easter card using the timeless arrangement stamp set

One of the perks of being a demonstrator is the Demonstrator Planning Place it is a demonstrator only sharing forum – and this community is among the most giving and sharing population on Earth! I recently saw a home decor frame with a similar technique on this Facebook page and had to try it out for a card.

Measurements:
Basic White CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″

YEP THAT’S IT! This is what you call Simple Stamping! Stamps, Ink, and Paper this is an awesome beginner card that has a WOW feel to it!

Take two pieces of scotch tape and place them perpendicular over one another the top piece about 1/4 of the way down over the bottom piece cut the cross piece to the length desired to make it look like a cross. Place on the card front of the folded Basic White base card.
Pick colors and the floral pieces from the Timeless Arrangements stamp set (#161521) this is retiring and is a great thank you/appreciation/friendship stamp set. If you want it order it as soon as possible using the current hostess code EGCF9KYB as they are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST and I have a feeling this one will sell out! The Timeless Arrangement bundle (#161526) and the dies (#161525) are also on the Last Chance list – the bundle is both the set and the dies for 10% discount.

Start stamping the individual stamps scattering them out over the cross tape piece as if they are peeking out from under the cross!

Continue to use different colors and different stamps until the whole section around the cross is covered. (Be careful not to touch the tape as the ink does not stick and dry so you will get ink on your fingers!)
Carefully remove the tape and wash your hands to remove the ink so as not to transfer onto your card! You are left with an optical illusion where the flower and leaf sprigs appear to be underneath the white cross – this gives the card depth and dimension without layers!!
Stamp a sentiment in the cross piece.
Add embellishments to finish the card with a little bling and you have the perfect Easter card without an Easter stamp set!

Now go and create some artwork of your own – one stamp at a time!

Note I only used the Timeless Arrangements stamp set for this Simple Stamping card but added the bundle and dies in the photos below for your easy ordering reference if you want it all!!

Happy Stampin’ and have a Blessed Easter weekend!

happy valentine’s day

happy valentine’s day

Happy Valentine’s Day! Today’s blog post is all about a great combination technique – a baby-wipe watercolor paper technique.

Grab a wet baby wipe and add a few drops of re-inker. Rub in a circular motion applying ink to a portion of the watercolor paper. Repeat this with a new baby wipe and a new color, overlapping the previous color. I chose three colors for a berry milkshake effect – Flirty Flamingo, Berry Burst and Gorgeous Grape re-inkers.

Measurements:
BASE: Mambo Melon CS 5 1/2″ x 7 3/4″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 3 1/8″ x 5 1/2″ and
scraps for dies
Watercolor paper: 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

After the watercolor paper is completely dry, i die cut the ice cream scoops for the milkshake from the Share a Milkshake bundle.
I stamped the milkshake glass two step stamp in Mambo Melon and stamped off for the base portion.
I stamped the decorative glass portion of the base stamp in full strength Mambo melon ink and also stamped a straw and cherry as well.
Die cut all of the desired pieces for the card front.
Score the card base at 4 1/4″ and fold over so that the short side is at the front.

Stamp the Be My Valentine sentiment on the lower left hand corner in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Cut a 1″ x 5 1/2″ strip from the watercolor paper so you get all three colors and emboss it with the Basics 3D embossing folder.
Adhere to the right hand edge of the inside base of the card so that it peeks out when the card is closed.
Cut a 3 1/8″ x 5 1/2″ Basic White cardstock layer for the inside of the card to the left of the 1″ strip.
Stamp the “You’re the cherry on top” sentiment in mambo melon ink on the upper center of the layer and adhere to the inside of the card.
Start adhering the dies to the front of the card – make sure you place the glass image low enough to accommodate the amount of ice cream scoops you die cut!
I adhered the ice cream scoops in a gradient effect and placed the straw on the bottom scoop and the cheery on the top!
I added Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems to finish off the card!
Now to write a sweet note to the love of my life – SHHHHHHH don’t tell him I snuck it into his backpack last night so he’ll find it today at work!

Hope you were able to create cards for those you love – it’s what this paper craft is all about!
If you didn’t yet and you have someone special that needs to hear it – go and create some artwork of your very own and let them know – one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’ and Happy Valentine’s Day!

In the Perennial Lavender Suite are these stunning Shimmer Gems called Purple Fine Shimmer Gems and up close they are amazing! The catalog does not do them justice!
These gems come in the three colors for today’s challenge so I used each color on the card!

out of the box stamping

out of the box stamping

Using a stamp in an unexpected way is so much fun. Many times the abstract stamps in a stamp set can be used in multiple ways! Today I am using the “hill” stamp as a swath of color being “painted” from the paint brush from the Trusty Tools stamp set.

Measurements:
Bases: Azure Afternoon 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Lemon Lime Twist 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Crushed Curry 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Layer: Basic Black 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″
Azure Afternoon 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
Berry Burst 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White (3) 4″ x 5 1/4″
3 3/4″ x 5″

On a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer stamp multiple paint brushes in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Using the hill image from the Hills of Tuscany stamp set I stamped in colors of Rainbow order:
Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Blueberry Bushel and Gorgeous Grape ink. Cleaning the stamp in between colors.
Using tghe light version of the corresponding Stampin’ Blends and Highland Heather for the Gorgeous Grape color, I colored the tips of the paint brush to make the brush look as if it was just dipped into that color paint.
Using eh Pecan Pie Light and Dark stampin’ Blends markers I first colored the brush handle with the Light marker, highlighted with the Dark marker and filled in with the Light marker again to blends the shading.
I stamp ed the words Hip Hip Hooray from the Good Feelings stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and mounted on a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ layer of Basic Black card stock.
I added some Tinsel Gems three pack around the sentiment.
I mounted this layer onto a Basic White cardfront.

Here are some other samples using slightly different colors and backgrounds.

Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry make a background with a sunset vibe!

This next sample uses Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Gorgeous Grape and Berry Burst. and is accented with the Adhesive Backed Glitter Sequins.
This last sample uses the same colors as the previous sample with a different sentiment and different colors and sizes of cardstock. Isn’t it amazing how the look of the card changes with just those simple changes!

Try to look through your stamps and see what stamps you have that can be used for some out of the box stamping! Go and create some unique projects of your very own – one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’
Natalie

Just a reminder 2 of the 3 stamp sets used on these projects are sneak peaks and will not be available until the mini and Sale-a-bration catalogs go live on January 4th! Therefore they will not be shown on the picture links below!
