This month’s selection is all from the new September to December mini catalog and they are great – I think you will agree!

Kathi D. used the gorgeous new Winter Meadow suite combined with one of the dies from the Christmas Classics bundle. This card lets that beautiful paper do all the heavy lifting.

one inch dsp strip cards

I love sending Christmas cards out – even if it is the only time I communicate with some people I hope it shows them that even in this busy life I still think of them at this special time of year! Since I send out a TON of cards I look for pretty and easy cards that will work in bulk and this is a perfect option.
These simple cards allow our gorgeous Designer Series Paper to do all the work!

Measurements
BASE: Basic White 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Layer: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Designer Series Paper: (2) 1″ x 2 5/8″
(2) 1″ x 3 7/8″
Coordinating Colored Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Fold the Basic White card base at the score line and burnish with your bone folder for a crisp clean fold.

Adhere the Basic white layer to the colored cardstock layer.

Using liquid glue adhere the 1 inch strips around the border of the White layer leaving an even 1/8″ border on the outside and in between the DSP pieces. Alternate the sizes of the DSP pieces. I cut the same images for each size so that the opposing panels would be identical or similar you could choose to use four images as well. I liked the symmetrical look. See sample below for reference.
Attach the layered piece to the card front.
Using a coordinating ink color stamp a sentiment in the center and add embellishments if you like but it is pretty all on it’s own with the gorgeous paper!
You can add detail to the Basic White layer with ink and a mask as I did in this other sample below.
Or just change the paper and the color scheme and get a beautiful alternative look!

These cards are perfect for those of us with busy lives or that send a lot of Christmas cards!

Try this DSP strip technique with paper you have in your craft room and let me know what you come up with! Now go and create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!!

more color mondays – pretty peacock, lost lagoon and smoky slate

more color mondays – pretty peacock, lost lagoon and smoky slate

Fun folds are so appropriately named because they are just plain fun! This peekaboo circle window card is easier than it looks and is so fun to get and open!

Measurements:
Base: Basic White 8 1/2″ x 11″ scored at 4 1/4″
cut in half at 5 1/2″
DSP: 2″ x 5 3/8″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″
Smoky Slate CS: scrap for the large banner die
from Stylish Shapes and strip of 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Pretty Peacock CS: scrap for the thin large
banner die from Stylish Shapes
Vellum CS: scrap for the third largest circle
from Stylish Shapes
Basic White scrap for the largest die from
Stylish Shapes die set

Take the entire sheet of Basic White CS and score at 4 1/4″

Rotate the paper in the paper trimmer and cut in half at the 5 1/2″ mark.
Take one of the scored pieces of card stock and make an additional score line at 2 1/8″. This will be the cards inside piece.
Cut the winter Meadow DSP at 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the card front layer and at 2″ x 5 3/8″ for the z fold portion of the card.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ to the card front this will be the piece that only has the middle score line at 4 1/4″.
Fold the card stock that has two score lines so that the larger portion sits on the left hand side and fold the score line at 4 1/4″ back towards the left then fold the score line at 2 1/8″ back towards the right side of the card stock.
Adhere the 2″ x 5 3/8″ to the upper most fold of the card the small section that has a fold on the left side and the edge on the right.
Run the card front covered in DSP through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the 2nd largest circle from the Stylish Shapes die set.
I designed the card to have a banner on the left side so I cut the circle off centered on purpose. Normally I would have centered the circle so it was even on the top and both sides.
Cut a very small piece off the edge of the larger section of the inside piece so when you adhere the layers together it folds without buckling. I place the card edge just on the right hand dark edge and cut a sliver off the edge.
Adhering the two bases together is tricky and I found the easiest way to do it is place Stampin’ Seal on one side and place the edge of the card front on the top of the Stampin’ Trimmer then add the inside piece by placing the edge up against the top edge of the stampin’ Trimmer as well and laying the second card on top of the first making sure the edges are aligned.
Stamp on Vellum cardstock one of the snowflakes from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink. (Caution allow several minutes to dry on vellum it does not dry instantaneously and will smear if handled too quickly)
when dry die cut with the third largest circle from the Stylish Shapes die set and adhere to the die cut from the card front.
Fold the card and place adhesive through the circle die cut opening only on the DSP fold.
Lay the circle die cut through the circle opening and press into the adhesive on the fold.
Stamp the winter greetings sentiment from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on the largest banner from the Stylish Shapes die set and stamp off with a smaller snowflake on either side of the sentiment.
I added a Pretty Peacock banner to the left side (I eventually decided to add the Smoky Slate CS matte underneath it)
Pop up the sentiment piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the center bottom of the card front.
I added adhesive backed Sparkle gems to the card front.
I decided I wanted more silver tone on the card so I added a larger banner die in Smoky Slate CS and the beautiful new Silver and White Sheer ribbon under the sentiment piece.
Here is a shot of the card partially opened from the top view!
Here is a shot from the front with the card partially opened! So fun!
Here is the card with the added Smoky Slate banner from the front view! I love this color combination and Designer Series Paper makes it so easy to achieve color coordination!

