all together easel card

all together easel card

Easel cards are always fun and oh so easy. was watching my sister line demonstrator Rachel T. and loved the easel card she made so this is a CASE from her – thanks always for the great inspiration!

The All Together suite is available now until May 2nd. The All Together 6″ x 6″ DSP is incredible black and white paper 48 sheets of patterned paper 4 each of 12 double sided designs of acid and lignin free paper! Shown in the image below!

Measurements for the cards:

4 1/4″ x 11″ Thick Basic White cardstock
scored at 5 1/2″ and 2 3/4″
Basic Black cardstock – large enough for the
dies you choose and another piece if you
want to create the second card using the
negative and the overall border for that piece
Basic White Cardstock – for the border around
the negative piece
Adhesive sheet – in the same size as the Basic
Black scrap
DSP – 2 pieces of 4 1/4″ x 3/4″
Real Red cardstock scrap for the heart die

Measure your piece of black cardstock needed for the die cut chosen. Cut the adhesive sheet to the same size.

Add the adhesive sheet to the back side of the Basic Black scrap.
Run through the Mini Stampin’ Cut and emboss.
If you would like to make the second card carefully peel the words from the negative space and attach the negative die cut to a Basic White piece of paper cut larger than the die cut piece. (this part is tedious but I so LOVE the outcome!) Using your Take your Pick Tool (I grabbed my retired “Pokey tool” instead of my Take Your Pick Tool LOL) and pick up the small pieces and place them inside the letters of the negative space giving them more definition!
Cut an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Thick Basic White cardstock in half the long way at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score in half at 5 1/2″ and half again at 2 3/4″. Using your bone folder burnish your score lines in both directions to break the cardstock fibers to make them more pliable to be able to hold the easel format more easily.
Cut two strips of All Together DSP into 4 1/4″ x 3/4″. Place your card on Stampin’ Up Graid paper and adhere the first strip to 1/4″ or one grid square above the 2 3/4″ score line.
With a pencil mark the bottom of the card on the grid paper so you are certain the card does not move and place another pencil “tic” mark at the bottom corner of the current DSP and another “tic” mark three boxes or 3/4″ below that top mark.
Using Foam adhesive strips on the back side of the second 3/4″ strip place three strips to raise the DSP up to act as the easel stop.
Open the card to the inside and adhere the second 3/4″ strip in between the top two “tic” marks, making sure to use the grid paper as a guide to ensure the strip is straight on the card.
This raised edge will allow for the cardstock to rest in the easel position and stop the paper from sliding down towards the bottom of the card. (You can also use Stampin’ Dimensionals to achieve the same purpose)
I cut the die cut words apart and adhered the “Here” to the bottom portion of the cardfront.
I colored in a 3×3 section of the All Together
6″ x 6″ DSP with the new Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends and they are selling out fast so if you want these as a whole set put them on my current hostess code PB4YC4FK and you are $5 away from a FREE Sale-a-bration item! This hostess code will be available until tomorrow evening, Saturday February 19th. If you want to purchase these items after Saturday but before Sale-a-bration is over on February 28th use this hostess code – YDUDMVDK!
After coloring in the DSP with the new Naturals Stampin’ Blends, I ounted the DSP onto Basic Black cardstock and adhered only the bottom portion of the focal piece above the “here” die.
I adhered the second half of the word dies to the inside bottom of the card below the easel stop and added a die cut heart to the card to finish it off.
I used the negative space in the same way mounting it onto a double mat of Basic white and Basic Black and adhered it to the second Easel card.
Hoping you love these examples and that they inspire you to create some artwork of your own – one stamp at a time!
