I set out after designing Wednesday’s blog post card to use both the positive and negative vellum die cut pieces and this is the card I designed for the negative portion of the Everyday Details die set. This is such a cool die set (It actually coordinates with the Everyday Details stamp set in a bundle that saves you 10% – but I actually just bought the die set because it is so versatile!)

I had a second piece of 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock from the card on Wednesday that was scored at 4 1/4″ so I used that and scored it additionally at 5 1/2″ to make the base for the Book Bind Fun Fold.

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″
DSP: 1″ x 4 1/4″
leftover handmade DSP from 1-10-24’s blog
post cut to 4 1/4″ in length I saved the small
piece I cut off and placed it in the inside
corner.
Embossed piece: One of my customers at my
open house last week placed adhesive on the
wrong side of her embossed layer so I gave
her another piece and told her to watch for
the blog post that I would use her “mistake”
and I repurposed it for the background.
Sentiment piece: was repurposed from an extra
I had made from the 1-10-24 post as well!

Score the 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″. Adhere between the two score lines and press to seal creating the book bind fun fold.

Adhere the 1″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Smoky Slate DSP to the book bind panel.

I cut the other half of the handmade Designer Series paper from my last Wednesday’s blog post on 1-10-24 post to 4 1/4″ in length and adhered it to the opposite side of the card front.

I cut an embossed piece of Painted Posies 3D paper to fit inside the DSP and handmade DSP spot.

I repurposed a second sentiment piece from the 1-10-24 blog post and fussy cut a banner edge to the sentiment piece and then matted it with Basic White cardstock and fussy cut a matching banner cut. I then adhered it over the negative Everyday Details die cut and added mini glue dots to the covered back areas and adhered it to the card front.

I added 5 Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed dots to the vellum die piece. If you replicate this idea it is easier to add the embellishments first and then add mini glue dots to all the areas that the embellishments cover instead of doing it after adhering down the vellum!
(Do as I say LOL not as I do!) Much easier to do it in that order than the way I did it!

I love how it turned out sometimes challenging yourself to make something fun out of leftover pieces turns out a lovely card and it definitely stretches that creative bone in your body that you might not have known even existed! making your own designer paper

Sale-a-bration is HERE!!!

This project is made with the gorgeous new Level Two Sale-a-bration set called Detailed Dogwood. It is a collage set with beautiful images and perfect for the application I am using for today’s blog post – making your own designer paper!

There are actually two techniques for this post!
When you have a stamp set like this one – which you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase! – with a lot of smaller images it lends itself well to background paper stamping.

Measurements:
BASE: Pebbled Path 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
Pebbled Path layer 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
scrap for sentiment piece
Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside

Start with the Pebbled Path layer and stamp one of the medium images in the upper and lower diagonal corners.

Continue stamping until the entire surface of this layer is filled and designed to your liking.

I wanted to give it more texture so i embossed it with the hatchmark design from the Basics 3D folders pack.

Cut this in half and now you have background paper for two cards.

Adhere the paper to the base. (I later decided to add a small matte to this in Lemon Lolly to tie in the color of the post bleached flowers.)

I stamped the larger dogwood flowers from this set in Versamark and sprinkled the black embossing powder from the Basics embossing powders pack and heat set with our Heat Tool.

Using an old brush or a dried out Blender Pen, I diped the old Blender pen in Gel Bleach and painted the bleach inside the embossed flower lines. Each dyed paper bleaches a different color – I always love watching the color develop! It reminds me of the old days when we used to develop film and you would be able to see the image appear – the color developing is a similar experience! Who would have guessed that Pebbled Path bleaches out to Lemon Lolly?

After I fussy cut the dogwood flowers out I popped them up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it on the upper right hand section of the card.

I added the Pebbled Path Textured ribbon to the lower part of the card.

I stamped a sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set in Pebbled Path ink on the same color cardstock. I stamped off twice the dotted pattern and stamped over the sentiment and then cut it out using the Nested Essentials dies.
I moved the flowers and the ribbon up to accommodate the banner die and the sentiment.

I added some Gold Brushed Metallic Dots to highlight the flowers bleached areas.

I added a lemon Lolly matte to further accentuate the bleached color of the flowers I thought it was so pretty I wanted to call attention to it even more!
