You might already know this about me but I LOVE black and white! Most of my wardrobe is black and white, I love most things black and white. At Christmas time I even refuse to allow my boys to watch my favorite Christmas movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, in anything but Black and White (no colorized version for us!!) Anyway..back to card making! In the new August to December mini catalog, there is a new Specialty Designer paper called Peaceful Place and it is stunning! Below are some samples I made with most of the 12 designs included in the 12″ x 12″ paper pack!
Card base is Smoky Slate cardstock (#131202) cut to 4 1/4″ x 11 and scored at 5 1/2″. I cut the snowflake and tree DSP to 4″ x 5 1/4″. This DSP is referred to as SPECIALTY Designer Series Paper due to the foiling that occurs in the paper and this one has loads of sparkle – the trees as well as the snowflakes all sparkle!
I used the Christmas To Remember Bundle and saved 10% and took the 1/2″ strip cut from the tree and snowflake piece of DSP and stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey ink (#149165) and die cut with the sentiment die.
I used two different patterns from the Peaceful Place Specialty paper, the Seasonal Labels dies (#156299) for the sentiment which is from the Encircled in Warmth stamp set (#156449) I added two small snowflake dies from the annual catalog So Many Snowflakes die set (#153560) and the new White Glittered Organdy Ribbon (#156408)
The Encircled in Beauty Die set (#155546) adds the extra details to this card. The larger die cuts a perfect circle (save that die you will see it on the next card!) The sentiment is from the new coordinating set in the August-December mini catalog Encircled in Warmth (#156449). The 12″ x 12″ paper for this card is interesting divided into 4 6″x6″ pieces and I decided for this card I would take one of the 6×6 segments and divide it into two cards the big tree for this card and the little trees for one of the following cards. I added Opal Rounds and that gorgeous White Glittered Organdy ribbon and easy card – done!
I used the circle die from the last card as a background to highlight the sentiment and used a scrap piece of DSP for the Encircled in Warmth stamp, a few Black Matte dots and some snowflake dies from the So Many Snowflakes die set (#153560) and this simple layout completes another card!
This is the other piece from the 6×6 images and I cut the trees and mountains image and layered it onto Basic Gray cardstock as the base, stamped directly on the base for the sentiment with Basic Gray ink and added Opal Rounds and the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon – which I am in love with!!
This DSP image is cut from a 12 x 12 full sheet scene which would be stunning as a scrapbooking page but I am making cards today so I cut part of the scene to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and added a Basic White die cut from the Encircled in Beauty dies, a piece of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon and some Opal Rounds to add to the sparkle (what you cannot see very well is the foiled snowflakes scattered throughout the dark tree’d scene – it is lovely!
While I think all of this paper lends itself well to making masculine cards I always think of masculine and plaid so this card is simple and perfect for either female or male! Maybe a little too much bling for a guy card but I couldn’t help myself!!
One last card with the pastel pearls as the embellishment, a 2 inch strip of Peaceful Place Paper and two die cuts. The snowflake is from the So Many Snowflakes dies and the sentiment is from the Encircled in Warmth stamp set (#156449) and the Encircled in Beauty dies. I had to finish it off with my favorite new ribbon!

I hope you liked the cards today featuring this new paper – I just loved creating with it for you! Hope you are able to go and create some art today – one stamp at a time!!

Happy Stampin’

Natalie
