

Cut the Pretty Peacock base cardstock, score and fold in half.
Emboss the Basic White layer with the hack-marked Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
Adhere the embossed layer to the cardbase.
Adhere the Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock strips to the outer edges of the DSP.
Adhere that whole piece to the center of the embossed layer.
Stamp the sentiment from the Magical Meadow stamp set in the center of the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set in Pretty Peacock ink.
Using Moody Mauve and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write markers color the pomegranate pods in Moody Mauve and the leaves in Pretty Peacock. Re-wet the stamp ink by breathing on the stamp surface. Stamp the images on the outer edges of the circle around the sentiment.
Cut a length of Moody Mauve Textured ribbon that wraps over your palm about three times. Loop it loosely under the circle die with Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold the ribbon in place and adhere to the center of the card front.
Add the 2023-2025 In Color dots to the card to finish it off with a little coordinating bling!

I fell in love with this set!
Such a sweet set called Little Dreamers.

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: Glorious Gingham 2″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White scraps for dies

Adhere the 2″ strip of Glorious Gingham DSP in the center of the Basic White layer.
Take the white layer and emboss it in the 3D dots embossing layer.
Using a blending brush in Blueberry Bushel on the moon die color the moon. Then brush Wink of Stella on the moon to add sparkle. Adhere to the right corner.
Using Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and color the elephant stamp. Die cut it out. Die cut a circle from Stylish Shapes die set out of vellum. Die cut stars and clouds out of scrap basic white cardstock. Adhere the elephant onto the vellum circle and add the circle on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the card center. Add the stars and cloudsto the cardfront.
Adhere the embossed layer to the card front.
Add the Silver and White ribbon to the card.
Add Wink of Stella onto the white stars and clouds.
Stamp the sentiment and stars into the card inside.

I finished the card with the white Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio for some extra sparkle.

Now go and create something pretty – your own artwork – one stamp at a time!

Have you ever wanted to emboss and die cut something but needed a larger size? Did you know there is a simple trick to extend your dies and embossing folders? In today’s blog post, I will teach you these simple tricks to extend your dies and folders to use on slim line cards and beyond.

Today’s card is a slim line card and it measures 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored on the 7 1/2″ side in half at 3 3/4″. If you want to emboss a layer to fit the entire length of the card you need an embossing folder that is 8 1/2″ long, right? Wrong – you just need an embossing folder that has a design that will be easy to match up. Our embossing folders are 4 1/2″ x 6″ long so you need to run it through twice.
Have you ever found the perfect sentiment for the card but the die you want to use isn’t long enough – no worries there is a way around that problem too!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 3 3/4″ on the 7 1/2″ side
Basic Black layer: 2″ x 8 1/2″
Scraps of the 2022-2024 In Colors for die cutting

Place your black layer in an embossing folder that has a pattern that is not to tight and complex. I choose the dots from the Basics 3D embossing folders pack, this pattern is easy to match up, the dots fit easily back into the surrounding pattern and match up to make a continuous pattern sampling. Run through the Stampin’ Cut and emboss machine and remove from the folder.
Flip the layer and place the last full dotted line in the folder matching the dots up. You will fill the embossed paper slip into the pattern of the embossing folder and “lock” into place. Place the unembossed side inside the folder and run that side through the machine in the folder.
Cut the floral dies from the Timeless Arrangements die set out of the 2022-2024 In Colors Collection: Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky card stocks. Adhere them in a pleasing pattern to the right hand underside of the Basic Black embossed piece.
To extend a die, place the die on the paper and add the top cutting plate to lie over 3/4 of the die, leaving the end of the die exposed and not under the cutting plate. Run this portion under the top cutting plate through the machine.
Stamp the desired sentiment onto the die cut space – this allows you to see how long the extend die cut needs to be.
Line up the die and place the top cutting plate only over the bottom of the die.
So you can extend most dies to accommodate the space within!
Add a few more Timeless Arrangements dies to the left hand side of the sentiment piece.
Adhere using Stampin’ Mini Dimensionals to the card front center. Add three Brass Butterflies to the card front and this card is complete!

Try to extend some of your embossing folders and dies next time you stamp and go create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!

two step stencil technique

I have used Masks in several posts previously but this technique uses a two step method.

BASE: Berry Burst CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a scrap for the
sentiment piece
Lemon Lime Twist scrap 1″ x 4 3/16″
Basic Black CS: 4″ square

Die cut the large flower die from the Artistic Dies in black CS.
Place the black CS negative piece on the Basic White CS piece.
Using a Blending Brush and Lemon Lime Twist, ink the edges where the negative space is for the leaves.
Ink the negative space in the center where the flowers would be with Highland Heather and Berry Burst ink and Blending Brushes.
Remove the Black CS negative die and place the mask from the Four Square Decorative Masks set and add another layer of ink with the same colors. Go over the Lemon Lime Twist over the mask where the areas underneath are Lemon Lime Twist.
Ink a blending brush with Highland Heather and Berry Burst over the areas where the same colors are.
Remove the mask.
Cut the Basic White CS and adhere to the card base.
Adhere the black die cut over the two step technique area.
Emboss the Lemon Lime strip and adhere to the right side of the card.
Stamp the sentiment from Wonderful Thoughts in Berry Burst. Die cut the sentiment with the large banner from the Stylish Shapes.
Cut the banner in half and pop up the sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add 2023-2025 In Color Dots to the card front.
