more color mondays – misty moonlight, secret sea and crumb cake

OOHHH!! I love the way this More Color Monday challenge card turned out! Beautiful strong masculine colors with fabulous Glimmer sparkle!

Measurements:
BASE: Crumb Cake CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, 4″ x 5 1/4″
Misty Moonlight CS: 2″ x 5 1/2″
Secret Sea CS: 3 3/4″ x 4 1/4″
Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper: 1 3/4″ x 4″,
scrap for the stars
Basic White CS: scrap for die cut

Die cut the larger trees in the Secret Sea CS layer and the smaller trees out of the Misty Moonlight layer.

Place them on top of each other and adhere together.

Emboss the Crumb Cake layer in the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder.
Place the die cut strips on the embossed layer and cut off the excess on the Misty Moonlight layer. Adhere the small Misty Moonlight pieces cut off on the outside under and slightly above the Secret Sea layer.
Adhere the die cuts to the embossing layer and adhere to the base card.
Adhere the Glimmer Paper layer to the bottom of the card slightly overlapping the tree die cut layer.
Color the light blue Traditional Sparkling Sequins with the brush tip of the Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends.
Cut the larger sentiment die cut from the Peaceful Gardens die set and stamp the sentiment from the Light & Wonder stamp set in Secret Sea ink. Adhere to the bottom of the card over the Glimmer layer and the bottom of the tree die cuts.

Place the colored sequins around the sentiment.

I finished the card by die cutting the triple star die in the Secret Sea Glimmer Paper – this Glimmer paper is so pretty and by placing the three stars in the sky above the trees there is sparkles on the bottom as well as the top of the card! It balances it out!

If you do not have some of our Glimmer paper it is one of those great accessories as far as paper goes – a little goes a long way to make your cards next level!

Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

jolly holly cut out card

jolly holly cut out card

Did you know that the Jolly Holly Online Exclusives bundle contains a hybrid embossing folder that does a PARTIAL die cut on the holly background! This is such a cool technique – you can gently bend the holly leaves up to give the card front extra depth and dimension or tuck a sentiment card in between the holly leaves like I did on this card!

Measurements:
BASE: Cherry Cobbler CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, scrap for the word die
Garden Green CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″, scrap for the sentiment matte and the holly dies

Hybrid emboss and die cut the Jolly Holly leaves on the Garden Green CS layer.
Stamp two holly clusters in Garden Green ink. Using a Blender Pen pull the green ink inward to color the holly leaves. Using a Cherry Cobbler dark Stampin’ Blends marker color the berries in the holly clusters.

Die cut the White sentiment rectangle from the Jolly Holly die set, two holly leaf bundles and the word joy from the Cheery Cobbler CS.

Pop up the embossed background on Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the Cherry Cobbler card base.

Tuck the white sentiment rectangular die cut into the partially cut holly leaf background. Adhere with a little dab of Multipurpose Glue on the back of the sentiment rectangle and under the holly leaves that go over the rectangle.

Glue the Joy die to the sentiment matte and pop up the colored holly leaf beside the word.

Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White CS layer to the inside of the card.

I saved the 1/8″ strip I cut from the Garden Green CS and adhered it to the White layer.

Adhere the other colored holly leaf onto the Garden Green strip.

I adhered three red Traditional Sparkling Sequins around the sentiment to finish off this easy and fun Christmas card!

more color mondays – real red, old olive and pool party – swing door fun fold

Easy Christmas cards that look elegant are the best – don’t you think? I make a lot of Christmas cards to send out to people and I want them to look beautiful but be able to put many together in the shortest amount of time.

That being said – if you send out Christmas cards NOW is the time to start designing and ordering your supplies so you are not rushed to make and send them on time!

This fun fold attaches the DSP to a shorter piece of cardstock so it swings open and you can see both sides of the cardstock! I saw this card from a number of demonstrators and there was no name for it so I am naming mine a swing door fun fold card because that is what it reminds me of!

