more color mondays – pretty peacock, gold and pecan pie

Today’s More Color Monday card is one that we are making in today’s Studio Stamp-a-Stack class it is bold and easy to make!

Occasionally I will revisit an old card sketch challenge to show you another way to interpret the sketch – this time instead of using the circle image literally I used diamonds for the center focal point and changed the colors for a different feel!
This is a re-visitation of Card Sketch #106!

Measurements:
BASE: Pecan Pie CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Pretty Peacock CS: 3″ square, 5/8″ x 3 1/2″
Luxe Foliage Specialty Paper: 2 1/2″ square
Gold Foil CS: 2 1/2″ square
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″

I die cut the Luxe Foliage Specialty Paper with the Tile Garden Die set.
I die cut the Gold Foil with a Stylish Shapes square that was slightly larger than the Tile Garden die chosen.
I die cut the Pretty Peacock square with the larger Tile Garden square die.
I embossed the Basic White CS layer with the Rustic Check 3D embossing Folder
Adhere the embossed layer to the Pecan Pie card base.
Adhere the Gold Foil square at an angle onto the Pretty Peacock square.
Adhere the Luxe Foliage square onto the Gold Foil diamond placing it exactly like the pretty Peacock square.
Stamp the “grateful for you” from the Elegant Leaves stamp set in Versamark ink and heat emboss with WOW Gold embossing powder with a Heat Tool.
Cut banner edges into both ends and pop up the sentiment piece over the diamond focal piece.
Adhere the sentiment focal piece to the upper center of the embossed layer and add Gold Adhesive-Backed Dots as a coordinating accent!

more color mondays – daffodil delight, pecan pie and old olive

Today is a TWOFER! That is two for the price of one – not only is it a fun Fall Color challenge for our weekly More Color Mondays color challenge but it is a sketch challenge also!

This easy card sketch #135 uses the bright and cheery Sunflower Fields DSP and the Sunflower 3D embossing folder which is one of my ALL -Time Favorite folders and I am said to say that it has moved onto the LAST CHANCE LIST! Do not wait this is one of those folders you will be sad you did not get – the detail is gorgeous and it WILL NOT LAST LONG (I predict)!

Measurements:
BASE: Daffodil Delight CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, 1 1/4″ x 2 3/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Old Olive CS: 1 3/8″ x 3″
Pecan Pie CS: 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
DSP: (3) 1″ x 4″

I am SO SAD to see this embossing folder go – it is one of my ALL TIME favorites – if this is one that you have admired DO NOT WAIT it has moved onto the LAST CHANCE LIST and I do not think this will last long!

emboss the Basic White layer with the Sunflower 3D embossing folder.

Adhere the embossed layer onto the card front of the Daffodil Delight card base.
Take (3) 1″ x 4″ pieces of Sunflower Fields DSP and start on one side and adhere the DSP strip down.
TIP: Whenever I adhere strips across a layer or card surface I ALWAYS adhere the two side strips and then position the center strip last – this is the easiest way to evenly space the strips. Adhere down the strip on the opposite side second.
Adhere the center DSP strip last this way you can position it evenly between the two side strips!
Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment in Black ink on the Daffodil Delight small layer from the Framed and Fabulous stamp set from the NEW Hot Foil Release of products this sentiment set is so awesome even if you do not have the Hot Foil system this set is an all purpose sentiment set with great circle dies as well as the Hot Foil dies!
I added three Darling Duckling Flat Pearls from the 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls embellishments set and popped up the sentiment onto Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added it to the card front over the three strips of DSP.

This is one of the cards we are making in my October card class – join us for the last two sessions on Tuesday the 13th in Greenville PA at the library from 4:30pm – 6:30pm – RSVP directly to the library at 724-588-5490 or on Tuesday the 20th at the Linesville PA library from 2-4 pm RSVP to the library directly at 814-683-4354.

This is the stepped up version I double matted the sentiment layer with Old Olive CS and Pecan Pie CS to make it pop a little bit more!

frosted pinecone spanner card

frosted pinecone spanner card

It’s wild to think that you can take a standard card and with two simple cuts you can create a WOW card. Same dimensionals – TOTALLY different results!

The spanner card starts out as a standard card and then something magical happens with two cuts! Stick around and I will show you how to make this fun fold card!

Measurements:
BASE: Pecan Pie CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Pecan Pie Two-toned CS: (4) 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White CS: 3 1/4″ x 4″, 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Score the card base at 4 1/4″.

Place the right-hand edge of the card at 1″ (on the right-hand side of the cutting track) with the top of the card at the top of the Stampin’ Trimmer upper edge and the score line in the middle.

