Today’s colors are more “springy” than Fall but they were calling to me so these are the colors you get to play with this week! Flirty Flamingo, Soft Seafoam and Granny Apple Green!
I used heat embossing as the technique and I really love the look of heat embossing it requires a heat tool which is similar to a streamlined hair dryer but it gets hotter and more focused! It melts the powder that is attached through a wet sticky clear embossing ink called Versamark.

Measurements:
BASE: Soft Seafoam 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
scrap for sentiment piece
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Stamp the floral and leaf designs in Versamark ink randomly around the Basic white cardstock layer and sprinkle with clear embossing powder.

Using the heat tool, melt the powder until it just turns shiny.
Using Blending Brushes, apply ink to the Basic White layer in a circular motion.
Stamp the birthday sentiment onto a Soft Seafoam scrap in Granny Apple Green ink and then overlay the thin sprig stamp in Soft Seafoam ink stamped off to create a lighter image in the background of the sentiment piece. Die cut with the second smallest banner from the Nested Essentials die set.
Tie the lovely new Silver and white Sheer ribbon from the Sept to Dec Mini Catalog around the center of the Basic White embossed layer.
Adhere the embossed layer to the Soft Seafoam card base and then using Stampin’ Dimensionals pop up the sentiment piece over the ribbon.
Add three 2022-2024 In Color Pearls to the card front to add a little bling in green! Your card is ready to send off in the mail and spread some joy!

Go out and create some art of your own in this color challenge trio – one stamp at a time!

color blocking card

color blocking card

Color Blocking can be accomplished in a number of ways – I have highlighted some ways in previous posts but today I am detailing a card that gets it’s color blocking with colored cardstock and die images!

Measurements:
Base: Bermuda Bay CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Scraps for die cutting
Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake and
Coastal Cabana
Scrap strip of Basic White
Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed in Fern 3D

Cut a different sized Stitched Rectangle out of each colored cardstock. Take a scrap strip of Basic White CS and place a strip of Stampin’ Seal on the strip of CS and begin to lay down the die cut rectangles.
Emboss the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer in Fern 3D embossing folder and adhere to the Bermuda Bay cardstock base.
Using the Stamparatus and the large Gingko Branch stamp, place the colored cardstock rectangles that are bound together and stamp in Versamark (this wet sticky clear ink will make a tone on tone image on each of the different colored cardstocks appearing like the image is stamped in the different matching colors of the cardstock)
Remove the stamped image from the Stamparatus and turn over and adhere Tear N Tape to the back side (because you are adhering over an embossed surface that is uneven the Tear N Tape is a great choice to secure the piece to the base!)
In Tuxedo Black Memento ink stamp the thank you from the Something Fancy stamp set on the small Bermuda Bay Stylish Shapes circle.
pop it up on Dimensionals and place on the card front.
Add Iridescent Pearls to the card and you have a lovely tone on tone color blocked image!
Try this technique and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

pretty medallion embossed resist card

pretty medallion embossed resist card

Embossed resist is such a cool technique!
The Pretty Medallions background stamp is a perfect stamp for this technique!

I started with a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card scored at 4 1/4″ of Basic White cardstock.

I inked the background stamp with Versamark and Heat set with a heat tool until the Clear embossing powder melted.

Using three inks: Starry Sky, Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party and three Blending brushes I burnished color starting with the Starry sky in the middle in a circular design and then radiating outward with Tahitian Tide in the middle and Parakeet Party on the periphery.
Keep burnishing with color until you get the color depth desired.
I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set on a Stylish Shapes banner die in Starry Sky ink. Pooped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and added 2022-2024 In Color Decorative Dots embellishments.
I added Parakeet Party Metallic Woven ribbon to finish the card with coordinating bling!

Hope you enjoyed this easy technique and are able to try your hand at emboss resist soon. Go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

jacobs coat card technique

jacobs coat card technique

Jacob’s Coat is an easy, fun and colorful technique. I started with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White piece of cardstock. I applied daubs of color in Real Red (#147084), Poppy Parade (#147050), Melon Mambo (#147051), Daffodil Delight (#147094), Mango Melody (#147093), Flirty Flamingo (#147052), Gorgeous Grape (#147099) ink with Sponge Daubers (#141714).
OK at this point it looks like a hot mess – doesn’t it! but just wait I promise the end result will be stunning! (If you have an Embossing Buddy – these are retired from stamping up but well worth the investment if you can find one – this is an antistatic little pillow filled with a chalking substance that puts a thin coat over the cardstock surface to stop the powder from sticking anywhere but on the Versamark inked areas – rub it on the cardstock surface) Next I pulled out my Stamparatus (#149276) and mounted the Butterfly Brillance stamp set (#155092) to the hinged plate and inked the stamp with a freshly inked Versamark Pad (#102283) and then stamped the butterfly images over the colored piece of cardstock.
Apply Clear embossing powder over the entire surface. Tap away the excess powder and heat set with a Heat Tool (#129053).
Rub Tuxedo Black Momento Ink direct to the paper until the entire surface is covered and then using a paper towel rub the excess black ink off the embossed portions of the card front and the color emerges like magic!
I finished this card by adding a Gorgeous Grape Sheer ribbon (#154572) wrapped around the colored cardstock layer then mounted that layer onto a Basic white cardstock layer measuring 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and then mounted those two layers onto a Real Red cardstock base measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored in the center at 4 1/4″
The card I made in the Facebook Live video I did not use the Embossing buddy and did not brush off the excess powder so it is not as defined as the first card shown above. If you do not have an embossing buddy you can try a soft bristle brush dipped in a small amount of cornstarch and brushed onto the card surface (I haven’t tried this myself because I have an embossing buddy but am told this trick works)
Here is another sample everyone is a little different depending upon the colors used below
