seaside wishes z with a side fold fun fold

This is a fun fold I designed it is a z fold with a side flap. I added an extra piece on the z fold and extended over the side flap with lots of fun Seaside Wishes die cuts!

Measurements:
BASE: Crumb Cake 5 1/2″ x 10 3/8″
scored at 2″, 4″ and 8 1/4″
scraps for die cutting and stamping
1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strip
Basic Beige CS: 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside middle layer
scraps for stamping, embossing and die cutting
Flirty Flamingo CS: 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strip and scraps
for die cutting

Stamp the inside sentiment and starfish images on the Basic Beige 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer and adhere to the inside middle panel.
Score the base cardstock at 2″, 4″ and 8 1/4″.
Fold the 2″ score line in a mountain fold, score the 4″ and 8 1/4″ score lines into a valley fold.
Emboss the 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Basic Beige layer in the Seaside Wishes hybrid embossing layer and placing tape on the outside of the first panel adhere so the Basic Beige panel is about 1/4″ from the edge and hanging over the right hand side of the first panel.
Emboss and die cut a few of the sand dollars from the Hybrid embossing folder in the Basic Beige CS and adhere to the outside middle of the right hand panel.
Die cut a few small starfish stamped in Pecan Pie ink on Crumb Cake CS and plain and use two on this panel as well.
Die cut a bunch of the Seaside Wishes images and dies in all three cardstock colors and arrange them on the left-hand outside panel extending over towards but not exceeding the right-hand edge of the card.
Stamp the outside sentiment in Pecan Pie ink on the Flirty Flamingo strip and adhere it over the Crumb Cake strip. Pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and place in the middle of the left-hand panel.

Color Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends and adhere to the card as a final coordinating detail!

Unfolded this card will stand on it’s own and with all of the die cut decor it will display beautifully!

We used to carry Shimmery White cardstock and I LOVED IT!! It had this gorgeous sheen to it and a subtle sparkle. Well it retired and if you loved it too there is a way to make your own and the good news is … it’s even more versatile!

If you are not familiar with our Pearlized Enamel Effects there come in two versions and packs of three bottles of lacquer each:

#156310 Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics
$15.00
* 3 bottles: 1 each of 3 colors
* 1 oz. (29.5 g) each
Product colors: Black, Real Red, White Pearl

#161610 Metallic Enamel Effects Basics
$15.00
* 3 bottles: 1 each of 3 colors
* 1 oz. (29.5 g) each
Product colors: Copper, Gold, Silver

You can use this lacquer in so many ways. The small, thin tip makes it easy to outline stamped images or add detail. Draw attention to part of a stamped image. Write and draw shapes such as stars and hearts. Create dots to use on your creations. You will need to allow time for drying.

Did you know you can brush these directly onto cardstock and create a shimmer paper in these six basic colors and add drops of re-inker to them and create many more colors with shimmer!

Measurement Card #1
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
scrap for die cut
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ for painting and die cutting
DSP: 2″ x 4 1/4″ and 2″ x 3 1/2″

Card #2
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ for painting and die cutting
Fresh Freesia CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ for painting and
embossing
Pebbled Path CS: scrap for sentiment piece

I experimented with different colors and different enamel effects to increase the combinations I could achieve!

My first sample I embossed colored cardstock – Fresh Freesia – with a new Beautiful Butterflies embossing folder.

I squeezed a few drops of White Enamel Effects onto a Silicone Mat and using a wet Water Painter I painted that embossed surface with the watered down enamel effects to give it a shimmer! Allow to dry fully before using on a card!
Next I did the same thing on Basic White Paper painted with White Enamel Effects.
For experiment number 3 I used Basic White CS and painted it first with the White Enamel Effects and then painted just the butterfly images with Gold and Copper Enamel Effects.
I die cut the large and small butterfly from the painted metallic butterflies piece.
For the first card I took scraps of the Nature’s Sweetness 12″ x 12″ DSP and took two different patters and a die cut from another sneak peak product the Linked Together Dies. I first arranged them together in a pleasing pattern on a 4 1/4″ x 11″ base cardstock folded in half.
Once I liked the pattern I removed the DSP and die and started to adhere the pieces onto the base.
I adhered the 2″ x 4 1/4″ piece across the bottom of the base card leaving a small border along the bottom of the card base.
Next I adhered the gold foiled cross-hatched patterned DSP in the opposite direction.
I glued the die cut piece from the Linked Together dies set overlapping the two pieces of DSP.
I grabbed a scrap of Copper Clay to draw out the copper shimmer on the butterflies and stamped Time To celebrate in the same Copper Clay ink.
I adhered the sentiment piece overlapping all three previous pieces.
I popped up the large butterflie die from the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and adhered it over the sentiment piece.
I die cut the body of the smaller butterfly out of the white shimmer paper and adhered it onto the top of the detailed die cut butterfly. I then adhered this smaller butterfly below and overlapping the left corner of the sentiment piece.
I adhered 5 brass colored embellishments f( I realized after I adhered them that these embellishments are retired but you could easily substitute the Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems which come in Copper, Gold and A dark silver/platinum color and are faceted for a beautiful shimmer and shine!
For Card #2 I used the Fresh Freesia cardstock that I painted as the background.