The new catalog is live and the current hostess code is 4RZZKTH7

split front card with a floating element technique

split front card with a floating element technique

What’s better than a mini catalog go live day? Well nothing LOL but how about learning a fabulous new technique? Even better how about combining two fabulous techniques on one card! Today’s card is all about techniques using one new and one past highlighted technique and combining them into one super card! A split front card is a very simple variation on a normal layout cutting each side of the card front at 1 1/4″ from the sides. The Floating elements technique I highlighted on my August 10th, 2022 post last year, it uses a window sheet to make strips of DSP or cardstock appear as if it’s floating off the page!

Measurements:
BASE: Pebbled Path CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4
Pebbled Path layer: 2 3/4″ x 4″ and scrap for
sentiment piece
Basic White Layer: 2 3/4″ x 4″
DSP pieces: (2) 1″ x 4″
(1) 3″ square cut into strips
Window Sheet: 2 1/2″ x 4″

The Mini catalog is now live and the current hostess code in case you have to have something is 4RZZKTH7

Score the card front at 4 1/4″.
Cut from each side 1 1/4″ in from the edge of the card front to the score line.
Run adhesive on the back side of the two outer strips and adhere to the back of the card.
Adhere the 1″ x 4″ strips of DSP to the two cardstock strips you just adhered to the card base.
Adhere the Basic white layer 2 3/4″ x 4″ to the middle section of the card base.
Run the Pebbled Path layer through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder and adhere to the card front’s middle section.
Cut the 3″ square DSP section into incrementally smaller strips. I cut mine at 5/8″ from each outer edge, then 1/2″ from each edge then split the last strip in half at about 3/8″.
Adhere the strips on the window sheet and cut off overlap.
Adhere Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the underside of the middle strips ( as the window sheet will hang over the split front flap and you do not want the mini dimensionals to show.
Stamp the Winter Wishes from the Magical Meadow stamp set in Pebbled Path ink on a Pebbled Path scrap and die cut with the second smallest banner die in the Nested Essentials die set.
Adhere the sentiment piece to the floating element and adhere the floating element onto the middle flap of the split front card.
Add Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems in Silver to the card front and this dynamic duo of technique cards is complete!

Try combining your favorite techniques and go make some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!

new mini catalog is just around the corner – more samples

new mini catalog is just around the corner – more samples

There is so much in this new catalog that I cannot wait for it to go live Wednesday, September 6th – there is not enough space to show you all the great cards and things in here – hopefully you got yours – if not let me know!

The first card features the beautiful Winter Meadow DSP in colors of Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Blueberry Bushel, Moody Mauve and Smoky Slate! This is the Lost Lagoon background paper with the trees pattern that is soft and misty. The Silver and White Sheer ribbon compliments this design perfectly and the Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots tie in the Gray Granite card base color.

This simple single layer card uses Tuxedo Black ink and Real Red Stampin’ Write marker to color only the berries. I die cut NOEL in Smoky Slate and added the Black and White Gingham ribbon. The Adhesive-Backed Sprakle gems are the perfect finishing touch.
This 4″ square of Joyful Specialty paper cut at angles adds a little interest to the DSP layer. Adhered to the Cherry Cobbler base with a Cherry Cobbler Stylish Shapes circle die cut, the sentiment and stamped holly and berries come from the Christmas Classics stamp set1 The Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins tie in the gold foil accents in the Specialty paper!
Stars at Night is a lovely hybrid embossing bundle. Her on a Night of navy card base I adhered a Basic WHite layer embossed with the Stars at Night folder and added a square of the Shining Brightly Specialty paper from the Suite. The die cut in the middle is stamped in Coordinating Night of Navy ink and die cut. I stamped the sentiment from the same set and popped them up with Foam adhesive Strips.
I stamped the smallest snowflake from the Sparkling Snowflakes on the largest Nested essentials banner die in Lost Lagoon and popped it up over the Snowflake Magic Specialty paper mounted on Lost Lagoon cardstock base. The faceted Gems Trio pack adds a great sparkle along with the Silver and White Sheer ribbon.
The soft leaf pattern in the Joy of Christmas DSP makes a great background on Shaded Spruce cardstock base. The white Stylish Shapes die circle blended with Cherry Cobbler ink pops up over the Parakeet Party Metallic ribbon for a lovely sparkle over the red plaid patterned paper.
The Sentiment and the peak of the Pomegranate are from the Magical Meadow stamp set.
The Joy of Christmas DSP continues to shine on our next card with the Pecan Pie musical background paper and the Christmas berry and greenery in the center. The Tinsel Gems Four-Pack pick up the sparkle in the Silver Threaded Twine. The sentiment is from the Christmas Classics stamp set inked in Shaded Spruce to match the card base and the banner from the Nested Essentials die set.
The next card also lets the Joy of Christmas do most of the work the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece is mounted onto coordinating Cherry Cobbler and the Cherry Cobbler Stylish Shapes circle die features the stamps and sentiment from the Christmas Classics set. Iridescent Pastel Gems finish off the card with a sweet sparkle!
Another Specialty DSP shines on this next card featuring the Shining Brightly Specialty DSP and the Stars at Night bundle with dies cut from Gold Foil.
This card uses the same Specialty paper set on a Basic White cardstock base with Night of Navy ink and accents.
Coastal Cabana steals the show with this non traditional Christmas Winter card featuring the Sparkling Snowflake punch bundle!
Joy of Christmas DSP criss-crosses this embossed card front with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. The Winter Wishes sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on our new Deckled Circles die cut. The Iridescent Pastel Gems finish off this round of New Catalog samples!
