more color mondays – azure afternoon, berry burst and old olive

Well by now you should know I am a Bold Brights girl (the old name for the Brights collection of inks, cardstock, and accessories) That collection is my go to! I gravitate towards the Brights collection without even realizing it! But this More Color Monday is one of my favorites so far!
Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst and Old Olive (for those of you newer to Stampin’ Up!, we have been through several color resets in my 22 years as a demonstrator and Old Olive believe it or not has been moved three times – when I joined as a demonstrator it was in the earth elements – which eventually became our neutrals collection, then it was moved to the bold brights collection – which eventually became our bright collection and then we moved it to the Regals Collection – which used to be the Rich Regals. LOL makes me feel a little old! Anyway it is a perfect compliment to these richly saturated bright colors of berry and blue!

Measurements:
Azure Afternoon:
Base: 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
Layer: 5 1/4″ x 2″
Basic White: 3 sheets of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ to be
colored with Blending Brushes and inks
Layer: 5 1/4″ x 4″
scrap: for the sentiment piece

Run the 5 1/4″ x 2″ piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Basics 3D embossing folder with the slash marks.
Adhere the White layer to the card front leaving a 1/8″ border from the right hand side of the card edge, top and bottom. There will be a larger gap on the left hand side but this will be covered.
Place 5 Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back side of the Azure Afternoon embossed piece as shown – three spaced along the left edge and two in the middle between the three – do not place any along the right hand edge yet!
Using Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst and Old Olive inks and Blending brushes, Blend each color across one of the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ pieces of Basic White cardstock. Leave lighter spaces and even some white space in the cardstock.
Cut the leaves die from the Old Olive Blended cardstock, and the berries and floral dies from the Azure Afternoon and Berry Burst blended cardstock.
Remove the paper backing from the Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere the 5 1/4″ piece of embossed Azure Afternoon cardstock so that it is 1/8″ evenly spaced from the left hand edge and top and bottom of the card front.
Place adhesive on the bottom strips that attach the dies from the Timeless Arrangements dies and slip the straight edge under the Azure Afternoon embossed piece to hide that straight edged connection piece.
Overlap the colored dies to form a pleasing arrangement and add another Stampin’ Dimensional on the top and bottom right edge of the Azure Afternoon piece to secure the dies and the embossed piece to the card front.
Stamp a sentiment on the large banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set and adhere the left side with adhesive to the card and the right side with a Stampin’ Dimensional to pop it up to equal the depth of the left edge.
Add Iridescent Rhinestones Basics Jewels to the card and voila a beauty of a card – I must thank a demonstrator that posted this card design to the Demonstrator Planning Place and I fell in love with the design and knew I had to case it unfortunately I did not take note of the demonstrator to give her credit and I cannot find the post any longer so whoever you are it was a gorgeous card and I appreciate the inspiration!
Hope this inspires you to create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time! If you need anything my current hostess code is HGE4RYHW.

partial die cut shape card

partial die cut shape card

Dies have so many uses and this is a very cool technique! Partial cutting dies allows you to change or modify the original shape by not cutting part of the die. May 2nd this Bundle will become available in the New Annual Catalog! So this is a sneak peak of the Countryside Corners Bundle (#161472) as always bundles are a 10% savings off of the stamp set and die set individual pricing! The Stamp set is one large background stamp – you can color the individual octagonal shapes with your Stampin’ Write markers and ink up the entire stamp and die cut individual layers with the dies – the possibilities are endless.
Today I did something unique and partially die cut the largest octagon – by placing on side off the paper I was able to create an Octagon shaped card.
Measurements:
Boho Blue CS: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Basic White 8 1/2″ x 11″ scored at 4 1/4″ (this
will give you enough space to cut out 2
octagon shaped cards.)

Score an entire sheet of cardstock at the 4 1/4″ mark. Fold in half. Place the largest octagon die slightly off the paper at the score bend. Run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.

Place the Boho Blue 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock into the 3D Basics crosshatch patterned embossing folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.
Ink up the Countryside Corners stamp in Boho Blue ink (available in the new catalog on May 2nd) and stamp onto the cardstock die cut card.
Adhere to the center of the embossed Boho Blue card base.
Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set in the center rectangle.
Add embellishments, these are the new 2023-2025 In Color Dots that will also be available May 2nd.

Try some shapes you have at home and try the partial die cut technique and make your own art today – one stamp at a time!

basic 3d embossing folders

basic 3d embossing folders

March 1st marked the release of our Online exclusives program and along with the Stamp Bundle I featured on Wednesday, March 1st on my blog post, Stampin’ up! released some versatile 3D embossing folders. these are available on line as order number #161598 and is called the Basics 3D Embossing Folders pack – three folders come packed together and are all fun subtle designs. I used each of them in the same card design to highlight just the background designs achieved from these great Basics folders.

Measurements:
Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and
4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
Basic White embossed layer 4″ x 5 1/4″
Scrap Pool Party for scalloped circle die and banner die
vellum

Run each of the three Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ layers through each of the 3 different Basics 3D embossing folders.

I used a scrap piece of Pool Party cardstock and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Layering Circles scalloped die and the Brilliant Wings smaller butterfly die and used the negative of the butterfly die to highlight the alcohol vellum technique!
Because you will be adhering to an embossed uneven surface I use Tear N Tape for a stronger hold.
Tie Pool Party Sheer ribbon around the lower half of the embossed layer and tie in a knot.
Die cut the smaller long banner from the Stylish Shapes die set and stamp with the Inspired thoughts sentiment “THANK YOU SO MUCH” Pop up on mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the center lower third of the card with the ribbon knot directly above the center of the sentiment piece.
Spray a large piece of vellum with Rubbing alcohol (I use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol for best results.) Add drops of various re-inkers (I used Pool Party, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather)
Use a Heat Tool to move the ink and spread the color and dry the ink. Keep adding re-inker drops of ink and sprays of alcohol until the desired color and effect is achieved!
Add a section of the vellum to the backside of the butterfly die cut and then pop this focal piece up on Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and add to the center top third of the card.

This card uses the Basics 3D embossing folder that has a starfish pattern on in.

Add Rhinestone Basics Jewels to the card and it is complete!
This card uses the Basics 3D embossing folder that has raised dots as a background.
This card uses the Basics 3D embossing folder that has raised diagonal crossing slash marks as a background.
Here are all three designs, each unique because of the different embossed backgrounds – this is a great essentials set and worth every penny.
Use one of your embossing folders as a background today and go create some art of your own – one stamp and embossing folder at a time!
