two step stencil technique

two step stencil technique

I have used Masks in several posts previously but this technique uses a two step method.

BASE: Berry Burst CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a scrap for the
sentiment piece
Lemon Lime Twist scrap 1″ x 4 3/16″
Basic Black CS: 4″ square

Die cut the large flower die from the Artistic Dies in black CS.
Place the black CS negative piece on the Basic White CS piece.
Using a Blending Brush and Lemon Lime Twist, ink the edges where the negative space is for the leaves.
Ink the negative space in the center where the flowers would be with Highland Heather and Berry Burst ink and Blending Brushes.
Remove the Black CS negative die and place the mask from the Four Square Decorative Masks set and add another layer of ink with the same colors. Go over the Lemon Lime Twist over the mask where the areas underneath are Lemon Lime Twist.
Ink a blending brush with Highland Heather and Berry Burst over the areas where the same colors are.
Remove the mask.
Cut the Basic White CS and adhere to the card base.
Adhere the black die cut over the two step technique area.
Emboss the Lemon Lime strip and adhere to the right side of the card.
Stamp the sentiment from Wonderful Thoughts in Berry Burst. Die cut the sentiment with the large banner from the Stylish Shapes.
Cut the banner in half and pop up the sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add 2023-2025 In Color Dots to the card front.
Love the way this two step stencil technique turned out! Hope you try this technique soon – and create your own art one stamp at a time!

stampin’ blends and alcohol on window sheets

stampin’ blends and alcohol on window sheets

Another fun way to use our Stampin’ Blends markers! This technique uses Window Sheets and 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.

Measurements and supplies:

Base Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Basic White Cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″ (2) (#159276)
Window Sheet 4″ x 5 1/4″ (#142314)
Basic White Cardstock scraps (#159276)
Basic Black Cardstock scraps (#121045)
Stampin’ Blends
Poppy Parade (#154958)
Mambo Melon (#153112)
Misty Moonlight (#153108)
Shaded Spruce (#154903)
Granny Apple Green (#154885)
So Saffron (#154905)
Balmy Blue (#154830)
Mint Macaron (#514889)

Scribble your selected colors on the Window Sheet.

Take the 99% alcohol in a dropper bottle.
Using a Bulb syringe and blow the alcohol and ink around until dry and the pattern desired.
The ink design on the Window Sheet shows best when backed on our Basic White cardstock. Because the Window Sheets are clear you can see the adhesive. In order to hide this I take the two largest dies from the Stitched Rectangles set and nest them evenly together and cut a thin stitched frame. I adhere the frame to the opposite side of the ink color on the Window sheet. I attach that to a Basic white 4″x 5 1/4″ cardstock piece and cut off the excess around the edges. I mounted onto a base colored piece of cardstock and decorated the cardfront. Here are two finished examples!
The window Sheet I did with the Blues and Greens reminded me of a sky or a galaxy background so i stamped the Angel from the Angels of Peace stamp set (#156365), colored her with Light Balmy Blue (#154830) and Light Mint Macaron (#154889) Stampin’ Blends Markers. Her hair in Light So Saffron (#154905), her skin tone in Light Petal Pink (154893) and the bird in Light Misty Moonlight (#153108).
Apply Wink of Stella to the bodice of the dress and her wings. Pop her up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and add some Basic Rhinestone Jewels and the sentiment.
Using Poppy Parade and Mambo Melon, I created the background and the backed the card on Basic White cardstock and a white Stitched Rectangle die (#151820) cut frame over the top of the acetate to cover the adhesive. I used the Tombo MultiPurpose glue (#110755) to adhere the flower die cut from the Artistic Dies and the sentiment from the Art gallery stamp set. I finished off the card by backing the sentiment onto Basic Black cardstock, popping it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) and adding some sparkle with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#144220).

