Today’s More Color Monday Color Challenge was all about my Fun Fold Swap for the SOLD OUT OnStage 2025 Stampin’ Up! Event starting this coming week in Raleigh, North Carolina. On March 13th lucky demonstrators that registered in the first 6 hours that the event registration was open will be gathering in Raleigh, Strasbourg, France and Brisbane, Australia. I sadly will not be among them this year as I got shut out but a friend and fellow demonstrator that is hosting a large scale swap allowed me to remain on the list so I will have some fun elite OnStage Swaps to share as soon as they return home and he mails them out – stay tuned!

This is the card I submitted to the Fun Fold card swap!

Beautiful Bokeh DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White CS: 3 3/8″ x 3 3/8″

Score the larger Basic Black BASE #1 at 2 1/2″ and 4 1/4″.
Adhere the 1 7/8″ strips of Mixed Media DSP to the first and second panels of BASE #1.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Beautiful Bokeh DSP to the third panel of BASE #1.

Stamp the tulip image from the Mixed Florals stamp set on one of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layers.
Color the smaller flower petals in Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends markers.

Color the lower half of the smaller blooms in Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends and then go over the entire petal to blend the colors with the Light Marker one last time.

Color the tulip petals with the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends marker.

Color the lower half and the highlight marks of the tulip blooms with the Dark Flirty Flamingo marker and then color the entire tulip petal surface with the Light marker to blend the flower petal.

Color the leaves with Soft Sea Foam Light marker.

Highlight with the Dark marker and then blend with the Light marker to finish the leaves.

Die cut the floral image out with the corresponding die.

I cut the flower image in two pieces.

I initially took the first and third Basic White layers the 3 3/8″ square (1st panel) and the 1″ (for the third panel) and embossed them with the Beautiful Butterflies embossing folder I later decided to use the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder – because I liked the smaller pattern for this card!

I stamped the inside sentiment onto the 2″ layer and adhered all three layers to the smaller Z fold BASE #2.

I die cut the rectangular die shape from the Mixed labels die set in Basic Black cardstock and adhered it to the lower portion of the first panel.

I stamped the outside sentiment and die cut from the Mixed Labels bundle and burnished the edges with Flirty Flamingo ink and adhered it above the black die on the first panel.

I folded the smaller z fold closed and added Stampin’ Seal + to the exposed edge of the back of the first panel and adhered it to the middle of the larger BASE #1 first panel.

Then I closed the smaller Z fold and placed Stampin’ Seal + to the back of the third panel and closed the back side of the card over the tape securing the smaller Z fold to the larger z fold.

Adhere the smaller tulip stamped image to the third panel of the smaller z fold so that the leaf is sticking out at the top.

Place Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the large tulip piece and adhere to the left side of the first panels.

I decided I wanted one of the bloom to be Daffodil Delight as I did not have enough of this color on the card. So I redid the smaller bloom in Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

I added Adhesive-Backed Pearl trio embellishments to the card to finish off this fun swap card with some coordinating bling!

I love the way this turned out – how about you do you like the decisions I made during the creative process – changing the flower colors and the embossing folder? Let me know what you think and which way you preferred it!

Do not be shy to change your mind while creating – creative process is a fluid thing and be open to your creative instinct – try new things and do not be afraid to go in a different direction then you originally imagined – you might just like the outcome better than the original inspiration!

Today’s card was a card I designed for last month’s library card class and haven’t posted.

This card uses the Memorable Blooms bundle and even though this stamp set has floral and foliage images and would normally lend itself to very feminine cards but this more masculine card uses the leaf sprig from the Memorable Blooms die set in neutral colors.

Measurements:
BASE: Very Vanilla CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for die
DSP: (2) 3/4″ x 3″ from Naturally Gilded
Specialty paper
(2) 3/4″ x 3″ from the Gold Foil Specialty
paper
Window Sheet: 3″ x 3″

Glue the 3/4″ x 3″ Naturally Gilded Specialty Paper to the top of the Window Sheet.

