With easy and precise cutting you can make this angled tri-fold card in a snap! It’s a great way to highlight our beautiful Designer Series Paper. The sample below uses the Expressions in Ink DSP (#155464).
Start with a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of coordinating colored cardstock, here I used the Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color cardstock (#155710).
Score at 3 3/8″ and rotate the paper 180 degrees and score the opposite side at 3 3/8″ as well. Fold and burnish the edges with your bone folder!
Place the top left cardstock score line in the channel of the Stampin’ Trimmer and angle the paper top edge to the 1 1/2″ mark – cut a diagonal line. (Save the angled cardstock piece for another card! – see bonus samples at the end of this blog post!)
Place the point of the left sided angle cut in the middle of the cutting channel of your Stampin’ Trimmer and slide the bottom left edge of the acrdstock to the 1″ mark and cut another diagonal.
The completed angled cuts will look like this when complete – see photo below.
Flip the paper over and place the right hand top score line in the center of the cutting channel and move your cardstock so the outside top edge point is at the 1 1/2″ mark which is the end of the right side of the Stampin’ Trimmer! (one of the things I LOVE about the Stampin’ Trimmer is that it has the additional measurements on the right side of the cutting channel so that you can make small measurement cuts on either side of the cutting channel! Then rotate the paper like before so the new top edge point is in the middle of the cutting channel and twist the bottom edge of the paper so that it lines up to the 1″ mark and cut the diagonal slice.
Choose coordinating DSP and cut two pieces of 3 1/4″ x 5 1/4″. Determine if the paper has a directional pattern and make sure that you consider that when making your angled cuts so that the paper is right side up if applicable. My paper choice did not have a direction so it did not matter but you do want to make sure that you cut a right and left side.
This cut can be a little tricky so some adjusting may be necessary.
Start with the top right corner and place the point in the middle of the channel as before and swing the left edge point to the 1 1/2″ mark and cut a diagonal line.

Then place the left point just created on the left side of the channel instead of the direct middle this will allow the angle cut to fit inside the base cardstock. Swing the bottom point of the DSP to the 1″ line and cut.
Take the second piece of DSP and cut it the opposite way place the top left corner in the middle of the channel and angle the top right corner to the edge of the right side of the Stampin’ Trimmer at the 1 1/2″ mark. Cut the diagonal slice.
Place the newly made corner on the right edge of the channel and angle the bottom corner to the 1″ mark. Cut the diagonal slice.
Layer the DSP on the outside flaps of the card trimming any edge that is not evenly spaced. Adhere and Create a 1′ x 11″ belly band to keep your card closed. Decorate the belly band .
Add a Basic White layer 4″ x 5 1/4″ to the inside of the card and decorate as desired.
