more color mondays – color buddies balmy blue, azure afternoon and blueberry bushel

So during our OnStage@Home event a few weeks ago Stampin’ Up! released this color buddy PDF to all the demonstrators attending and uploaded it to the website for us to share with our crafters!

Today’s More Color Monday took it’s inspiration from one of the blue toned sets! Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, and Blueberry Bushel with the Stars at Night Bundle that is on the Last Chance List!

Measurements:
BASE: Blueberry Bushel 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Azure Afternoon: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ scraps for die
Balmy Blue: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ scrap for die

I stamped the large star image from the Stars At Night stamp set in Blueberry Bushel on scrap Basic White card stock and the large dotted starred image in Azure Afternoon on the Basic White layer.
I stamped the smaller star cluster in Balmy Blue around the edges of the dotted star in the center.
Die cut the Blueberry Bushel star.
Adhered the Azure Afternoon Layer to the base.
Adhered the Balmy Blue layer to the Azure layer.
Adhered the Basic White layer on top!
Phew, that’s a bunch of layers!
I die cut three smaller stars out of Azure Afternoon scrap cardstock and popped up the large die on mini Stampin’ Dimensionals! Adhere the larger star die over the dotted star image and adhere the three small dies around the larger one.
Add Tinsel Gems in Blueberry bushel and the card is complete!
Super easy to use this color guide for putting together monochromatic colored cards!

Try this out today and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

last chance list – o holy night suite collection

last chance list – o holy night suite collection

It is always sad to see favorite sets and quality products retire and go away – but the good news is that it makes way for new and equally as exciting products! And as a demonstrator I already received the new catalogs that are on their way to you in a few weeks and they are fun ones filled to the brim with loads of new ideas and stamps and coordinating products!!!

Today’s blog post focuses on one of the gorgeous suites that will be retiring and going away – it is only available while supplies last! and best yet some of the products are ON SALE!!

Night Divine dies #161996 was $27 now $24.30
Stars At Night hybrid folder (dies and EF)
#162006 was $39 now $27.30

Sadly both the Designer Series papers in the suite are already sold out as is the star trinkets! So if you love one of the bundles in the suite time is of the essence!

The Stars At Night bundle comes with our hybrid Embossing folder which means that one or more of the dies fits into the inside of the embossing folder and you can die cut and emboss in one pass through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine!

Place the die in the grooves over the matching stars on the inside of the folder with the Stampin’ Up logo printed on it cutting side up.
Place the paper right side towards the cutting blade and close the folder over the paper. In the case of the Holographic Trio Specialty paper this makes a difference as you want to emboss the correct side of the paper!
I stamped one of the sentiments in Night of Navy ink on Basic White cardstock and die cut with the matching die.
Since the card base is Night of Navy I added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White card stock layer to the card inside and popped up the sentiment onto the layer. I normally do not add dimension to the inside of the card but thought it would be something fun and different.
I added one of the holographic embossed and die cut stars to the left hand side of the inside of the card.
I love the O Holy Night graphic designs but they sold out very quickly!
I cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer for the card front, adhered it on and popped up the smallest die cut star to the scene in the sky!
I took the top half of that piece of DSP and created another card with the bundle!

I added largest star to the card front after adhering the other 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer pf DSP to the card front and added Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels around the star. I stamped the linear sentiment to a 1/4″ scrap strip and brushed ink on with a blending brush and popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals!

I didn’t want to waste any of the grogeous Holographic Trio paper so I used the negative to highlight the matching star on one of the other DSP sheets.
I added three blue Iridescent Pastel Gems to the Holographic paper and secured the retiring White Iridescent ribbon to finish the Smoky Slate card base.
The last card in this series from the Stars at Night bundle uses another scenic paper from the discontinued O Holy Night DSP and die cut a star in the top right hand corner.
I embossed the die cut out in the embossing folder and popped it up on Stampin’ Dimsionals after adhering the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ DSP to a Crumb Cake base.

I stamped the linear sentiment across the light sand in Night of Navy ink for contrast and added Iridescent Pastel Gems to finish the card with some bling.

If you need this set or bundle do not delay they will sell out and soon!

Now go and create the rest of your Christmas Cards one stamp at a time!

new mini catalog is just around the corner – more samples

new mini catalog is just around the corner – more samples

There is so much in this new catalog that I cannot wait for it to go live Wednesday, September 6th – there is not enough space to show you all the great cards and things in here – hopefully you got yours – if not let me know!

The first card features the beautiful Winter Meadow DSP in colors of Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Blueberry Bushel, Moody Mauve and Smoky Slate! This is the Lost Lagoon background paper with the trees pattern that is soft and misty. The Silver and White Sheer ribbon compliments this design perfectly and the Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots tie in the Gray Granite card base color.