Glue the 3/4″ x 3″ Golf Foil Specialty Paper to the bottom of the Window Sheet.

Glue the last two Specialty Paper strips to the middle of the Window Sheet spacing evenly.

Place the Window Sheet square in the upper middle of the card and stamp the sentiment below the square in the lower 1/3 of the card in Wild Wheat ink.

Pop up the Window Sheet with Stampin’ Dimensionals strategically placed under the Specialty paper strips so that they do not show.

Adhere the square over the sentiment with the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Place the Neutral Adhesive-Backed Sequins around the sentiment.

Adhere the die cut over the left-hand side of the popped up square.

onstage 2025 beautiful butterflies swap card

I signed up for three special swaps for the upcoming 2025 OnStage event in Raleigh, North Carolina and then it sold out before I had the chance to sign up – I am so sad – I went last year with my sweet friend Barb and we had so much fun and I learned so much. Oh well my friend Michael that I met last year at OnStage is hosting the special swaps and this sweet man allowed me to send him my swap cards and he did not take my name off his lists! So this is one of the special cards I designed for the Demonstrator’s Choice Swap that I am in.
I chose components from some of my favorite new sets: Everyday Arches dies, Beautiful Butterflies bundle and the Elements of Text which is slowly becoming one of my new favorite background sets!

Although this card has a bunch of layers it is not difficult but I have some paper saving tips to make this – so follow along!

Measurements:
BASE: Coastal Cabana CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece for die cut
Lemon Lime Twist Layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White Layer: 3 3/4″ x 5″
scrap for sentiment piece
Fluid 100 paper: 5″ x 7″ sheet

I choose three consecutive arches dies and cut the middle arch out of the center of the Lemon Lime Twist layer and then adhered that layer to the Coastal Cabana card base.

I cut the smallest consecutive die chosen from the center of the Basic White layer and adhered it to the Lemon Lime Twist layer on the card front.

I die cut from the Coastal Cabana layer the largest consecutive die chosen and adhered it over the die openings on the card layers on the card front.

I stamped the circle text image from the Elements of Text stamp set in the center of the Basic White Everyday Arches die in Coastal Cabana ink.
I adhered the Basic White Arch die to the Lemon Lime Twist die and adhered both of them to the Coastal Cabana Arches die on the card front.

I used some of the left over watercolor Fluid 100 paper that I created for the Beautiful Butterflies More Color Mondays card from my February 3rd blog post.
I colored the Fluid 100 paper with Blending brushes in Azure Afternoon, Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist and then splattered the paper with water from a Stampin’ Sprintzer and a water painter.
I then die cut smaller butterfly dies from the Beautiful Butterflies die set.

At the time I created that early February post I had a lot of scrap watercolor paper left over so I cut smaller butterflies from the scraps and this is what I designed to use up all those spare die pieces!

I used three smaller butterfly detail dies and one medium background butterfly die for each swap card.
I adhered one of the small detail butterflies to the background butterfly and adhered all three dies to the top portion of the Elements of Text stamped die piece.

I stamped the sentiment in Coastal Cabana ink and then colored the background of the paper in Lemon Lime Twist with a Blending Brush.

I fussy cut the words out to adhere to the card
at the base of the Basic White Everyday Arches die.

I added Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs to the card in the green hue to coordinate with the card.

After evaluating the card I decided I wanted a little more color on the sentiment piece to balance out the color used in the top of the card. So I removed the sentiment piece and brushed the edges with a Blending Brush and Coastal Cabana ink leaving some of the Lemon Lime Twist background peeking through.

This finished out the card and created a nice balance of color and textures on the card.

Today is Monday and that means the latest color challenge has arrived and you all know that I love the bright colors so this trio is right in my wheel house! Pool Party, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends bring the Mixed Florals stamp image to life and are the perfect foreground for the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ DSP!

DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″

This simple card still packs a punch due to all the gorgeous pigmented colors from the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers!

