more color mondays – pool party, flirty flamingo and lemon lolly sneak peak

Oh so many fun new things coming around the corner! We are going to three total catalogs a year no more mini catalogs and lots of fun stuff in this first new catalog!

We are introducing new impressions dies and plate to have embossing make even more of an impact and WOW!

This More Color Mondays submission features a sneak peak at some of the awesome new products we will be featuring with this new catalog!

Susan Campfield, a fellow demonstrator in my side line hit her million dollars in sales this past sales year and got a design a new stamp set for part of her million dollar celebration! The Phrases and Frames came out of those design meetings she wanted a versatile sentiment set and Stampin’ Up! was looking for a set like that to introduce one of their newest products the Impressions Plate! Lucky Her that she gets to introduce this product with her million dollar bundle!

This is an easel card which is an adaptation of the ones that she demonstrated at OnStage a few weeks ago using her million dollar bundle plus the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series paper.

Measurements:
BASE: Pool Party CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″ and 2 1/8″, scrap for oval die
Lemon Lolly CS: (2) 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Take the Lemon Lolly CS layers and die cut 2 of the largest frame from the Phrases and Frames Dies.

Leave the paper die cut in the metal die and turn cut side up.

Make an Impression sandwich with the BASE Plate #1, the Thin Die Adapter #2 then place the die cut side up and lay the new Impressions Plate on top, add the #4 Embossing Plate and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.

This puffs out the embossing making the design up out or stand out and is more defined.
Using the inside scrap from one of the die cuts in Lemon Lolly run the two smallest dies from the Phrases and Frames die set through the cutting setting with #1, #2 and two cutting plates #3s.
Run the larger frame of the two dies through the Impressions setting with #1, #2 then the die and paper cut side up, the Impressions Plate and then #4.
Cut the DSP to 3 3/8 X 4 3/4″.
Save the cut pieces.

Adhere the 3 3/8″ piece to a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock of 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.
This will show when the card is in easel mode for a finished backside.

Place Stampin’ Seal + around the backside of the perimeter of the large frame.
Place the DSP and Flirty Flamingo l;ayer, DSP side up on the taped side of the frame.
Place Stampin’ Seal + and the backside of the second frame and place over the DSP layer matching up the outside edges of the frames so they match. This essentially seals the DSP inside two frames back to back that the frames are pretty sides outward.
Cut another second smallest frame out of Pool Party and just use the inside oval for the sentiment.

Stamp the Happy Anniversary wording from the Phrases and Frames sentiment set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Adhere to the left side of the DSP inside the larger frame. Pop up the Lemon Lolly frame around the wording.

Open the card base to the inside and stamp the complimentary inside sentiment for the Anniversary in Tuxedo Black Memento ink in the center of the inside of the card base.
Take the DSP piece that is 5 1/4″ in length and adhere to the bottom of the inside of the card base below the inside sentiment.
Stamp the sending you hugs in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the smallest oval from the Phrases and Frames die set.
Pop up the small oval on Stampin’ Dimensionals and place in the center of the DSP. This will be the stopper for the easel mechanism.
Adhere the lower half of the frame layer to the outmost panel of the card front.
Pop out a butterfly from the upcoming Floral Flight Accents – these are thick precut dies perfect for easy card making or accents in scrapbooking!

Adhere the frame layer to the right and below the sentiment frame.

Apply three Flirty Falmingo embellishments from the Array of Dots from the Beautiful Ordinary Life Suite of products to the card front.
If you bend the card at the score line this will create an easel effect and the card front will slide to the little oval stopper and rest as an easel for display!
This is what the card looks like from the side in the easel form! So much fun – I love easel cards they are impressive and easy and these new impressions dies have such great detail!

Try an easel card today and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – azure afternoon, pool party and lemon lolly

more color mondays – azure afternoon, pool party and lemon lolly

Well can you believe it is already July! This year is speeding by and I got up early this morning to finish this post – normally I am days ahead at designing and posting but summer life got in the way this week! It was a fun week but busy we had a fourth of July party on the fifth and fireworks on the sixth and some of our children’s friends in for the holiday week so stamping took a back seat – I love these weeks but hate not getting to spend time stamping!
Today’s More Color Monday is an unexpected favorite! I love the way this simple card turned out! It features two very simple techniques that can elevate your cards in a very fun and super easy way.
The first is using DSP to color an image – in this case I die cut the surf/paddle boards directly out of Designer Series Paper – that was it and what a difference it makes!
The second technique is paper tearing – this is a simple technique that can by used in SO MANY ways. I always tell my customers that to control the tear you need to hold the paper with both hands using your thumb and forefinger. Keep your thumbs at the tear and move them along as the tear progresses. Tear the paper towards you to create that lovely torn edge on the correct side of the paper! It’s that easy!
I layered the torn Crumb Cake card stock to look like hills of sand!

