decorative trees simple christmas card in blueberry bushel and white

decorative trees simple christmas card in blueberry bushel and white

Sometimes all you are looking for is a simple card – especially when it comes to Christmas cards if you send out quite a few like I do!

This card fits the bill lovely and simple – requiring just a few steps and minimal layers!

Measurements:
BASE: Blueberry Bushel CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
1″ x 4″ strip
scrap for the die cut tree
Basic White layer: (2) 4″ x 5 1/4″

Use the embossing buddy – rub over the 1″ strip of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and stamp the “O Christmas Tree” sentiment in Versamark ink in the center. Sprinkle the White embossing powder from the Embossing Basics pack and heat set with the Heat Tool.
Emboss one of the Basic White CS layers with the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder and adhere the strip to the lower 1/3 of the layer.
Adhere the Basic White embossed layer to the card front.
Die cut the snowflake tree die in Blueberry Bushel and adhere to the card center with glue.
Adhere Basic Rhinestone jewels to the card front to complete this simple Christmas card!
I love the winter-y vibe this blue and white card gives off. So elegant and simple!

Try making a few Christmas cards in plenty of time now so you will not feel rushed as the season approaches.

Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

happy memorial day more color mondays – real red, blueberry bushel and basic white

happy memorial day more color mondays – real red, blueberry bushel and basic white

Happy Memorial Day to all! Especially the military personnel in my own family and yours! In the United States it is a day to remember the fallen heroes as well as those that have and currently are serving our country! I also love that this traditionally marks the start of the summer season for us as well! For my family it signals the start of summer lake season – boating and watersports, family and friends visiting, lots of memories to be made. Personally it is my favorite time of year! This card celebrates all of that with a very fun tri-diamond Z-fold card using the Love This Moment on-line exclusive set as well as the Beach Day Bundle!

Measurements:
BASE: Real Red CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″
DSP: (2) 2″ x 5 3/8″ for first panel, and right side of inside of card
Basic White: (4) 2″ x 5 3/8″ for second panel and left side of inside of card, also for back of panels 1 and 2 for writing
Diamonds
2 small size: (2) colored cardstock (CCS)
1 7/8″square
(2) Basic White CS
1 3/4″ square
1 large size: CCS 2 1/2″ square
Basic White 2 3/8″ square
Hinge piece (same color as base CS)
1 3/4″ x 3″ scored at 3/4″, 1 1/2″ and 2 1/4″

Stamp the little star image from the Love This Moment stamp set in Real Red ink on 2 of the 2″ x 5 3/8″ Basic White strips, both small squares and stamp the sentiment on the square turning it into a diamond shape first and then stamping so that the sentiment reads straight across the diamond shape, then stamp stars around the sentiment.
Stamp three of the surf/paddleboard images in Blueberry Bushel ink and fussy cut out.
Mount the three diamond shapes onto the Blueberry Bushel mattes.
Score the base card at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″ and fold into a traditional Z-fold. Adhere the DSP onto the first panel and the other DSP secion onto the right side of the third panel leaving the same amount of room about 1/8″ on three sides as the first DSP panel. Adhere the two Basic White stamped panels onto the second panel and the left side of the third panel.
Cut the hinge piece out of the same color card stock as the base and score at 3/4″, 1 1/2″ and 2 1/4″. Place Stampin’ Seal + adhesive on the first and last panels and fold in half and place in the center of the inside just to the right of the 4 1/4″ middle score line of the base card.
FOld the front of the card base closed and rub over the hinge piece to secure the adhesive.
Snip the inside point off of the large diamond and adhere to the top of the hinge piece.
Line up the top point of the first small diamond shape to the top of the card at the score line between the first and second panel. Adhere the left side of the diamond only to the first panel lining up the top and bottom points to the score line.
Line up the bottom point of the second small diamond shape to the bottom of the card at the score line between the first and second panel. Adhere the left side of the diamond only to the first panel lining up the top and bottom points to the score line.
Decorate the diamonds as you choose I added the paddleboards to the diamonds at an angle.
I decided I wanted a little more stamping so I added beach balls by stamping in Blueberry Bushel and adding color with the Real Red Stampin’ Write marker on every other section. I wanted the blue to be a little lighter so I took a Water Painter and watercolored with Blueberry Bushel ink on the other sections and added color the same way to the paddleboards.
I popped up the beach balls onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and added them to each diamond.
I added the white Adhesive-backed Sequins Trio for a little sparkle and this card is complete!

I love celebrating the little everyday moments in life – what is your favorite season, what is your favorite thing about summer?
Celebrate by making something fun and sharing it with someone you love! Go and create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – azure afternoon, crushed curry and basic white

more color mondays – azure afternoon, crushed curry and basic white

Back in June 2021, I posted a card that featured the floating elements technique. Today i am using a few techniques and that is one of them!

More Color Monday’s is back with a bright and cheery combination of blue, yellow and white. The look is crisp and clear and I really like this card!

The Current Hostess code is HGE4RYHW.

Measurements:
BASE: Azure Afternoon CS 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 2 5/8″
CS Strips: 1/2″ wide of varying lengths (must be
wider than the die you will be using)
Window Sheet: (must be larger than the die cut you will be using)

Using a window sheet, adhere CS strips equally spaced to the window sheet and die cut with a shape die. (There are two layers so run the die through several times to ensure that the cuts run all the way through both layers)

Place the Basic White layer under one of the Foursquare Decorative mask background plastic layers. Using Azure Afternoon ink and a Blending Brush, apply color with ink and brush until the entire surface is inked with the design.
Fold the Base card in half and adhere the Basic White layer offset on the right side center of the card front.
Place Stampin’ Dimensionals strategically under the CS strips to pop up the Floating Element on the card and place partially over the Basic White layer on the card front.
The Die will appear to “float” on the card, hence the Floating element technique. It is a very cool effect!
I added ribbon to the card for a finishing touch and this More color Monday is in the books. I hope you play along with me and push your creativity to the next level by trying a few new color challenges. Now go out and create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!

announcing ‘more color mondays’ weekly color challenge

announcing ‘more color mondays’ weekly color challenge

Announcing a weekly color challenge! Want/need some card making inspiration – every Sunday morning I will post a color challenge and everyone that posts a card by Sunday evening will get highlighted in my Monday morning post – let’s all play and inspire each other!

I posted the first challenge last week but this will be a recurring theme and would love to get all of your stamping friends involved so spread the word!

Yesterday’s post was a three color challenge using Starry Sky, Gray Granite and Basic White. Sometimes all the inspiration one needs is on the back of the Designer Series paper package! For today’s challenge I went with three of the colors from the gorgeous retiring Sun Prints 12″ x 12″ DSP.

Every Sunday night I will post the colors like the picture below!

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card base of Starry Sky.
I adhered a 4 ” x 5 1/4″ piece of Starry Sky and white striped DSP from the Sun Prints DSP (#158790) which was still available when I checked last week and on sale for $12.00!
I added a 3″square piece of DSP in Gray Granite print on a diagonal and added stamped and die cut embellishments from the Nature’s Prints bundle! I added In Color embellishments and this color challenge is complete!