Coloring with the Stampin’ Blends is so easy and fun. The alcohol markers are streak free and seamless. They make blending a breeze!
I always start with the Light color in the Combo pack and then highlight with the Dark blend and then redraw over the entire image with the Light again to help blend the dark highlights in to the image.

I colored the background with the Pool Party to eliminate the white space between the flower images mimicking sky in the background.

I stamped a sentiment from the Mixed Labels bundle and die cut around the imaged words. I used a blending brush in Pool Party ink to highlight the edges of the die.

I die cut the flowers.

I adhered the DSP layer to the card front.
I adhered the flowers to the right-hand side of the card front over the DSP layer.
I popped up the sentiment piece over the flower stems on the lower left-hand corner of the image.

I added Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the card around the sentiment piece and above the flowers on the upper right-hand side of the card.

I tied the Silver and White Sheer ribbon around the top score line of the card to finish off this lovely card and coordinate the silver in the ribbon and rhinestone embellishments.

When you first start stamping coming up with a card design can be the most difficult thing. Perusing pinterest and blogs is fun but time consuming and if you are in a pinch and need a card in a hurry this is a fun little trick for fast, easy and beautiful designer series paper cards.

One of the tings I LOVE about our Designer Series Paper beside the fact that the artist’s designs are gorgeous works of art is the fact that the artists strive to make the front and backs of each piece of DSP coordinate! This technique plays into that strength!

This card making technique is called cut-flip and add a strip I first saw it years ago from a fellow demonstrator named Patti B and I thank her for the original inspiration!

Measurements:
BASE: Colored CS to coordinate with the DSP
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″, 3/4″ x 4″
Basic White CS: scrap for the sentiments

I made four different cards in a flash with this technique! Three using the Fruit Salad Level One Sale-a-bration DSP and one using the Bloom Impressions Level One Sale-a-bration Rewards!

This one used Pumpkin Pie CS for the base.

I cut the ^” x 6″ piece of DSP to 6″ x 5 1/4″ cutting off the bottom 3/4″ then cut the remianing piece to a 4 ” x 5 1/4″ piece.

Cut the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP piece into two sections 2″ x 4″ and 3 1/4″ x 4″.

I adhered the larger piece to the bottom of the card front.

Flip the smaller DSP piece over to the opposite pattern and adhere above the other DSP piece on the top of the card base.

Because I was making multiple cards I took the remaining 3/4″ x 6″ pieces cut from the bottoms of each of the cards and swapped them so I would have a different pattern of DSP for the strip piece but you could easily add a coordinating color of cardstock as the strip as I do in the last example – your choice!
I adhered the DSP strip over the place where the two pieces of DSP meet.

I stamped a sentiment and border from the Hugs for You bundle in coordinating Pumpkin Pie ink and punched it out with the bundle To the Point punch!

I popped up the sentiment punch on Stampin’ Dimensionals and added it over the strip.

I added Sunny Day Iridescent Dots embellishments to finish off this first card!

This second card uses the Fruit Salad Sale-a-bration DSP as well but I backed it on a Daffodil Delight CS base.

I cut and flipped and adhered the DSP to the card stock base.

I added a strip of DSP in between the two dsp pieces.

I stamped a different sentiment from the Hugs for Love bundle in Daffodil Delight with a different border around the words from the complimentary stamp set called Bright Borders which is also designed to work with the To the Point Punch from this bundle and popped it up over the center of the strip.
I added Sunny Day Iridescent Dots embellishments to finish this card as well.

The third card uses a Coastal Cabana base.
I also stamped the sentiment in Coastal Cabana to coordinate.

Cut the DSP as before flip and adhere to the card base.

Adhere the strip over where the two pieces of DSP come together.

I popped up the sentiment punch over the strip and added the Sunny Day Iridescent Dots in the blue hue.

This used the sentiment from the Hugs for Love stamp set and the border from the Bright Borders stamp set.

