just love getting happy mail especially swapping with my sister demonstrators

One of my favorite parts about being a demonstrator is the opportunity to meet and create with like-minded crafters from around the globe! And boy are they creative and freely giving! They share ideas and tips and tricks and we get to Swap together! Here are a few of the swap cards from the last few months.. Where ever I kept the demonstrators name that created it I will give credit and if you recognize your card and I have not given you credit -please email me and let me know which is yours and I will get the recognition up with your lovely card!
making frames with concentric dies

making frames with concentric dies

One of the fun things you can do with any concentric die set is use two at the same time to make a frame Below in Misty Moonlight Cardstock I layered two concentric rectangule dies from the Scalloped Contour Die Set (#155560), ran it through my Mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine (Or as it is affectionately known among demonstrators as the “Mini boss!”
I used the “frame” section to make this first card by Layering a Black and White DSP 2 inch section from the Pattern Party DSP (#155426), then adhering the Misty Moonlight frame then a Basic White die cut rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Die set (#151690). I topped the card front off with a black die cut from the Penned Flowers Dies (#155557) and added three Artistry Blooms Sequins (#152477)
The card above and below use the same outside die (the largest rectangular die from the Scalloped Contour Dies (#155560) but the layering smaller die is different with each card. The card above used the next concentric die from the Scalloped Contour die set, so there are scallops inside the frame as well! I layered a beautiful piece of Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series paper (#155464) and die cut the large intricate flower die from the Penned Flowers die set. I popped up the sentiment from Art Gallery (#158201) on Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) and added Gold Metallic Pearls to the sentiment image (146282).
The card below however uses the inside die cut from the Stitched Rectangles die set (#151820) for a more tailored look. I mounted a smaller piece of DSP cut from a smaller Stitched Rectangle die. Popped up a Flower image and the sentiment from the Hand Penned Petals Bundle (#155492) all mounted to a Fresh Freesia cardstock base (155613).
The next two cards are done from the same cut frame using both the positive and negative spaces from the die cutting!
The first card uses the frame created when two concentric Layering Circles dies are used (#151770) I layered a Highland Heather circle die in the center. added flowers and the sentiment from the Color and Contour Stamp set (#154994) and tghe sentiment is stamped on a die cut from the Scalloped Contour dies from the Color and Contour Bundle (##158356) I finished the card with a llittle bling from the 2021-2022 In Color Jewels (#155571)
The second card uses the negative space of the frame cut outs and used the lighter pattern on the back a more subtle look. I die cut Penned Flowers in Highland Heather Cardstocka nd added Pastel Pearls to the card (#154571)
In a version of Rip and Flip technique I cut DSP with two concentric dies from the Scalloped Contours dies and flipped the inside one to the opposite side! Used another pattern from the Pattern Party DSP and mounted the frame on a diagonal for some interest. Added sentiment, flower and Fresh Freesia open Weave Ribbon (#155615)
This last sample used the Stitched Rectangle dies but not two immediately next to one another so that the resulting frame is wider and with the lovely Hand Penned DSP you definitely want to show it off! I added a Basic Black cardstock Die from the largest floral image die from the Penned Flowers dies added Pastels Pearls and a popped up sentiment.to finish the card.
Hope you enjoyed this fun and simple way to get more use out of your die set! Now go and create art – one stamp at a time!

new linen specialty paper and collage technique

new linen specialty paper and collage technique

A collage technique is a fun one – combining stamps on a page to create a cohesive collection from a variety of images! Normally used to create a vintage look as in this example – I used the Stamp set Very Verasailles (#149275) and the New Linen Specialty paper (#155681) to create this feel!

