This tucked flap tri-fold card is my own spin on a card I received in this month’s fun fold/gift card holder swap! I added a tucked flap to help keep the card folds closed!

Measurements:
BASE: Parakeet Party 7 3/4″ x 11″
score on 11″ side at 3 1/2″ and 7 1/2″
score on the 7 3/4″ side at 3 5/8″
3 1/2″ square Basic White for front flap layer
3″ square of Cottage Gingham DSP
3″ square Basic White for wreath die cut
White scraps for bow, and berries
3 1/2″ basic white square for circle die cut
3 3/4″ x 4″ Basic White CS layer for inside

Cut the bottom two squares out of the base card as shown in photo below.

On the 4″ bottom flap, mark in pencil at the bottom outside edge at 1 1/4″ and 2 3/4″.
Place one of the pencil marks in the cutting groove and slide the closest edge at the score line to the cutting groove track as well and cut the diagonal line.
Spin the paper so the other pencil mark is in the cutting groove and line up the score line edge in the cutting groove as well and cut the diagonal off.
On the 4 1/4″ side flaps, mark each side in pencil on the outside edge at 2 7/8″ and 1 3/8″.
Place one of the pencil marks in the cutting groove and slide the closest edge at the score line to the cutting groove track as well and cut the diagonal line.
Spin the paper so the other pencil mark is in the cutting groove and line up the score line edge in the cutting groove as well and cut the diagonal off.
The cut flaps will look like this.
Take the 3 1/2″ square piece of Basic White CS and place the CS under the bottom flap as shown in the photo below 1/4″ below the upper edge of the flap. Trace the edges of the Parakeet Party CS onto the White cardstock in pencil.
Place the traced white CS in the Stampin’ Trimmer and line the pencil edge to the 1/4″ mark on the right side of the track and cut the paper 1/4″ smaller than the traced lines.
Cut 1/4″ smaller on all three sides of this Basic White CS.
Place the Basic White triangluar piece you just made on top of the Black and White Cottage Gingham DSP and trace the outline.
Cut the DSP 1/4″ smaller than the trace lines.
Adhere the Cottage Gingham DSP to the Basic White CS matte and adhere this to the Front of the bottom flap when it is flipped upwards toward the center of the card.
Stamp the Wreath from the Cottage Wreaths in Parakeet Party ink on the 3″ square Basic White piece of CS and die cut. Stamp three Holly Berry clusters in Real Red ink and the Bow as well and die cut them.
Adhere the berries and bow to the Wreath and adhere the Wreath to the Cottage Gingham triangular piece on the card front positioning it towards the top right of the flap.
Die cut the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes die set and with Parakeet Party ink and a Blending Brush burnish color into the circle. Stamp a sentiment from the Leaves of Holly stamp set in Real Red ink to the right outside edge.
Closing the left flap over the right use Tear N Tape to the exposed upper portion of the right hand flap and adhere the circle just in the upper right side.
Tuck that left hand flap under the Stylish Shapes circle and this will help the card stay closed.
If you place that circle in the upper right hand corner it will peek out under the wreath!

Such a cute and different way to do a card!

Go and try this type of card – go and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time.

Happy Stampin’,
Natalie
