product of the month – wild bunch card

Today’s card features the newest Product of the Month incentive – spend $75 before shipping, tax and coupons and this sweet set of whimsical animals and sentiments can be yours for $5!

This card also uses Card Sketch #124! Play along and make a card using this sketch – if you do send me a photo I would love to see your interpretation of the sketch. I love sketches, especially when you need a little inspiration and don’t we all sometimes! Remember a sketch is just a starting point! Here I turned the sketch on it’s side and used it in landscape instead of portrait mode!

Measurements:
BASE: Crisp Cantaloupe CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, 1/4″ strip
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, scraps for stamping
animals, 1/2″ strip

Stamp each of the animals from the Wild Bunch stamp set in the Basic Black Hybrid Ink Pad on a scrap piece of Basic White CS.

Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment on a 1/2″ Basic White CS strip and then stamp the checkered pattern on either side of the sentiment in the Basic Black Hybrid ink pad.

Here is a SNEAK PEAK of the recent pre-order for the July Online Exclusives – remember we now offer Online ONLY stamps and bundles and other goodies to keep our offerings fresh and exciting so do not forget to peruse the Online ONLY catalog so you do not miss all the new offerings!

This is a very sweet embossing folder called Swirls of Magic and is my favorite new item from the July pre-order!

It pairs perfectly with these whimsical animals!
I embossed the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer.

Adhere the embossed layer to the Crisp Cantaloupe CS base.
Adhere the 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ Crisp Cantaloupe strip across the bottom of the Basic White embossed layer.
Color in the animals with Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate, Golden Glow, Gray Granite, Crumb Cake, Darling Duckling and Barely Blush Stampin’ Blends markers.
Color the openings in the letters and the blocks with the Crisp Cantaloupe Shimmer Brush for some subtle sparkle on the 1/2″ Basic White sentiment strip.

Adhere the 1/2″ strip above the Crisp Cantaloupe 1/4″ strip across the bottom of the card.

Start on the right-hand side of the card and start adhering the animals above the sentiment strip on the card.
Adhere the animals across the width of the card – popping up one of them I chose the snail to pop up above the Happy Birthday sentiment!
Wrap the Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon around the top of the card front and tie in a knot.
I added two Crisp Cantaloupe 2026-2028 In Color Dots to the card around the sentiment!
I decided I wanted a little more sparkle on the card so I added a little more shimmer brush to the cow’s muzzle and the snails shell! It is hard to see in photos but the shimmer is very fun!
Try this sketch when you have some free crafting time and see what you can create – one stamp at a time!

P.S. Reminder: The Swirls of Magic embossing folder will not be available until the July Online Exclusives are released so it will not appear below in the photo clickables because it is not available to the public to order yet!

eyelet blooms die card

eyelet blooms die card

Today’s blog post is all about the great new Product of the month (April POM – Eyelet Blooms Die #167984) it came out the first week of April and I have been meaning to have a play with it and take some photos, design some cards but this month has been a little crazy and it just got away from me – so here it is the end of the month but they are still available as well as the stamp set from last month March POM – Notes of Spring (#167979) and the popular Februray POM – Painted Illustrations DSP #167977)

I have several samples using a retired DSP called Fancy Flora.

Measurements:
BASE: Petal Pink CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, scrap for sentiment matte
die
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″, scrap for sentiment die

TIP: This eyelet die is EXTREMELY detailed and if you run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the #1 BASE plate, #2 thin-die adapter, and inbetween (2) #3 cutting plates – it cuts the design but does not grab most of the little dot cut outs BUT if you run it through the machine a second time with our NEW Impressions Plate it helps take out more of those pesky little pieces!

The New Impressions Plate will be available on May 5th (#167767) and will retail for $11! Wait until you see the things it can do and this is one more!

For the first card sample I cut the Eyelet Blooms die cardstock in half 2″ x 5 1/2″.

I wrapped some Petal Pink ribbon around the eyelet layer and secured with Scotch tape.

