* 2 pieces of blue painters tape wider than the basic white cardstock and as thick as you choose!

* Tuxedo Black Memento Ink (#132708)
* Seaside Spray Ink (#150085 – Retiring)
* Smoky Slate Ink (#147113)

Lie the blue tape over the ink pad – sticky side down and rub lightly over the tape’s surface, move the tape over so that the ink coverage is wider than the width of the cardstock. Transfer the tape over to the Basic White cardstock and adhere the tape – sticky and inked side down onto the surface of the white cardstock.
Remove the tape from the cardstock. Notice that the tape leaves a unique impression on the cardstock giving the inked strip lots of depth and dimension! Continue the same technique alternating your colors in the same manner until the desired amount of the cardstock is inked. Here I chose to cover the entire surface in alternating stripes!
I stamped the cardstock with the soon to be retiring Rooted in Nature Stamp set. Both the sentiment and tree image were stamped over the strip background in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to make the image boldly stand out!
I added Twine and embellishments to finish out the card and mounted the Basic White Cardstock piece onto the Seaside Spray base card! A fun and easy way to do a background!