The last card uses the Bloom Impressions Sale-a-bration DSP and colored cardstock for the strip.

Cut the DSP and adhere the bottom piece to the base card.

Flip the smaller piece of DSP and adhere over the larger piece on the top half of the card base.

I used a 1″ x 4″ piece of Flirty Flamingo Colored cardstock over the area where the two pieces of DSP come together. Then I fussy cut both ends of a 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Berry Burst CS and adhered it over the Flirty Flamingo strip.

I stamped the sentiment in Berry Burst ink and punched out the stamped image with the To the Point punch. I popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it int he center of the strips. I added Sunny Day Iridescent Dots to finish off this last quick and easy card!

Try this technique to make designing a sweet DSP card a snap! Now go and create a card with some DSP you have lying around your craft space! Create some artwork – one stamp at a time.

Who doesn’t like fun folds? It is one of the most fun types of cards to make – some take a little extra time and materials but they are so worth it!
The Double Z Fold card is a fairly simple design that any card maker can achieve! Try one out and see!

Colored CS: scraps for Mini Alphabet dies

To best utilize your DSP I got all pieces needed out of ONE 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP – cut it this way!
If your paper is directional decide first how you want the direction to run and cut accordingly!
I wanted the watermelon stripes running up and down on the 2 1/2″ x 4″ pieces so I made sure to position the paper that way.
I cut two 1″ strips off the bottom of the paper.
Cut the 4″ x 6″ piece of DSP in (2) 2 1/2″ x 4″ pieces this left me with a 1″ x 4″ strip which I also used.
Cut the 1″ strips into (1) 1″ x 5 1/4″ and
(2) 1″ x 2 1/2″ strips.

Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer to the inside of the 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base.

Adhere the 1″ x 4″ sttrip to the right-hand side of the Basic White layer I left a small border on the right-hand side.

Adhere the (2) 2 1/2″ x 4″ pieces of DSP onto the first two panels of the large base card.

Flip the smaller 1 1/4″ x 11″ piece so that the score lines are oppositely positioned from the large base card. (the larger panel will be adhered to the smaller front panel. This will make a difference if like my card your patterned paper is directional! I wanted my watermelon seeds to have the point side up so I made sure to position them accordingly before adhering onto the panels. Adhere the 1″ x 5 1/4″ strip to the larger left-hand side panel, then adhere the 1″ x 2 1/2″ strips to the two smaller panels on the right-hand side of the 1 1/4″ z-fold.

Match the edges of the smaller Z fold with the first small panel of the larger z fold base card and adhere the first 2 1/2″ portion of the 1″ x 5 1/4″ strip that will be attached to the card. **NOTE: if you put adhesive on the entire 5 1/4″ strip you will adhere the fun fold closed and it will not work because the adhesive will attach to the back of the smaller panel.**

Place adhesive on the back of the third smaller strip and close the card this will attach the smaller z-fold in the correct position.

I realized after I photographed this card that the die cut I grabbed out of my stash was from the retired Everyday Details die set but you can use the Stylish Shapes or Spotlight on Nature dies to get a similar look.
I stamped the sentiment from the Ice Cream Swirl stamp set and cut out the A from the “make a wish” sentiment.
I colored the die with a blending brush in Real Red before popping up the A on the die.
I used a Water Painter in Real Red ink and tapped it over the die cut piece with a bone folder to create a tone on tone splatter effect.

I adhered the circle die to the smaller front z-fold panel.

I took two pieces of Black twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials pack and tied a double bow and adhered it to the sentiment piece with a mini glue dot.

I had a bunch of letters die cut from a previous card in Melon Mambo and instead of wasting them I spelled out MELON and colored them with a blending brush in Real Red ink which gave them a depth of color and texture! Added BONUS!

I adhered the letter die cuts from the Mini Alphabet dies to the top of the second smaller z-fold panel.

I fussy cut three watermelon slices and adhered them to the inside panel of the z-fold and added Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs to finish off this fun fold card!