This simple single layer card uses Tuxedo Black ink and Real Red Stampin’ Write marker to color only the berries. I die cut NOEL in Smoky Slate and added the Black and White Gingham ribbon. The Adhesive-Backed Sprakle gems are the perfect finishing touch.
This 4″ square of Joyful Specialty paper cut at angles adds a little interest to the DSP layer. Adhered to the Cherry Cobbler base with a Cherry Cobbler Stylish Shapes circle die cut, the sentiment and stamped holly and berries come from the Christmas Classics stamp set1 The Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins tie in the gold foil accents in the Specialty paper!
Stars at Night is a lovely hybrid embossing bundle. Her on a Night of navy card base I adhered a Basic WHite layer embossed with the Stars at Night folder and added a square of the Shining Brightly Specialty paper from the Suite. The die cut in the middle is stamped in Coordinating Night of Navy ink and die cut. I stamped the sentiment from the same set and popped them up with Foam adhesive Strips.
I stamped the smallest snowflake from the Sparkling Snowflakes on the largest Nested essentials banner die in Lost Lagoon and popped it up over the Snowflake Magic Specialty paper mounted on Lost Lagoon cardstock base. The faceted Gems Trio pack adds a great sparkle along with the Silver and White Sheer ribbon.
The soft leaf pattern in the Joy of Christmas DSP makes a great background on Shaded Spruce cardstock base. The white Stylish Shapes die circle blended with Cherry Cobbler ink pops up over the Parakeet Party Metallic ribbon for a lovely sparkle over the red plaid patterned paper.
The Sentiment and the peak of the Pomegranate are from the Magical Meadow stamp set.
The Joy of Christmas DSP continues to shine on our next card with the Pecan Pie musical background paper and the Christmas berry and greenery in the center. The Tinsel Gems Four-Pack pick up the sparkle in the Silver Threaded Twine. The sentiment is from the Christmas Classics stamp set inked in Shaded Spruce to match the card base and the banner from the Nested Essentials die set.
The next card also lets the Joy of Christmas do most of the work the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece is mounted onto coordinating Cherry Cobbler and the Cherry Cobbler Stylish Shapes circle die features the stamps and sentiment from the Christmas Classics set. Iridescent Pastel Gems finish off the card with a sweet sparkle!
Another Specialty DSP shines on this next card featuring the Shining Brightly Specialty DSP and the Stars at Night bundle with dies cut from Gold Foil.
This card uses the same Specialty paper set on a Basic White cardstock base with Night of Navy ink and accents.
Coastal Cabana steals the show with this non traditional Christmas Winter card featuring the Sparkling Snowflake punch bundle!
Joy of Christmas DSP criss-crosses this embossed card front with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. The Winter Wishes sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on our new Deckled Circles die cut. The Iridescent Pastel Gems finish off this round of New Catalog samples!

holographic trio cards

holographic trio cards

Holographic paper is pretty cool and getting three different types in one pack is even more fun!

I set out last week to have a play with the Holographic Trio 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper and the cards are something special. The light plays with Holographic paper and creates a rainbow of refracted light! Hard to photograph but stunning to look at! Holographic paper is made by embossing a pattern or design and then coating the paper in a very thin layer of metal or foil. The resulting sheet has a distinctive iridescent sheen where the embossed design can be seen at certain angles. FUN!!!!

Below are a number of cards I made using the three different types of Holographic paper featured in the Holographic Trio (#151744) This comes as 6 single sided sheets, 2 each of 3 holographic patterns: Berry Burst, holographic and Starry Sky.

The Stars at Night bundle is the perfect collection of products to use with the Holographic Trio! I used the patterned holographic paper in the hybrid embossing folder with coordinating dies and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss mounted it on Balmy Blue cardstoick base and popped up the middle star on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a fussy cut sentiment and retired White Glittered Organdy ribbon.
This next card uses the Berry Burst Holographic paper from the Trio in a 4″ square. The Berry Burst base is covered with a Basic White layer that is embossed with the Stars at Night embossing folder – I die cut the eleven point star out of the Basic White layer and the holographic piece in the center, adhered the white star to the holographic negative space and added a sentiment piece to the card bottom. Iridescent rhinestones and Glittered Organdy ribbon finish off this flashy card!
I used the Hybrid embossing folder with out the die inserts on the plain holographic paper and adhered it to the top of the Azure Afternoon card base. Pretty enough to stand on it’s own with the new Silver and White Sheer Ribbon and a simple banner sentiment piece in Azure Afternoon ink.
My last sample uses the Starry Sky holographic paper with the thirteen point star popped up over the Silver and White Sheer ribbon knot. I mounted the Winter Meadow DSP square over a slightly larger holographic square that I stamped in Misty Moonlight a Sparkling Snowflake and the Make the season sparkle sentiment. I two stepped stamped the largest snowflake from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp on the Basic White cardstock base and mounted the square in the card base center. I added Iridescent Rhinestones to the center of the holographic star and around the sentiment to finish off the Sparkle!
This paper is a real WOW factor! Try it today and go create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!
