thoughtful journey card in card fun fold

thoughtful journey card in card fun fold

These are awesome colors and a great card on card fun fold with plenty of space for an extended message!
TODAY is my mother’s 85th birthday and she has always loved a neutral color palette and although the Pretty Peacock will be a little loud for her tastes LOL the Wild Wheat is right up her alley! At first this card looks like a thank you card as you will see but on her birthday I have much to be thankful for so it has the space to say it all!
Follow along as I detail how to make this gorgeous card on card fun fold perfect for this special birthday!

Measurements:
BASE: Pretty Peacock CS: 5 1/2″ x 10″
scored at 4 1/4, and 8 1/2″
Smaller Card: 3 1/2″ x 7″
scored at 3 1/2″
DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″ large panel on outside of BASE
1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ small front panel
2 3/4″ square
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for Stylish Shapes 2 3/8″ square die cut
3 1/8″ square for inside of smaller card
Wild Wheat CS: 3 1/8″ square

Cut all pieces and using Wild Wheat ink, stamp the large open foliage stamp from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set on the Basic White CS die cut and the 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer.

Score the BASE at 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″ and fold both score lines inward toward the middle of the card.

Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer onto the inside middle panel of the large card base.

Adhere the Wild Wheat DSP 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece to the outside of the smaller right hand side panel.
Score the smaller card at 3 1/2″ and with the fold on the right-hand side adhere the 3 1/8″ square of Basic White CS inside.
Adhere the Wild Wheat layer and the DSP square to the front of the smaller card
Stamp the die cut with the open foliage stamp and the thanks sentiment from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set in Wild Wheat ink.
Adhere to the card front.
Place two strips of Tear & Tape on the back of the smaller card just to the right of the score line and line up the edge of the score line with the center edge of the smaller panel over the DSP strip and adhere to the edge.
Adhere the larger DSP layer to the front panel of the larger card BASE.
I stamped additional messages to personize this extra special birthday card to the inside of the smaller card…
…and the inside of the larger card!
Fold the bottom of the smaller card in first, then the larger panel of the base card and then the top of the smaller card at the top!
This is what it looks like closed.
I added three of the gold Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins to the card to finish off this extra special card for an extra special human!

Do you need a special card with lots of room to say a bunch of things? This is the perfect card – now go and create this fun fold for someone special in your life! Go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

Happy Special Birthday Mom!
