august 2025 swap cards

august 2025 swap cards

Our August Demonstrator Swap cards are all in and they all feature new stamp collections from the September to December 2025 mini catalog and the newly released Online Exclusives that are Fall and Holiday themed!

And what gorgeous samples and ideas do I have to show you today!

My first swap card comes from CarrollAnn A. and uses the new Amber Autumn Bundle. It contains a lovely large die with a card size cut out of Fall Leaves – she die cut that in Crushed Curry and colored around the edges with Shaded Spruce ink and a blending brush and adhered it to a Pumpkin Pie base. She colored the pumpkin and squash focal piece with Stampin’ Blends markers and popped it and the sentiment up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for a great Fall wishes card.

Ginger S’s swap card features the Fright Night bundle embossed and cut out on Timid Tiger CS and Basic Black CS. The image is heat embossed in black embossing powder for extra depth and dimension! This fun fold front flap card uses the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series paper and lots of fun extras – like the caldron cut out from the DSP!
Tractor and Co. Bundle was used to make Patty J’s swap card. The tractor is stamped and set on the Thoughtful journeys 6″ x 6″ DSP for a fabulous Fall scene.
My next demonstrator swap card is from My upline Denise W. and she used the Happy Place mini catalog stamp set.

She made a homemade rainbow pad using a wet wipe and Azure Afternoon, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, and Balmy Blue ink refills to ink up the Happy Stamp!

She used Azure Afternoon, Darling Duckling and Basic White cardstock, the So Swirly embossing folder and the Darling Duckling In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP for the “For You” sentiment strip.

My last Fall swap card came from Kathi D and features the Gathering Together Suite collection of products including the Gathering Together Specialty Designer Series paper and great large fall foliage dies.
Judith P’s swap card is a gatefold fun fold card using the Jars of Joy bundle and the Traditions of Christmas DSP.
The Peaceful Garden Suite was used by Marie W and features a clever partial cut die in the center to make a small lift up card on a 1/4 sheet sized base!

The small branch that the dove is carrying is die cut from the Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper and the soft Cloud Cover layer is embossed with the coordinating Peaceful Greenery 3D embossing folder!

The Peaceful Garden Suite was used by Marie W and features a clever partial cut die in the center to make a small lift up card on a 1/4 sheet sized base!
Carol S’s Traditional Labels swap card is stunning in it’s traditional Red and Green dies that pop on the Traditional Wreath 3D embossing folder background in Basic White cardstock!
And my last sample is a swap card from Lori V featuring the Peaceful Garden Suite of products in gold foil with a coordinating heat embossed Peace on Earth in the center. The background is complimented with the gorgeous Seasons of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper and Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon!
Hope these demonstrator swap cards inspired you – now is the time to start those Christmas cards! It is so much nicer to receive a handmade card than a store bought one because it takes time and effort. For that reason it’s good to start early!

I choose the new Online Exclusive bundle Spooky Halloween, and the coordinating Spooky Sweet DSP.

I embossed the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer with the Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine using the BASE plate #1 and the Embossing Plate #4.

I cut the Basic Black scrap with the bat die using the BASE plate #1, the Thin Die Adaptor #2 and the 2 cutting plates #3.

Adhere the Basic White embossed layer to the Base card.
Arrange the DSP strips on the upper half of the card and adhere over the embossed layer in a pleasing pattern.
Stamp the critter in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the sentiment on scrap pieces of Basic White CS. Die cut the critter and cut the sentiment piece to size.
Adhere the critter to the left-hand side of the DSP arrangement.

Using a direct to paper technique rub Versamark ink onto the edges of the embossed layer.
Using the brush that comes in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit (#159971) $27.00 dip the brush into the Silver embossing powder and then tap the powder from the brush onto the versamark ink covered paper. Heat with the Heat Tool until the embossing powder melts.

more color mondays – night of navy, misty moonlight and calypso coral

more color mondays – night of navy, misty moonlight and calypso coral

This year Stampin’ Up! added a new line of cardstock called Two-toned cardstock.

This cardstock is printed color, because the color is printed on the surface of the paper it leaves the core of the paper white! This opens up a world of possibilities for tearing and sanding!

Today’s More Color Monday color challenge card uses this new cardstock with embossing and sanding and features a rich color combination of Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight and Calypso Coral.

Measurements:
BASE: Night of Navy CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Misty Moonlight CS: (2) 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and a scrap
strip for the sentiment piece
Calypso Coral Two Toned cardstock:
3″ x 5 1/4″

I started with a different sentiment for this card but liked it so much that I decided to make this a birthday card for my best friend and soul mate, his birthday is today so if you see Kevin wish him a great one!

Take the two-toned cardstock and emboss with the Sunflower 3D embossing folder.
Take a sanding block or a nail file and gently rub over the embossed surface rubbing away a layer of cardstock to reveal the white core in elevated areas of the embossed design.

Emboss the 2 Misty Moonlight strips with the Mini Corrugated 3D embossing folder so that the corrugated lines are perpendicular to the long side of the strip. This will make the strips appear more like a ruffled effect when added to the card front.

Adhere the Misty Moonlight embossed strips to the top and bottom edges of the Sunflower embossed Two-toned cardstock.

Distress the edges of the Misty Moonlight Corrugated embossed edges.

Adhere the embossed images to the center of the card front.

Stamp the sentiment onto the strip scrap and fussy cut a banner edge to the right hand side
and adhere on top of the sunflower embossed area.

I added Navy Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots for a finished coordinated sparkle!

This new paper delivers a punch with the white core! It is now available in all the Stampin’ Up! Core and In Color Collections! Try some soon and see what all the excitement is about!

Now go and create some fun artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

sunflower embossing on designer series paper

sunflower embossing on designer series paper

I have had so much fun playing with the new Online Exclusive 3D Sunflower embossing folder – and today’s blog post is no exception!

Have you ever inked up an embossing folder?
Have you ever embossed Designer Series Paper? Have you ever combined these techniques?

Today that is exactly what we are experimenting with!

Measurements:
BASE: Petal Pink CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Everyday Skies DSP: 6″ x 6″ cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″
and save the 2″ x 5 1/4″
Balmy Blue CS: scrap for the sentiment die

This Everyday Skies DSP does not look like flowers necessarily but the background is subtle and perfect for this technique!

Using a brayer and Memento Tuxedo Black ink,
Ink the side with the Stampin’ Up! logo.
Place the 6″ x 6″ DSP in the folder with the side you wish to use face up towards the inked side of the folder.
Close the folder overe the DSP and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.
Cut the 6″ x 6″ DSP to 5 1/4″ and then cut at 4″.

Adhere the 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece onto the Basic White layer on the right-hand side of the layer leaving a 1/8″ border on the right.

Adhere the Basic White layer to the inside of the card base.

Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP piece to the card front leaving an even border the entire way around!
Stamp the sentiment from Mixed labels bundle on Balmy Blue CS with Tuxedo Black memento ink and die cut with the Mixed Labels die set.

Pop up the sentiment die onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the card front over the DSP.

I added three Neutral Matte Dots in Basic Black to finish off the card. Can you beleive that is Everyday Skies DSP coloring those Sunflowers?

Here is the same technique with a different pattern of Everyday Skies DSP – amazing how different just changing the pattern of the paper changes the entire look of the card!
I used some of my retired stash of DSP from the Lily Pond Lane DSP and these are the cards that resulted from two different patterns from that Designer Series Paper.
Try inking up one of the 3D embossing folders in your collection and see what combinations you can make!

Now go and create some art work of your very own with your folders and stamps – one stamp at a time!
