The inspiration for this card came from a video I saw from fellow demonstrator Dawn Griffith – thanks Dawn for the very cool idea. This fun fold is know as a pop and flip card. The Possibilities are endless!! I started with new items that demonstrators are allowed to order early in a pre-order! Interested in getting a discount on your purchases and getting the inside scoop on all the new and upcoming sets and accessories and news! Consider joining my team! This is a set I got for attending an exclusive demonstrator’s only on-line event – On Tour and this was my virtual swap card for the event. I joined demonstrators from Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Ohio and get to listen to presentations and share with one another in small group settings! Such FUN! This stamp set is called Etched in Nature (#155463) (Not available until the new catalog goes on line May 4th though sorry this is just a teaser!! but it will be worth the wait this catalog is awesome!)
Measurements:
Early Espresso Cardstock (#119686)
cut to 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″
cut to 4″ x 2 3/4″ scored at 1″ 2″ and 3″
cut to 2″ x 3/4″ score at 1″
Beauty of the Earth DSP (#155841)
cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 4″ x 3/4″
Basic White Cardstock (#159276)
cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ (for inside of card)
scrap piece to cut the second largest circle
from the Layering Circle dies (#151770)
First layer the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP on the card front by laying a line of Stampin’ Seal ONLY on the outer edge. Die cut the two layers with the largest smooth circle die from the Layering Circles die set.
Next adhere the inside Basic White layer to the inside of the card (I forgot to do this and had to rip up the insert to lay down this layer – so the next few pictures SHOULD have had a white layer showing on the inside of the card!)
take the two smaller Early espresso pieces of cardstock and adhere Tear & Tape (#154031) as show in the next photo!
Using your scrap piece of Basic White cardstock stamp the bird from the Etched in Nature stamp set and color with the following Stampin’ Blends: Dark Daffodil Delight (#154883), Balmy Blue combo pack (#154830), Calypso Coral combo pack (#154881), and Crumb Cake combo pack (#154882) or other colors you desire!
I am super excited about the new Basic Borders Die set (#155558) coming in May in the new Annual Catalog the cloud template is made from one of the dies in this set! I used a Stampin’ Blending Brush (#153611) and Balmy Blue Ink (#147105) to create the cloud background. Then I die cut the bird with the second largest smooth Circle die.
Layer the bird onto the Early Espresso large circle die
Next take the 4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock and remove the two equal strips of Tear and tape and adhere them in the inside top middle of the card as shown in photo below.
Fold this small piece of cardstock in half, remove the U shape of Tear and Tape and carefully close the card front down onto the folded cardstock as shown below. It will forma 1 inch rectangular box and should be in the center of the circle opening.
Next take the smallest Early Espresso cardstock piece and folded in half position the fold toward the bottom of the card and remove the adhesive strips that are touching the back of the card – see photo below.
Remove the top adhesive strips and holding it flat close the card front and carefully place the bird circle on top of the adhesive adhering it to the pop up mechanism, as shown below
Decorate the inside of the card with the smaller DSP piece and the sentiment pieces of cardstock. (May sure to add the sentiment low enough on the card as to not catch the pop and flip piece of cardstock as it closes with the card front.
Here is yesterdays Facebook Live putting this card together – Join me every Sunday evening 7pm (this one was a little late!) for a fun Stampin’ Up! project. Comment on the video her or on Facebook to be entered to win a prize!