I adhered the DSP to the card front leaving an even border and adhered the eyelet ribbon layer to the center.
I die cut two smaller consecutive Party Banner dies – the larger of the two in Petal Pink CS scrap and the smaller of the two in DSP. I chose a less busy portion of the remaining 2″ piece to stamp upon.
I stamped a sentiment from the upcoming Sending Salutations – a great new sentiments set in the new catalog in Blueberry Bushel ink.
Adhere the DSP to the Petal Pink matte and pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals above the ribbon on the card front.
I added some Petal Pink embellishments and the card is complete! Easy and so sweet with the eyelet!
I did a similar card with the reverse pattern from the Fancy Flora paper but tied the ribbon around the entire card front and then attached the sentiment piece.
For the next two cards I used the whole eyelet die piece over the DSP – this gives a subtle color background to the tiny openings in the eyelet – the first card has the more solid blue paint pattern and the second has the multi-colored paint pattern underneath the eyelets.
Remember if you spend $75 before coupons and tax and shipping you can have the Eyelet Blooms Die or February or March’s Product of the month bonuses for ONLY $5!

Also any of the NEW catalog products will not appear below in the photo links because they are not yet available to order for customers!

Now go and create some artwork of your very own – it is a rainy day here and a perfect day for creation – one stamp at a time!

shadow block technique painted illusions card

shadow block technique painted illusions card

I love this simple technique not only does it efficiently use up scraps of paper but it looks so cool! And you can create this card with minimal supplies – BONUS!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″, 1″ x 3″
Misty Moonlight CS: (12) 1″ x 1″ squares, 1″ x 3″
DSP: (12) 1″ x 1″ squares

Place a small amount of glue or tape on one of the Misty Moonlight squares and attach one of the DSP squares on top of it with the bottom and right hand side of the Misty Moonlight square peeking out evenly as shown in the photo.
Do 11 more squares varying the pattern making sure to put the “shadow” in the same place each time.
Stamp the Hello Sunshine sentiment from the Exploring Nature stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink on the 1″ x 3″ Basic White CS layer.
Mount this layer onto the 1″ x 3″ Misty Moonlight CS layer with the same pattern of offset as a “shadow”
Start to place the double shadow squares on the card front – 3 across and four down.

TIP: When I adhere something across the span of the card I place the outside images first and then center the middle in between the two outside images – it is easier to space them this way!

Next I place the four down so I can match the rows and columns evenly.

Adhere all the shadow squares to the card front.

Finish adhering the squares lining them up in even rows.
Pop up the sentiment piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals and place on the card over the shadow squares.
Place the sentiment piece in the middle of the four rows.
I added three Pearlized Faceted Circles to finish off this fun card!

Try this simple technique with your paper scraps and see what fun art work you can create – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – lost lagoon, flirty flamingo and darling duckling

more color mondays – lost lagoon, flirty flamingo and darling duckling

Well this third Product of the Month release is a hit! This Designer Series Paper is beautiful and the inspiration fort todays’ More Color Mondays color challenge card! Painted Illusions is the February release in the Product of the Month category and this DSP is fabulous if I could buy it more than once I would. the first few photos are the different sides of the paper included in the packet.

Measurement:
BASE: Lost Lagoon CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, scraps for dies
DSP: 4″ square and 2″scrap strip for dies
Vellum CS: 4″ square

Emboss the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer with the Soft Waves 3D embossing folder and adhere to the Lost Lagoon card base.
Take the empty circle die from the Springtime Scenes awesome die set collection die cut the Painted Illusions Product of the Month DSP and save both the inner circle and the outer ring – we will be using both!

Die cut the vellum layer with the leaf circle.

Glue the DSP outer circle to the outer portion of the vellum leaf circle die.

Glue the inner DSP circle die to the upper middle of the card front onto the embossed Basic White layer.
Add glue to the vellum layer only under where the DSP ring is. Attach over the circle ont he card front.
Take two blending brushes and Flirty Flamingo and Darling Duckling ink and color a scrap piece of Basic White CS.
Stamp the lady bug image from the Springtime Scenes stamp set and die cut them out.
Blend another Basic White scrap and die cut the sentiment image and stamp the sentiment “Sweet springtime” in Tuxedo Black memento ink on the die cut.

Pop up the three lady bugs around the vellum circle.

Adhere the sentiment on the lower right hand side of the card front.
I added the new embellishments Pearlized Faceted circles – I love these new sparkles!

I wanted to add a little more Lost Lagoon so I die cut some leaf dies!

I added the leaf die images to the card for more color balance!

Don’t be afraid to add to a card that you had planned out if it seems out of balance – you will grow better at design elements of a card and if you are thinking something is missing or off sometimes it is. Try adding something with out gluing it down you can always remove it then if you decide it was better in the original format.
Experiment that is how you get better at designing!

Now it’s your turn to go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