Measurements:
Basic White Cardstock
base card 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
piece to back linen 4″ x 5 1/4″
Early Espresso 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
Linen Specialty paper 4″ x 5 1/4″

Using Blender Brushes (#102845) I started with the lightest brown ink – Crumb cake (#147116) and starting off the page, I colored the entire surface of the linen specialty paper.
Next I swirled the Soft Suede ink (#147115) around the edges going slightly more in towards the center.
Finally I added Early Espresso ink (#147114) to the outside edges.
Next I stamped the images starting first with the largest images and filled in the space with progressively smaller stamped images – covering and occasionally overlapping the images.
Next I stamped in Soft Suede the medallion image and placed the thank you sentiment in the center of the stamped image.
I then fussy cut the image using our Paper Snips Scissors (#103579) and blended color on the edges of the image with the Blender Brush.
I used a Blender Brush direct to the ink pad to color the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon (#155672) in the Soft Suede ink! (One of my favorite all time ribbon techniques especially with this ribbon – it is so awesome to have every possible color with just a little ink and the Pale Papaya Open Weave ribbon!!)
I mounted the Early Espresso cardstock onto the white base card and laid the ribbon on top of the early espresso cardstock.
I peeled the backing off the Linen Specialty paper and adhered to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Place Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) on the back of the linen piece and mount over the ribbon making sure that the ribbon is placed in between the Dimensionals so you can slide to adjust it!
Tie the ribbon and place dimensionals onto the sentiment piece.
Adhere the sentiment piece to the cardfront! Place Opal Rounds (#154289) on the card front to finish off this card with a little sparkle!
Here is the finshed card – I hope this inspires you to go and create your own art – one stamp at a time!

pretty flowers 3D embossing folder

pretty flowers 3D embossing folder

How many ways can you use this gorgeous 3D Embossing Folder? Well, the possibilities are endless! Yesterday I did my weekly Facebook LIVE showing just a few of the MANY ways to use this very pretty folder. One of the new 3D folders in the latest annual catalog this Pretty Flowers 3D embossing folder has endless possibilities (#155428).

I started with Shimmery White cardstock (#101910) cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed in the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine (#149653) with the new Pretty Flowers Folder.

The first sample below I used Sponge Daubers (#133773) and direct to the folder on the side with the Stampin’ Up! logo I sponged Crushed Curry ink (#147087) onto the flower images and Pear Pizzazz ink (#147104) onto the leaf images. Using a Stampin’ Spritzer (#126185) with water inside – I spritzed the folder, added the Shimmery White Cardstock and embossed it with the Pretty Flowers folder. What you get is a subtle colored background and foreground embedded into the embossed image! I added a hello sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set (#155052) stamped in Crushed Curry ink ona Stitched Rectangles die (#151820).

The next sample I used the Blending Brushes (#153611) in the same two colors – Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz and colored the flowers with the Curry and the leaves with the Pear. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set and accented the card with Artisrty Blooms adhesive-backed sequins (#152477) and Polka Dotted Tulle ribbon (which is retired – sorry).
Tis next sample uses the Stampin’ Blends in Highland Heather light (#154887) and Light Pear Pizzazz Blends (which is also retired) gently with the side of the brush tip I colored the flowers purple and leaves green. I used the thanks sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink (#147099) on a Scalloped Contours die (#155560) I wrapped the top layer in Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon (#154572) and added Pastel Pearls to the Sentiment focal piece (#154571).
In this sample card, I used the Water painters (#151298) in Highland Heather ink adding water to make a watercolor wash to paint the flowers and Granny Apple Green ink (#147095) for the leaves. I added the sentiment to the Tailor Made Tags dies (#155563) and the Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon and mounted it onto Gorgeous Grape cardstock (#146987).
Using Watercolor Pencils, lightly color the flowers in pink and the leaves in green and using the Water Painters blend the color to make the color smooth. I mounted this piece onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock (#131201)
I took one of the samples that I watercolored before the video and cut it into 1/2″ sections and adhered it to a Granny Apple Green cardstock base (#146990) and added a sentiment stamped on an Ornate Layers Die (#152726) and added some Pastel Pearls and Grogeous Grape Sheer Ribbon!
I added layers to this sample using Stampin’ Blends and extra sparkle with the Wink of Stella!

This is a MUST HAVE for any of my flower lovers!

I hope that I inspired you to go out and create art one stamp at a time! Until next time…
