There will be FREE make-n-takes and prizes for all those that RSVP and extra prize drawing entries for those that attend and bring a friend that is new to me!

Today’s card truely shows that the creative process is not always straightforward and linear – LOL – I had an idea in mind for this card and it developed into something more as the card progressed!

Measurements:
BASE: Cherry Cobbler 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for the tag medallion die and word die
Basic Beige: 4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for word matte die
DSP: 3″ x 5/14″

I originally started with the tag medallion die being cut from the Basic Beige cardstock but changed my mind.

I embossed the Basic Beige layer with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder and mounted it to the Cherry Cobbler base.
I stamped e merry wor dimage from the Peaceful season stamp set in Cherry Cobbler on the Basic Beige tag medallion die.
Then I decided there was not enough contrast and the tag would be lost on the embossed layer so I will save that for another project!
I die cut another tag medallion in the Cherry Cobbler cardstock and stamped the Merry in Versamark ink and sprinkled the gold embossing powder from our metallics embossing powder collection over the wet, sticky ink.
I heat set the powder with my Heat Tool and the heat melts the embossing powder to a shiny brilliant gold embossing!
The slits on the side of the tag lend itself well to looping ribbon through and I cut about an 8 inch piece of the new Cherry Cobbler and Gold satin ribbon and folded it in half and pushed it through the lower slit and behind the tag and through the top slit. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the tag and added it to the card front center.
I added three Gold Textured Adhesive-Backed Dots to the card front and this made a sweet simple card but I decided I wanted to add more texture and color.
First I added Ink with a small blending brush and the Cherry Cobbler ink below where the tag medallion was resting on the card front and but the tag back on the card.
I still wanted a little more so I cut a 3″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the Cherry Cobbler Seasons of Elegance Specialty DSP and lifted the tag medallion one more time and added this to the card base.
LOL I pulled up everything one more time and using my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend marker I opened the brush tip marker side and taped the side of the marker on the edge of my bone folder while holding the tip about 2-3 inches above the card. Tap the bone folder on the side of the marker this will cause the marker tip to spray a fine mist of ink over the card surface. Now I am done LOL! Not always a straight line but I am happy with the outcome!
Sometimes adding just a little bit more is the answer if you are not satisfied with the original design. Do not be afraid to experiment and add a little something to your next project! Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

nature’s sweetness card in card fun fold

nature’s sweetness card in card fun fold

Blog Post #400 I cannot believe it – hopefully you are enjoying all of the posts! If you have been following me for any length of time you probably have read that I love bright colors! Normally I am not an earth tones warm and fussy girl but this color is fast becoming one of my favorites and it certainly garners the top spot in the neutrals category for me! Pebbled Path is a warm gray brown and goes well with just about anything you match up with it! Today it is the color of choice to pull out of the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty paper for this awesome and easy card in card fun fold!

Measurements:
BASE: Pebbled Path 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Piece 1: Basic White CS 4″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 5 1/4″
Piece 2: Basic White CS 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
DSP for inside of Piece 1: 3 3/4″ x 5″
DSP for outside of Piece 1: 3 3/4″ x 3″
DSP for both sides of flap for Piece 2:
(2) 2 1/4″ x 4″
Pebbled Path scrap for 2 circle dies
Vellum Scrap for largest circle die

Adhere Piece 1 with the score line to the left on the center of the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Base piece.
Adhere the 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of DSP to the inside of Piece 1.
Adhere Piece 2 to the center of the DSP just attached with the score line to the right side and opening to the left. The top flap will lay over the left hand flap of Piece 1.
Adhere the two piece of DSP 2 1/4″ x 4″ to the inside right panel of Piece 2 and the outside of Piece 2. (if there is a direction to your DSP make sure it matches with the way you have set up your card!)
Adhere the 3 3/4″ x 3″ piece of DSP to the outside panel of Piece 1. (if your DSP is directional make sure it matches the direction of your card.
Stamp images and sentiment in Pebbled Path on the circle die cuts from the Everyday Details dies set. Die cut the largest circle from the Everyday Details die set from vellum cardstock.
Adhere them in a pattern that is pleasing to your eye and also will not extend past the score line on the right of Piece 2 so it does not bend the vellum when the card opens.
Adhere to the card only placing tape where the adhesive will not be seen on the vellum and not to extend past the Piece 2 parameters.
Place Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots to the card and you are done!
Such a delightful Fun Fold – try this today with your stamps and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

bend back fun fold with sneak peak products

bend back fun fold with sneak peak products

A few weeks ago on October 30th in one of my More Color Monday posts I made a card using this bend back fun fold but I was highlighting color combinations at the time not the fun fold. This is a super simple fun fold and a lovely way to display many sides of our gorgeous new Nature’s Sweetness 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper!