This is such a fun and easy technique and the results are gorgeous and unique every time you try it! So order some Stampin’ Blends if you don’t have any, a package of window sheets and get some 99% Isopropyl alcohol and have a go at this technique! Have fun and be creative at least once a day! It’s good for the soul. Now co and create some art of your own…one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’

pop out window fun fold card

pop out window fun fold card

Another Fun Fold card – this uses the Layering Circles Dies (#151770) to create a pop out window fun fold card!

Measurements:
Basic White Cardstock (#159276)
*5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
*5 1/4″ x 8″ scored at 2″, 4″ and 6″
Designer Series Paper in the sample I used Fine Art Floral (#154558 – which will be retiring at the end of June) choose complimentary patterns
*5 1/4″ x 4 (for the card front)
*1 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ for the inside center pop up panels
* piece of scrap colored cardstock or DSP for the sentiment

Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Designer Series paper to the card base using tape only on the outer edges of the DSP. Die cut a circle or shape with tapered edges (a square or rectangle will not work because the edges will catch on the window). Separate the die cut shapes save the DSP die cut for another use and keep the Basic White card stock circle for a future step.
Take the 8″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock piece oand on the 8″ side score at 2″, 4″ and 6″.

Then fold as shown in the second picture below.

Adhere the 2 smaller pieces of DSP to the center two sections of the Basic White 8 x 5 1/4 piece of cardstock.
Adhere with Stampin’ Seal + for a strong seal – the right section to the right outer edge of the card base leaving an equal border the entire way around the insert.
Fold the cardstock so the DSP pieces are back to back and the left hand DSP section is on the right side with the left hand section of Basic white cardstock up against the fold of the card as shown in the picture below!

Using the Stampin’ Seal + make three lines in a C shape on the outer edges of the card as shown above and close the card front over the taped section and rub to adhere. This is what the card will look like at this point…

Place Stampin’ Seal + on the right side of the circle only and lay the Basic White cardstock circle die inside the die cut circle and rub the right side to strengthen the tape seal.
Here are two other samples with some retired products but I wanted to show you how changing the die shape or the paper changes the look completely!
Embellish the card front and the circle that will “pop out” of the card and you have a Pop Out Window Fun Fold Card!

Hope this Inspired you – now go out and create art – one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’,

* 4″ x 10-1/4″ colored cardstock (scored at 2-1/2″ and 5″) I used Poppy Parade (#119793)
* 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Designer Series Paper I used the Fine Art Floral DSP (#154558)
* 2-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ contrasting piece of DSP (#154558)
* basic white cardstock die cut approximately 2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ (#159276)
* Sentiment to fit about 1/2 to 2/3 of label
* Focal point(s) to attach to the sentiment

Cut, score and burnish the score line with the bone folder (#102300). Cut the colored cardstock and score at 2 1/2″ and 5″ and burnish the score lines so that the card will lie flat. Attach the colored cardstock to the front of the Thick Basic White Cardstock. (#140272)
Adhere a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Designer Series Paper to the long piece of colored cardstock that is attached to the front of the Basic white card base, I used the Fine Art Floral DSP (#154558) for this card from the Fine Art Floral Collection. If you just LOVE this suite of products this one number will get you the whole collection (#155982)!
Adhere a 2 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of coordinating Designer Series Paper to the 2 1/2″ x 4″ front flap of the colored cardstock piece.

I die cut a piece of Basic White cardstock (#159276) from the Stitched So Sweetly dies (#151690) and stamped in Poppy Parade ink (#147050) with the smaller flower from the Art Gallery (#154421) stamp set. I stamped the larger two step stampin’ flower from that set and die cut the flower and the words “just want to say” from the Floral Gallery Dies (#154316)

.

I stamped thank you from the Peaceful Moments (#151595) stamp set in Tuxedo Black Momento (#132708) ink and adhered the bottom half to the front easel. I popped up the large flower on Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) and placed it in the bottom half of the sentiment and added retired Wonderful Gems (Forgot they were retired! – OOPS!)

Happy Stampin’!