I mixed Berry Burst re-inker into the White Enamel Effects to create a Berry Burst butterfly.
I painted on the Berry Burst enamel onto a sheet of embossed paper.

I adhered the Fresh Freesia background 4″ x 5 1/4″ to the Basic White card base.

I die cut the large butterfly out and die cut the large butterfly body out of the Fresh Freesia enameled scraps. i adhered the butterfly body onto the middle of the large butterfly and popped it up on Dimensionals on the card. I stamped the sentiment in Pebbled Path ink on a scrap of Pebbled Path cardstock and adhere it over the butterfly die.
I added three of the Adhesive-backed Drusy embellishments for extra special sparkle and shine!

The possibilities are endless colored paper and white or silver, black paper and all of the enamel colors, white paper and all the colors of enamel or color the enamel with re-inkers WOW what will you come up with?

Now go out and create some fun shimmer designs of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – pecan pie, cherry cobbler and basic beige

more color mondays – pecan pie, cherry cobbler and basic beige

Today is not just another More Color Monday, I also get to introduce a new Core Basic Color from Stampin’ Up! We rarely add a Basic Core Color, I am not sure we ever have actually! We have Basic White, Basic Black and Basic Vanilla and we have added with this new annual catalog Basic Beige! It is a beautiful light beige color that goes well with just about everything!

Today I am pairing it with Pecan Pie and Cherry Cobbler and using the New Seaside Wishes hybrid bundle.

Measurements:
BASE: Cherry Cobbler 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White: scraps for dies
Basic Beige: scraps for dies
Pecan Pie: scraps for dies

Insert a sheet of Basic White cardstock into the hybrid embossing folder fitted with the die and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.
This will cut three different sized sand dollars.
Randomly stamp the small starfish image onto the Cherry Cobbler cardstock with Cherry Cobbler ink for a subtle tone on tone pattern.
I always tell me stampers when you start stamping on a blank page – stamp in triangles – look for patterns of three it is easier to stamp in a pattern and the law of threes makes a pleasing symmetrical and balanced finished product!
Tie a knotted ribbon to the upper edge of the base card with the Basic Beige Bordered ribbon. cut out various dies in Basic Beige and Pecan Pie and arrange them in a desired pattern on the card front. Stamp the sentiment onto one of the banner dies from the Stylish Shapes dies and pop that up over the die created design on the card front.
Add Embellishments to the card front and this delightful seaside wishes card is complete.

I love this set and I hope you enjoyed this latest installment of More Color Mondays. Consider playing along with us and stamping at least once a week – it’s great for your soul and metal health!

seaside wishes sand dollar card

seaside wishes sand dollar card

If you have been following me for a while, iyou know I love the water. I live on a lake and love all things that have to do with the water. So it will come as no surprise that I needed the Seaside Wishes stamp set for my collection as soon as I saw it in the New annual Catalog!
It is a hybrid embossing folder bundle so it was a bonus for me!
This is a simple regular A2 card but it becomes special when you add the hybrid embossing folder to the mix!

I started with the new Basic Beige cardstock for the base. This is our newest core color added to the Basics Collection joining White, Black and Vanilla.

Measurements
BASE: Basic Beige 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Crumb Cake 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Pecan Pie 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
Basic White scrap for the sentiment

I die cut the sand dollar images in Crumb cake and then cut the negative piece at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ for the card front.

I adhered the Crumb Cake cardstock to the card front of a Basic Beige card base.
I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White and adhered the sand dollars onto Stampin’ Dimensionals back into their original negative die cut spaces. I adhered the sentiment with tape on the left side and a Dimensional on the right so it would be the same level as the sand dollars.
I added the Basic Beige ribbon to the top of the card and placed it under the top sand dollar die image.
I added Neutrals adhesive-backed Sequins to the card and Wink of Stella on the star images in the center of the sand dollars!
I added an embossed strip of Pecan Pie for a little color and contrast and the card was finished!

Hope you like this set as much as I do – have fun looking though the new catalog and if you need any assistance please do not hesitate to contact me!

Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
