memorable blooms naturally gilded floating element card

memorable blooms naturally gilded floating element card

Today’s card was a card I designed for last month’s library card class and haven’t posted.

This card uses the Memorable Blooms bundle and even though this stamp set has floral and foliage images and would normally lend itself to very feminine cards but this more masculine card uses the leaf sprig from the Memorable Blooms die set in neutral colors.

Measurements:
BASE: Very Vanilla CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for die
DSP: (2) 3/4″ x 3″ from Naturally Gilded
Specialty paper
(2) 3/4″ x 3″ from the Gold Foil Specialty
paper
Window Sheet: 3″ x 3″

Glue the 3/4″ x 3″ Naturally Gilded Specialty Paper to the top of the Window Sheet.
Glue the 3/4″ x 3″ Golf Foil Specialty Paper to the bottom of the Window Sheet.
Glue the last two Specialty Paper strips to the middle of the Window Sheet spacing evenly.

Place the Window Sheet square in the upper middle of the card and stamp the sentiment below the square in the lower 1/3 of the card in Wild Wheat ink.

Pop up the Window Sheet with Stampin’ Dimensionals strategically placed under the Specialty paper strips so that they do not show.
Adhere the square over the sentiment with the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Place the Neutral Adhesive-Backed Sequins around the sentiment.

Adhere the die cut over the left-hand side of the popped up square.

This paper is gorgeously foiled Specialty paper ordered with 6 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper in 3 different foiled colors: white background with copper foil, white background with silver foil and vanilla background with gold foil.

Today I am highlighting how beautifully easy this paper is to color on!

To maximize the paper I cut the 12″ x 12″ paper into 12 sections of 4″ x 3″

Measurements:
Card Base: Pool Party 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at
4 1/4″
DSP 4″ x3″
Bermuda Bay layer: 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
scrap Basic white for the sentiment piece

Using the Stamparatus platform, secure the Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series Paper with the magnets on the opposite top corners.
Start at the bottom of the paper and, ink the Blending Brush in the Bermuda Bay ink, starting off the page burnish ink into the paper using a circular motion – repeat process until the color is the tone you desire. The more you apply ink the darker and more vibrant the color will become.
Using the other blending brush in the Pool Party ink pad brush the head on the ink surface and then starting off the page apply color above the Bermuda Bay color line blending into the Bermuda Bay section, leaving a little white on top.
Wipe the excess ink off the foiled areas with a paper towel.
Adhere the Specialty DSP layer to the Bermuda Bay card base piece.
Adhere the layered piece to the top left hand corner of the card front.
Stamp the sentiment onto the small die cut in Bermuda Bay ink and pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals (after removing the paper from the pop up dots place the ribbon folded in half diagonally on the back of the sentiment piece) and adhere to the card front in the lower right hand corner.
Add Iridescent Basic Pearl embellishments to the card and you are complete.
naturally gilded variation two

naturally gilded variation two

Well I had so much fun playing with the gorgeous Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series paper that I wanted to show you a simple variation on the card I posted Monday.

Measurements:
Base: Very Vanilla 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″ cut 1″ strip off the card
front’s right edge
Naturally Gilded SDSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″ cut an inch
off the right hand side
Brushed Metallic Specialty Paper 1 1/2″ strip
Very Vanilla: Save the 1″ strip cut from the card
for the die cut

Adhere the 3″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Specialty Designer series paper to the card front.
Adhere the 1″ strip of Specialty Designer Series Paper to the right inside edge of the card leaving a 1/8″ border around the right side and the top and bottom edges.
Cut a 5 1/2″ strip from the 1 1/2″ strip of Brushed Metallic Gold paper and then cut in half lengthwise so you end up with two pieces of 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ strips. Adhere the strip under the right edge of the card front, making sure that the border is even.
I die cut just a portion of the smaller long banner from the Stylish Shapes die set and hand trimmer a matte in Brushed Metallic Gold Specialty paper for the backing. Adhere together using Stampin’ Seal.
Die cut a small butterfly from the Brilliant Wings die set and add two mini Dimensionals to the center of the butterfly. Adhere to the top right hand side of the card front.
Pop up the sentiment and adhere to the bottom portion of the card aligning the edge of the sentiment piece to the edge of the Naturally Gilded paper.
Just removing an inch of cardstock from the original card front changes the look and feel of the card. Something so simple, yet very effective. Go and Create some art of your very own today! One stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’
