Today I am going to show you how to get depth in the wave image from the Waves of the Ocean stamp using sponge daubers and the stamparatus!

Measurements:

Pacific Point Base Cardstock
5 1/2′ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Basic Black layer
4″ x 5 1/4″ cut to 1/8 larger on each side of
the final size of the Basic White layer
Basic White layer
4″ x 5 1/4″ cut after stamping

First place the Basic White cardstock layer in the left hand corner of the stamparatus and lay the wave image red rubber side down on the cardstock and close the acrylic arm of the stamparatus down onto the sticky side of the stamp and pick it up on the acrylic plate.

Open up the stamparatus and ink the wave stamp in Balmy Blue ink and stamp th image on the Basic White cardstock layer. Reink if the coverage is not to your liking or did not cover the while way.
Using sponge daubers and other blue hued colors (I used Pacific Point and Misty Moonlight) Tap the sponge dauber on the ink pad and then randomly daub ink direct to the stamp in a few spots. Stamp the image and then redo in the other color. Add more color as desired.
The added layers of color give the wave more depth and dimension.

I added a sentiment from the Waves of the Ocean stamp set.

I cut the Basic White cardstock down around the image of the wave and then mounted it onto Basic Black and cut to 1/8″ border around the wave stamped layer.

I tied White Glittered Organdy ribbon to the top of these two layers.
I mounted these layers onto the Pacific Point base card and added Rhinestones from this gorgeous collection called Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels.
I just love being around the water it is a true representation of peacefulness to me. This card was made for my cousin as her family is dealing with the crisis of cancer in their youngest child, Natalie, who is 17 months old. She has been admitted to St. Jude’s in Memphis. If you pray, please add prayers for Natalie and her family for their continued strength and peace.
One of the reasons that many of us make cards is to share them with others and brighten someones day – send a card today to someone you care about and make their day. Create some art of your own and share it – one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’ and Be Well,

Natalie