Place the cutting blade at the score line and cut upwards to the top edge of the card at 1″ in.

Move the card base to the right so that the left-hand edge aligns to the 1″ mark at the left hand side of the cutting track.

Place the cutting blade in the score line and cut upwards to the top of the card base.

Move the left-hand edge to the

Take your four 3/4″ pieces of Two-tone cardstock and emboss two of them on the light side in the 3D Textured Tree Ring embossing folder.

Take the other two strips and stamp the splatter image on the light side in Pecan Pie ink.

Adhere the two stamped strips about 1/8″ in on the inside of the card base leaving 1/8″ even border on the sides and top and bottom of the card. Adhere to both sides of the inside of the card (these strips will be hidden underneath the top flaps when the card is closed.)
Blend the diagonal edges of one of the Basic White 3 1/4″ x 4″ pieces and adhere to the middle of the inside of the card base.
Stamp the inside sentiment in Pecan Pie ink to the center of this inside Basic White layer.
Adhere the two embossed strips of Two-tone CS to the front outside panels leaving an even 1/8″ border on top, bottom and sides.
Using the Stampin’ Positioner because of the large stamp image of the pinecone, take the second Basic White 3 1/4″ x 4″ layer and position the layer under the pinecone stamp in the Stampin’ Positioner.

Add Pecan Pie ink to the stamp and stamp onto the Basic White layer.

Using a water painter wet the brush and drawing from the stamped lines inward draw the ink into the pinecone and stem to watercolor the image.

Using a blender pen, dip the tip into the lid of the Peaceful Pine ink pad with ink on it and use the pen like a colored marker and draw over the pine needle images.

Using blending brushes blend the edges of the pinecone layer with Peaceful Pine and Pecan Pie inks.

Using a White Gel pen I added white lines above the Peaceful Pine marker lines to look like a snow effect!

Adhere the pinecone image layer to the center front panel.
Take the 1/2″ strip and stamp a straight line sentiment across the middle of the strip in Pecan Pie ink.

Blend the edges in Pecan Pie ink and a blending brush.

Add adhesive ONLY 3/4″ in from the outside edges and secure over the two outside panels of the card – this creates a “spanner” piece to connect the two outside panels to act as one unit and “span” the gap leaving the middle panel to become another layer to the card!

This is what the card looks like when you lift the first spanner layer open to reveal layer number 2 which is the card front’s original middle panel!
Adhere three embellishments to the spanner strip and this WOW card is completed!

Try making a spanner card soon with your own stash and see how easy it is to make something special! Now it’s your turn to create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – pretty peacock, pecan pie and crumb cake

more color mondays – pretty peacock, pecan pie and crumb cake

Today’s More Color Mondays theme colors today are Pretty Peacock, Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake – I did not initially get this Stamp/die bundle but was so drawn to it and all of the samples that I found I had to break down and get it!

This fun fold is so simple, it is a regular card with an extra score line which I ended up bending backwards and securing after decorating it with all the lovely dies from this set! I love the consecutive large dies that come with the die set there are so many possibilities!

Measurements:
BASE: Pretty Peacock CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″
scraps for dies
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
Pecan Pie CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
scraps for dies
Crumb Cake CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
scraps for dies

Score the BASE at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″.

Bend the base card back at 1 1/4″ score line and in half at the 4 1/4″ score line.

I stamped the right-hand edge of the Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer and adhered it to the inside of the card base.
I cut the Pecan Pie 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer with the second to the smallest consecutive die and the Crumb Cake layer with the smallest die.

Stamp a branch in Early Espresso ink and stamp the small pinecone in the same color on the branches. Stamp the pine needle plumes in Pretty Peacock ink and the Hello as well.

Adhere the Crumb Cake layer to the Pecan Pie matte layer.

Adhere the dies to the middle of the first bent back panel.

Adhere the dies under the panel sticking out around the focal point dies.

Add the Pecan Pie die to the right of the words and pine bough on top of the dies.

Adhere the two pine cone dies on top of the stamped pine cone images.

I added a Basic White strip to the left of the bent back panel and adhered that panel to the card front.

I added another Pretty Peacock pine cluster below the Hello sentiment to add a little more color there.

I added three Streaked Dots which are a lovely new embellishment round dot that is a neutral brown hue with golden streaks and swirls!
I added two more coordinating strips of Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake left overs from cutting the paper to the background of the card base and I love the difference it made in the backdrop of this card!

What a great masculine card using this lovely outdoor pine set. Try to make a masculine card – with great neutral colors and a nature set!
Now go and create some artwork of your very own one stamp at a time!