Measurements:
BASE: Pebbled Path 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″
DSP (2) 1″ x 5 1/4″
(2) 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
white inside layer: 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″

Score the 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Pebbled Path Base card stock at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″.

Fold in half at the 4 1/4″ score line like a regular card then fold the 1 1/4″ score line back on itself like a mini Z fold!

Adhere the first 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP to the inside middle section in between the 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″ score lines.

Adhere the Basic White 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ to the right side of the 4 1/4″ score line leaving an 1/8″ border against the score line.
Adhere one of the 1 1/4″ pieces of DSP to the right hand edge side of the inside of the card leaving an 1/8″ border from the Basic White layer just adhered and the right hand edge of the card.
Close the card front and adhere the last 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP piece to the right side of the 4 1/4″ score line on the card front.

Die cut the binder hole punch die onto the other 1 1/4″ DSP and lace the new Gold Faux Leather Trim through the holes.
Fold the small flap and adhere to the card front.
Adhere this 1 1/4″ piece on the outside of that flap.

Stamp the inside sentiment on the Basic White cardstock layer in Pebbled Path ink.
Stamp the large plant stamp in Pebbled Path ink and die cut. I water colored with Pebbled Path and Petal Pink from a waterpainter brush on the leaves and the petals.

After dry adhere Stampin’ Dimensionals and pop up on the card front.

Color the flowers of the stamped image with Wink of Stella for some added sparkle.
Add some Adhesive Backed Milky Dots to the card front and your bend back fun fold card is complete!

Try your hand at this easy fun fold with the supplies you have around and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

last chance list – o holy night suite collection

last chance list – o holy night suite collection

It is always sad to see favorite sets and quality products retire and go away – but the good news is that it makes way for new and equally as exciting products! And as a demonstrator I already received the new catalogs that are on their way to you in a few weeks and they are fun ones filled to the brim with loads of new ideas and stamps and coordinating products!!!

Today’s blog post focuses on one of the gorgeous suites that will be retiring and going away – it is only available while supplies last! and best yet some of the products are ON SALE!!

Night Divine dies #161996 was $27 now $24.30
Stars At Night hybrid folder (dies and EF)
#162006 was $39 now $27.30

Sadly both the Designer Series papers in the suite are already sold out as is the star trinkets! So if you love one of the bundles in the suite time is of the essence!

The Stars At Night bundle comes with our hybrid Embossing folder which means that one or more of the dies fits into the inside of the embossing folder and you can die cut and emboss in one pass through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine!

Place the die in the grooves over the matching stars on the inside of the folder with the Stampin’ Up logo printed on it cutting side up.
Place the paper right side towards the cutting blade and close the folder over the paper. In the case of the Holographic Trio Specialty paper this makes a difference as you want to emboss the correct side of the paper!
I stamped one of the sentiments in Night of Navy ink on Basic White cardstock and die cut with the matching die.
Since the card base is Night of Navy I added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White card stock layer to the card inside and popped up the sentiment onto the layer. I normally do not add dimension to the inside of the card but thought it would be something fun and different.
I added one of the holographic embossed and die cut stars to the left hand side of the inside of the card.
I love the O Holy Night graphic designs but they sold out very quickly!
I cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer for the card front, adhered it on and popped up the smallest die cut star to the scene in the sky!
I took the top half of that piece of DSP and created another card with the bundle!

I added largest star to the card front after adhering the other 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer pf DSP to the card front and added Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels around the star. I stamped the linear sentiment to a 1/4″ scrap strip and brushed ink on with a blending brush and popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals!

I didn’t want to waste any of the grogeous Holographic Trio paper so I used the negative to highlight the matching star on one of the other DSP sheets.
I added three blue Iridescent Pastel Gems to the Holographic paper and secured the retiring White Iridescent ribbon to finish the Smoky Slate card base.
The last card in this series from the Stars at Night bundle uses another scenic paper from the discontinued O Holy Night DSP and die cut a star in the top right hand corner.
I embossed the die cut out in the embossing folder and popped it up on Stampin’ Dimsionals after adhering the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ DSP to a Crumb Cake base.

I stamped the linear sentiment across the light sand in Night of Navy ink for contrast and added Iridescent Pastel Gems to finish the card with some bling.

If you need this set or bundle do not delay they will sell out and soon!

Now go and create the rest of your Christmas Cards one stamp at a time!
