more than just cards – party banners and party alphabets

more than just cards – party banners and party alphabets

Stamps and Dies are such a great investment they are for SO MUCH more than just cards.
I use my products for scrapbooking and when the children were younger I was VERY popular around science fair time LOL!

Today’s post is all about the Party Banners and Party Alphabet. As many of you know my mother passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago and tomorrow is her funeral Mass and luncheon. She was forever gardening and cooking and taking care of everyone. I made some picture boards for the luncheon and a used some retired Designer Series Paper called Forever Greenery – it is perfect for my plant loving mom.

I created four boards of baby, teen, college and marriage and grandchildren and entitled them Celebrating a Life Well Lived.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers!

The first few photos are of the individual banners and letters…

This is the first board entitled “Celebrating” and has her pictures as a youngster.
Here is the second board – a little older and it’s entitled “A Life”

The third board is of college and young married life and is entitled “Well”
The last board would have been her favorite her family, children and grandchildren – entitled “Lived!”

Thanks for stopping by come back for More Color Mondays in a few days!

Happy Stampin’ (stampin’ through the happy and the sad!)

good morning magnolia tucked flap card

good morning magnolia tucked flap card

This is a fun fold card that we will be doing in Card Class Thursday, April 29th and April 30th. This Tucked Flap Fun Fold card is stamped with the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and coordinating Magnolia Memory dies that will be retiring in less than a week this is a great stamp and die set. If you want to own it you can use the current hostess code 37A4MHH and order it before the end of the catalog period May 3rd. The new catalog starts May 4th and I will be hosting a New catalog Open House that day – contact me for all the details!

Measurements for this card:

* Pear Pizzazz Cardstock (#131201) 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 1 1/2″
* Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper (#152492 – Retiring) cut to 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ strip
* Good Morning Magnolia stamp set (#149298 – Retiring)
* Magnolia Memory Dies (#149578 – Retiring)
* Stitched So Sweetly dies (#151690)
* Stampin’ Blends – Old Olive Combo Pack (#154892) and Petal Pink (#154893)
* Pear Pizzazz ink (#147104)
* Braided Linen Trim (shown in Mossy Meadow which is retired but still available in Natural tone until May 3rd – Retiring also (#147808) THIS IS A GREAT trim!!!
* Stampin’ Sponges (#141337 – Retiring)
* Bone Folder (#102300) A MUST HAVE FOR FUN FOLD CARDS!!

With you bone folder crease the 1 1/2″ score line well!
I do not score the opposite side from the score line at 1 1/2″. I think it is most accurate to bend the cardstock into the edge of the 1 1/2″ piece, match up the two cardstock ends and then score manually with your bone folder.
Adhere your 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4 ” DSP to the 1 1/2″ outer side of the cardstock.
Using a scrap of Basic White Cardstock die cut from the Stitched So Sweetly die set and stamp the Thanks sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set in Pear Pizzazz Ink. Using a Stampin’ Sponge (these are retiring!!) sponge the edge for extra depth and dimension.
Open up the card and on the outer larger flap stamp with Pear Pizzazz ink for a tone on tone look the large Magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.
Fold the card together and only applying Stampin’ Seal to the left side of the Stitched So Sweetly Die sentiment piece adhere to the left side flap
Stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink the smaller Magnolia image from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set (Retiring) and using Petal Pink and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends color in the image and die cut with the Magnolia Memory Dies.
Add Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the smaller flower image and adhere the lower left hand side of the sentiment piece.
The card will not stay closed on it’s own at this point, so using the Braided Linen Trim (#147808 – Retiring) Tie a piece tightly around the 1 1/2″ side of the cardfont and gently “tuck” the sentiment piece under the trim!
Such a fun simple fun fold “Tucked” flap card – hope you will try this and be inspired to create art one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’
