BASE: Strawberry Slush CS: (2) 4 1/4″ x 11″
scraps for dies
DSP: (2) 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
scraps for dies

Score the Strawberry Slush CS at 5 1/2″ and cut from the middle score line top edge to the bottom corner on both pieces.
Cut a 1/4″ off of only one of the stright sides opposite the diagonal cut.
Adhere the two pieces of cardstock together with the piece that is 1/4″ shorter on the inside with the top and bottom and score lines all lined up!
Cut the 2 DSP layers in half diagonally and then paying attention to the direction of the pattern
cut the layers that will match up with the triangles on the outside of the card 1/4″ off both straight sides.
I stamped the inside sentiment in Strawberry Slush ink onto the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer make sure it is lower than the criss cross so it is hidden when the card is closed.
I adhered one of the 1/4″ DSP discards below the sentiment.
Adhere the diagional DSP pieces. to the outside of the diagonal criss cross panels of the card.
I die cut the Large Flower from the Pretty Florals dies and the Bloom word die from the Sweet Blooms die set in Strawberry Slush cardstock and die cut the word matte from the Sweet Blooms dies and the inside detail of the flower from the Pretty Florals dies in Basic White.
I adhered the white inside flower detail to the large flower in strawberry slush and adhered it to the outside diagonal card panel so it lined up where the criss cross intersects.
I adhered the white word matte below the flower.
I adhered the Strawberry Slush cardstock word die onto the Basic White matte.
I adhered the 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls to the outside of the card to finish it off!

gate fold card – just a simple change can make a big difference!

gate fold card – just a simple change can make a big difference!

A traditional Gate Fold card is a card that has a split in the center and swings open like a gate. This is a gate fold card with a twist – the scores are shifted so that the card opens up on the side! This is one of the cards we will be making in class next Thursday, March 18th and Friday, March 19th! Interested in attending in person by appointment or virtually on ZOOM – I have very limited spots open! Message me soon to get signed up!

Measurements:

Colored Cardstock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 2 3/4″ ( I actually hand fold the second score line so that the seem buts up to the other side as close as possible)
1 1/4″ piece of DSP
2″ x 3″ piece of Basic White cardstock or appropriate length and width to accommodate your sentiment and chosen punch or die cut
embellishments and stamps to decorate the card

I score a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Real Red cardstock (#102482) at 2 3/4″ with my Stampin’ Trimmer (#152392) so that you have a left front panel that measures 2 3/4″ x 5 1/2″. Then I rolled the other end of the card to butt up against the left flap and once the edges are aligned I creased the right side of the card with my bone folder (#102300) (it will be approximately scored at 1 1/2″ – but if you score it there first, the edges might not line up correctly and this makes the card!

Cut a 1 1/4″ piece of coordinating Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the center of the right flap.

Using the small flower images from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp set (#154394) (outline and fill image) I stamped a tone on tone background for the left flap.

I die cut from the Painted Labels die set (#151605) and stamped it in Real Red ink (#147084) to match the Cardstock,  and used a sentiment from the Sweet Strawberries stamp set. .

I stamped in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink (#132708) the Strawberry outline on the Berry Delightful DSP from Sale-a-bration (So sorry to see that go away!) and using the Strawberry Builder Punch(#154239), I punched out 2 strawberries. From a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock (#146990) and coordinating Granny Apple Green ink (#147095) I stamped and punched out two strawberry toppers.

Optional: Cut a 4″ x 5 1/4 ” piece of Basic white cardstock or die cut the largest rectangle from the Rectangular Stitched Dies (#148551) for the inside of the card and stamp/decorate if desired!

Adhere the Sentiment label ONLY to the left side flap and allow the right half of the label to hang over the right flap.  Decorate the card with the strawberries and stems and your card is ready!