Measurements:
BASE: Lemon Lolly: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White: 3″ x 4″
3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
Crumb Cake 2 3/4″ x 3″
DSP scraps for die cutting

Using the 3″ x 4″ layer of Basic White, color the top edge with Lemon Lolly ink and a blending brush.
Color below the Lemon Lolly with Pool Party ink and a blending brush and blend into the Lemon Lolly layer. Color about half way down this Basic White layer.
Take the Crumb Cake piece and tear into four sections using the paper tearing technique detailed above making sure that you tear across the longer 3″ side so it fits the whole way across the blended layer.
Flip the top piece over so that the pretty torn edge is facing upwards and using glue or tape adhere only the edges together this way the middle of the paper will be open like a pocket to tuck your paddleboards into.
Adhere all four layers together.
Adhere the Crumb Cake torn layers to the Ink Blended Basic White layer.
I tucked the first two paddleboards into the “sand” layers and then popped up the bottom one onto Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to give the boards some depth and dimension!
Adhere this decorated layer onto the 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Basic White layer as a matte.
Tue some Baker’s Twine in Crumb Cake color from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack around that layer and adhere to the base card on an angle for some visual interest!
I cut a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock from one of the smaller Deckled Circles dies and stamped in Azure Afternoon ink the sentiment from the Beach Day stamp set.
I blended the edges in Lemon Lolly with a small blending brush.
I popped up the sentiment piece over the paddleboard layer and this cute card is ready to send on it’s way to brighten someone’s day!

Try these fun and easy techniques and if you played along with this color challenge upload a picture of your creation to share with all of us in the comment section of today’s Facebook post for More Color Mondays!

Now it’s your turn to go and create something easy and fun – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – lemon lolly, bubble bath and pool party

more color mondays – lemon lolly, bubble bath and pool party

Today’s More Color Mondays is a soft and subtle Springtime palette of Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath and Pool Party. It seems like there is a rash of babies being born in our family and friends circle so I am super glad that I invested in this stamp bundle! The Little Dreamers bundle is so sweet and this card will go to very good use!

Measurements:
BASE: Pool Party 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″ and partial die cut
DSP: 3″ x 4″
Basic White scrap for die cut and sentiment piece

I took the largest rectangular Deckle Rectangle die and place the edge of the cardstock through and under the long end and ran just that edge through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to partial die cut just the edge of the card and I took about an 1 14″ off.
I die cut a scrap of cardstock from the Basic Borders die set and using a Blending Brush I inked it into the Pool Party ink pad and created a cloud background for the upper card front.
Adhere the 3″ x 4″ piec of Delightfully Eclectic DSP to the inside bottom of the card so that it is peeking out of the closed card!
I stamped in Bubble Bath ink a scrap of Basic White cardstock with the sentiment from Little dreamers stamp set and colored the edges with a Small Blending Brush and Bubble Bath ink.
I adhered it near the top of the DSP so that it is a surprise when you open the card!
I die cut a Everyday Details circle die from some scrap paper and then used the deckled dies to make the edges deckled. I adhered it to the center of the top flap of the card front.
I stamped the Lion with the Star balloon from the Little dreamers stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends markers.
I die cut the lion and the stars out and popped them up on Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I adhered the lion to the center of the circle die cut.
I adhered the star die cuts around the lion.
I used the Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots in coordinating Pool Party to finish the card! Too Cute!
Now it is your turn go out and make a card for someone special – one stamp at a time!

DSP (2) 1″ x 5 1/4″
(2) 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″

Adhere the 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece to the middle inside panel just to the right of the first 1″ piece, as shown in the photo below.
Adhere the second 2 3/4″ piece of DSP to the outside larger panel, just to the left of the center score line.
Adhere the inside white layer to the left of the 1″ inside piece of DSP.

Stamp flowers from the Translucent Florals stamp set and die cut with the coordinating dies. Adhere a small floral die to the lower right hand corner of the Basic White cardstock piece.
