Not to toot my own horn – but I do have to tell you how proud I am about this – it’s a technique I have not seen on the internet so it is one I made up!! I’m calling it Gilded Leafing Embedded Image Technique. I wanted to show lots of different ways to use the new Gilded Leafing Embellishment that became available in the new January to June 2021 Mini catalog (#154560) featured with the Fine Art Floral Suite, it is a gorgeous, delightfully soft gold leaf product that sticks to anything sticky so there are so many ways to use and adhere this to add unbelievable shine to your projects! In this Card sample, I started with a half sheet 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ of Poppy Parade cardstock (#119793) Scored at 4 1/4″ with my Stampin’ Trimmer (#152392) and creased the fold with a bone folder (#102300). I then adhered three layered Die cuts from the Perennials Petals Dies set (#154321) to the upper center of the card front and covered this embellishment with varying lengths of Tear and Tape Adhesive (#138995).
Remove the paper backing from the Tear and Tape Adhesive after fully covering the die cut or other desired embellishment (I have two other examples below – one using the Butterfly Wings double die and another using the Square Vellum Doilies (#152484))
I then placed a cello bag or you can save and use the left over paper from our sequin or dots adhesives (the shiny paper that holds those embellishments – the non stick papers) and burnished the leafing with my bone folder – this will allow the image embedded below the gilding to “pop” forward and allow the image to be more pronounced! Isn’t that fun!
I finished the card with a die cut from the Stitched So Sweetly die set (#153828) for the sentiment that came from the Pretty Perennials stamp set (#154435) in Poppy Parade ink (#147050). I added a few Artistry Blooms (#152477) sequins from the Artistry Blooms Suite (#154150).
This is my original sample using the Square Vellum Doilies (#152484) using the same technique! Love the way this turned out! This has a more distressed look as I did not use the paper over the Gilded leafing. I like both looks!
For this sample I used the Basic Patterns Decorative Masks (#150697). I secured the mask down with washi tape and placed a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White piece of Cardstock (#159276) underneath the mask. I pressed a freshly inked Versamark ink pad (#102283) through the mask. I then applied and embossed with Heat and Stick powder (#156110) and a heat tool (#129053) until just melted this becomes an adhesive (this will not be as long as normal embossing powders – Do NOT overheat or it will lose it’s stickiness!) Then cover the Heat and Stick “glue” with the Gilded Leafing embellishment (#154560) and rub until all the sticky surfaces are covered. Brush away excess back in to the container. I finished the card with die cuts from the Stitched Rectangle Die set (#151820) in Basic White cardstock (#159276) and Gold Metallic Foil (#132622) and Metallic Pearls (#146282). The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set (#152525).
,This sample uses the Art Gallery Bundle (#156227) and I applied Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755) and allowed it to dry to the tacky stage then applied the Gilded flakes to the sticky parts of the flower, rubbing it in and brushing off the excess.
Happy Stampin’
