This card is all about the color!
I love color and one of the many things I love about Stampin’ Up! Is the coordination of color! Inks and Cardstock match perfectly and the color families coordinate so well together.
This technique is called Angled Blending and it is PERFECT for our new Blending Brushes! There is a list of supplies at the end of this post with links to my on-line store if you decide you HAVE to make this card or desire any of the products I used to make it! I love the way this turned out. Special thanks to Yana Smakula for her awesome youtube video that inspired me. I started with a 4 x 5 ¼ inch sheet of Basic White cardstock (#159256) and cut two scrap pieces of window Sheets (#142314) long enough to cover the width of the cardstock piece. I used old washi tape to secure the first section of the angle and the bottom of the cardstock so the cardstock did not move when I was applying the ink!
Measurements
- Basic White Cardstock
- 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4”
- 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Basic Black Cardstock
- 4-1/8” x 5-1/4

Then I applied Gorgeous Grape ink (#147099) to the first section until the intensity of the color was the desired darkness! Next I removed the window sheet and wiped both sides of the inked edge with a wet paper towel and placed it over the gorgeous grape section leaving a small white border.

Then place a second window sheet at an angle below the color section and secure with washi tape. Apply the second color with the blending brushes until desired color intensity.

Repeat with new colors until the cardstock is completed filled with angled colors.

Add your sentiment and image(s) in Tuxedo Black Momento ink (#132708). The image and sentiment are from the january to June mini catalog stamp set Pretty Perennials (#154435).

Add any embellishments. I used the Opal Rounds (#154289) on this card – I just love the shimmer that they have!

I love the way this turned out!
