Well it is getting to that time of year again, time for Christmas card making and gift designing! This is a fun interactive pop up gift card holder.
I am using the Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite again – it is just so much fun!

Measurements:
Cinnamon Cider 8″ x 8″ square scored in both directions at 4″ and from corner to corner in one diagonal fold direction only.
Real Red 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and
3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
Gingerbread and Peppermint DSP
3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ x2
(one cut diagonally in half)
3″ x 3″
Basic White 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and scraps for die
cuts and sentiment pieces

Cut an 8″ square from an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock.

Score at 4″ and turn 90 degrees and score at 4″ again.
Flip the paper over and score from corner to corner diagonally on one side only
When you are folding the score lines – you want to find the side that has the score mark going INTO the paper (the little valley) and keep that score on the outside of the fold. The score breaks up the fibers of the paper better on this side of the paper so it is better to fold so that the “valley” portion of the fold is on the outside of the fold. Using a Bone folder, Crease your paper at both 4″ score lines as well as the diagonal fold line.
Fold the paper as in the picture below.
It is easier to decorate the gift card holder when the base is flat – so let’s decorate first.

Take your Real red squares and layer the DSP on top. Decorate with stamps or die cuts from the coordinating DSP.

You should have these three pieces ready to adhere.

Using strong adhesive (I used the Tear n’ Tape) I secured a piece of Tear-n-Tape to the upper middle of the fold in the top right hand square and the outside edge of the bottom left hand square – see photo below.
Remove the Tear-n-Tape and put Stampin’ Seal across the back top and left hand side of the smaller Real Red square then adhere to the upper right hand Cinnamon Cider square – lining up the corner points with the fold. See Photo below
Take the bottom of the Cinnamon Cider paper and fold in half exposing the underside of the card and place a piece of Tear-n-Tape to the left hand edge of the cardstock. Adhere the triangle DSP onto the inside triangle of the bottom left hand box. Remove the backing and adhere the pocket to the side of the card. See Photos
Adhere the 3 3/4″ square to the base of the gift card holder and decorate.
To fold the pop up card down pull on the smaller square and bring toward the bottom edge of the card – it will start to collapse.
Adhere the front square and decorations and insert your gift card!

This is a fun, interactive way to give all those gift cards this season and so easy to make!
I hope I have inspired you to go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’