Measurements:
BASE: Old Olive CS: 5 1/2″ x 6″
scored at 4 1/4″, 1″ x 5 1/2″ or 5 1/4″, scraps
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: 3″ x 5 1/2″
Pool Party CS: scrap for die circle

Score the base at 4 1/4″ – place the shorter panel on the right-hand side. Adhere the Basic White layer on the inside of the card.
Cut the Traditions of Christmas DSP to 3″ x 12″ then cut to 5 1/2″ there will be a 1″ x 3″ left over from cutting two 5 1/2″ pieces. Adhere that to the top left-hand corner of the Basic White layer.
Turn the Dsp to the side you want on the inside and place a thin bead of glue down the right-hand side edge. Flip it over and glue to the left-hand edge of the small panel. Match up the right-hand top and bottom corners with the top and bottom edges of the back of the card.
Emboss the 1″ piece and attach to the front Old Olive panel. You choose if you want it to be the full length as shown here or 5 1/4″ length with a border as the final card shows.
Die cut a small circle from the Stylish Shapes die set.

Stamp the Have a Happy on a Old Olive 1/4″ strip and banner punch this (this is an upcoming Online Exclusive punch that is in the Banner Sayings bundle! – stay tuned to see it November 1st!)

Stamp the Christmas from Holly Jolly Stamp set in Old Olive ink on Old Olive cardstock.

Adhere the Christmas layer on the Pool Party circle and adhere the banner diagonally above the Christmas layer on the Pool Party circle.

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of all the components of the sentiment focal point.
Attach to the card in the center.

Add some gold embellishments to the card to enhance the gold foil and you have a lovely easily reproduced Christmas card!

Are you going to send some of your people a special handmade Christmas card this year? I am available to help you design and order your supplies if you need assistance – just call or text me!

pleated prism fun fold

pleated prism fun fold

Inspiration can come from anywhere!

I often look at Pinterest, other demonstrators work and websites and Facebook and Instagram reels – this card popped up on my Pinterest board from a sideline demonstrator named Susan C. – thanks for the inspiration!

This card is called a pleated prism fun fold and starts with a 4″ square of DSP – grab one from your stash and follow along with me!

Measurements:
BASE: Old Olive CS: 4 1/4″ x 11 scored at 4 1/4″
scraps for two die cuts
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and (2) 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for snowflake dies
DSP: 4″ x 4″

Emboss the three Basic White layers in the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder.
Score the DSP piece at 2″ and then mark with a pencil at 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 2 1/2″, and 3 1/4″ on both the top and bottom of the DSP piece.

Score from the top mark at 3/4″ to the bottom mark at 3 1/4″.

Score from the top mark at 1 1/2″ to the bottom 2 1/2″ mark on the bottom.

Score from the top 2 1/2″ mark to the bottom 1 1/2″ mark.

Score from the top 3 1/4″ mark to the 3/4″ bottom mark.

Fold the score lines into a Valley-Mountain-Valley-Mountain-Valley so that the first middle and last scores are valley folds and the second and fourth lines are mountain folds. Use a bone folder to make all of the score lines crisp.

Using the Stampin’ Seal + and placing the tip of the fold on the center of the score line for the card base – run a line of tape from the Stampin’ Seal + on the outside flat edge opposite to the pointed edge – adhere the flat outside edge to the inside front of the card base.
Run a line of tape down the outside flat edge of the pleated prism DSP piece and close the back of the card base over the DSP mechanism. Rub on the outside of the card over where the tape is adhered to the card to secure the pleated prism DSP piece.
Take a scrap of Old Olive CS and stamp a sentiment from the Snowflake Kisses stamp set and die cut with the Textured Notes dies.

Die cut the line of small snowflakes from the Snowflake Kisses die set and place three Glue Dots on the die cut around the sentiment and adhere the snowflakes.

Take a second scrap of Old Olive and die cut the second largest square die from the Stylish Shapes die set and add some snowflake dies to the top corner.

Adhere the two 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed layers on either side of the pleated prism DSP piece.

Adhere the Old Olive square die cut to the right hand side for a place to write.

Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed Basic White layer to the card front and pop up the Old Olive sentiment die piece in the center.
Add three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the outside of the card to finish it off with a little holiday sparkle!

Try this easy fun fold with your stash and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
