I don’t make 3D projects often because to be frank I just hate storing them LOL but this one was just to fun to pass up! And it will get wrapped up with my Christmas Ornaments in a box until next season after Christmas is over – so I can deal with that!!!
Measurements:
5 pieces of DSP cut to 2″ square
6″ piece of metallic twine
Take each one of the DSP squares and fold them in half
Unfold and wrap in the opposite direction – you will have four smaller squares scored into the 2 inch square when you have completed the second half fold.
Unfold and refold on the diagonal on one diagonal fold only – after each fold crease with the bone folder to get the score lines tight and crisp. Fold as evenly as possible. Repeat this process with all five squares of DSP.
Unwrap the square and “pinch the two opposite diagonal folds in towards the middle creating a smaller 1 inch square. See example pictures below.
Position each square so that the opening is pointing to the lower right hand side and add Tear and Tape in two small strips to the top square. Add each square to the top of the next square – creating a chain of squares.
After attaching all five squares in this fashion add a length of twine in a loop to the Tear and Tape on the top square (position the loop so that it is on the side of the opening) and rotate that top square to adhere to the opposite side of the chain of squares (forming a “circle”)
Once adhered together the ornament comes to life! The paper ornament will look different depending upon the paper that you pick! Have fun with this project and I hope it inspires you to go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time (or in this case one sheet of DSP at a time! LOL)
Happy Creatin’
