more color mondays – wild wheat, lost lagoon and mossy meadow

more color mondays – wild wheat, lost lagoon and mossy meadow

This Designer Series Paper Thoughtful Journey DSP was love at first sight! These water-colored works of art are stunning and make putting a beautiful card together so super easy!
Do you love making cards with Designer Series Paper go you want a sampling of all of the papers in the new catalog? I am doing a paper share and you can get a 6″ x 6″ piece of every double sided design in the new catalog. This card uses a 2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of DSP so you could make 3 of these cards from one sheet of 6″ x 6″ piece of paper!

Interested in a paper share – contact me for all the details!

Measurements:
Base: Mossy Meadow 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Wild Wheat strips (2) 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Lost Lagoon strips 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
DSP: 2″ x 5 1/2″
Basic White scraps for 2 sentiment circles
4″ x 5 1/4″ layer for the inside

I punched a circle from scrap Basic White cardstock from the 2 3/8″ circle punch then picked one of the circle dies from the Spotlight on Nature dies that fits inside that punched circle and die cut a slightly smaller circle for the sentiment.
I stamped the sentiment thinking of you from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set in Lost Lagoon ink and adhered the two circles together.
I cut the 6″ x 6″ dsp to 5 1/2″ at the bottom of the scene and saved that strip for the inside of this card. I cut the 6″ x 5 1/2″ ppiece into three equal parts at 2″, 4″ and 6″ that way I can make three of these cards from one sheet of 6″ x 6″ DSP!
I adhered the Wild Wheat CS strips to each long edge making the width even on both sides and from top to bottom.
I then adhered the Lost Lagoon strips to the outside edges of the Wild Wheat strips making sure they are evenly spaced as well.
Adhere the DSP and strip piece to the left edge of the card base I left a equal amount of Mossy Meadow showing on the left-hand edge.
I popped up the sentiment circle on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed in the lower right-hand corner.
Adhere a Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer to the inside of the card and add that 1/2″ strip to the bottom to tie in with the DSP on the card front!
I added three Adhesive-backed Neutral sequins to finish off this simple card that allows this beautiful DSP to shine through!

Grab some of our gorgeous DSP and make an easy card and send it out to someone you love! Now go and create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – misty moonlight, pebbled path and gray granite

more color mondays – misty moonlight, pebbled path and gray granite

Well I just wasn’t done with this Pebbled Path color so i added it to my More Color Monday Color Challenge! I paired it with Gray Granite and Misty Moonlight which also has that gray dusky tone so they all work really well together!

Were you a coloring book girl when you were little – I was but it is tedious for many people and this card is a great way to use a stamp set without having to color the flowers – who knew that flowers look stunning in neutral shades of gray!!!

Measurements:
BASE: Pebbled Path 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Gray Granite layer 4″ x 5 1/4″
scraps of Misty Moonlight and basic White
for the sentiment

I stamped the long sentiment from Wonderful Thoughts in Misty moonlight on a scrap strip of Basic White and punched it using the Banners Pick a Punch on both ends.
Adhere it to a wider strip of Misty Moonlight and cut the edges in the Banners Pick a Punch as well to match the Basic White layer.
Stamp the large roses in Pebbled Path ink onto the Gray Granite layer.
Adhere the Misty Moonlight Inner Braided ribbon around the Gray Granite layer and pop up the sentiment piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the layer.
Adhere the Gray Granite layer to the Pebbled Path card base.
I added Iridescent Pearls to finish off the card but decided I wanted a butterfly! It is ok to redesign a card in the middle if it doesn’t look finished to you – feel free to experiment!
I moved the Pearls and added a butterfly that I colored with Misty Moonlight ink and a Blending Brush to finish the card!

Try a tone on tone look for your next creation – no go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

double stepped pop out card

double stepped pop out card

This is a great fun fold for a special occasion! It is rather simple but the extra layer and mechanism make it extra special!

This Double Stepped Pop Out card was inspired by several versions I saw on pinterest and I adapted the measurements to my own version!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at
4 1/2″ and 2 1/8″ for a typical Z fold format
Boho Blue CS: (2) 2″ x 5 1/4″ embossed
DSP: inside piece 4″ x 5 1/4″
outside piece 2 1/2″ x 1/4″ for above words and 2 1/4″ x 2″ for under the word (these measurements will vary based on sentiment size)
Basic White: front piece: 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
inside step: 3″ x 4 1/2″
inside pop up mechanism 4″ x 3 3/4″
Berry Burst: 2 3/4″ x 4″
Lost Lagoon: 3″ x 4 1/4″

Emboss the two Boho Blue cardstock pieces with the Basics 3D embossing folder. Adhere the (2) 2″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Boho Blue embossed cardstock to the smaller 2 1/8″ scored sections of the Z fold. Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP piece to the inside of the card as shown below.
Score the 3 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock every 3/4″. Use the bone folder and burnish the score lines and adhere the fifth section to the first section making a box.
Adhere the box in the middle of the card against the inside score line – first adhering to the back of the card against the DSP.
Add adhesive to the left portion of the square and adhere to the left inside of the card by closing the card front down over the square.
Stamp the outside sentiment onto the smaller Basic White cardstock piece in the center upper portion and adhere the dsp sections around the sentiment. Adhere the white cardstock to the Berry Burst cardstock and adhere the Berry Burst section to the Lost Lagoon.
Stamp the larger white cardstock with the inside sentiment and leave at least an 1/8″ from the right edge so that the sentiment doesn’t peek out when the card is closed.
Adhere to the middle of the square pop out mechanism with Stampin’ Seal adhesive.
Close the card and place the front sentiment piece so that it is evenly bordered with the middle pop out section and adhere to the outermost Z fold section.
I added some Opaque adhesive backed Gems to the front sentiment piece and this is the finished card from a variety of angles!
Such a fun card and an easy fun fold!

Hope this inspired you to try it out and go and create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!
