dynamic swap cards

I love getting the mail! More times than not being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator that participates in card swaps – I find happy mail in my mail box! It is always a thrill to open up a card and discover the design that the demonstrator on the other end dreamed up! I love the surprise of it all! What stamp set was used, what techniques, the embellishments and the fun extras are all such a creative inspiration! Hopefully they are for you also and that is why I share my monthly swaps – you get to see different demonstrator’s styles and stamp sets that I do not own and creative ways to do your cards!

the first swap card is from Carol S. and she used the Earthen Textures bundle of products (#161514) is the 10% saving bundle with the stamp set and coordinating dies. The suite (#161518) contains the bundle, the Earthen Elegance DSP and the Natural Wavy Trim (#161517) used on the card.

Jennie T’s card features the Festive and Fun stamp set (#162078) colored with Stampin’ Blends this fun fold I have detailed in a past blog post and it is easy to show off some fun DSP pieces!
The FREE sale-a-bration DSP Flight and Airy is featured in this swap card from Kathi D. It is paired with the Timeless Arrangements bundle of products (#161526) and Misty Moonlight Inner Braid ribbon (#161638).

This swap card from Judi M uses the Wintry Owls bundle (#162157) which is on the Last Chance list! It also features the Fragrant Forest background stamp (#162108) which is being carried over.
Vickie G’s swap card is a fun pop up design using the Beary Christmas Suite of products which are retiring soon but still available Beary Cute stamp set (#162016) and the Beary Christmas DSP (#162015) the Beary Christmas Memories and more pack is still available also (#162027)
Lori V created this swap card in Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon using the Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle (#162889) available online currently!
Masterfully Made DSP is the highlight of this next swap card (#161192) made by Denise W. along with color coordination in the Masterfully Made Suite Collection (#161207)
This is a Swing and Sway fun fold swap card from Marie W. using the Zoo Crew Suite collection (#161319) The Zany Zoo stamp set (#161305) and the coordinating DSP (#161304) are so versatile in sweet animal print on one side and black and white geometrics on the other! She also used the Merry melody 3D embossing folder on the front panel (#156392).
Mimi H. used the book binding fun fold and the Little Monkeys Bundle with the retiring soon (still available) Garden Walk paper (#162227). She also used the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder (#159170) this is a 2 pack of folders that fits in the mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss!
This pretty swap card uses the Sparkling Snowflakes set from the current mini and will be a carry over product (#162158). Gale R. made the sentiment piece from the new Deckled Circles dies (#162286) another carry over product and the creative matte out of the coordinating tag for that bundle (#162164) the Sparkling Snowflakes Tag Topper!
This card is from one of my sister demonstrator side lines named Lyn L. and she used the Supremely Awesome (#161560) stamp set and the Deckled Rectangles die set (#159173) from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog!
This swap card used retired DSP called Dainty Flowers and the Natural Wavy trim which has been very popular (#161517) and the sentiment and inside stampings are from Dainty Delight (#161078)
This card is from Veronica S. and it uses one of my favorite papers out of the current mini catalog Merry and Bright DSP it sold out quickly but there are still items available on the Last Chance list if you are interested! She also used the Year to Celebrate stamp set (#162279) which is retiring soon and is on sale for $11.40 while supplies last. Current hostess code is SQAAWK23. In the new year I will be starting a program and sending a little something to everyone that orders using the current hostess code! Look for all the details soon!
And to finish off the November swap cards is an out of this world LOL swap card by Susan K. using the Stargazing DSP (#161175) and the coordinating Stargazing Suite (#161189) It’s such a bright and fun card! The inside sentiment reads “You’re stellar” Love that!
Hope these swaps inspired you to go out and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – pretty peacock, lost lagoon and smoky slate

more color mondays – pretty peacock, lost lagoon and smoky slate

Fun folds are so appropriately named because they are just plain fun! This peekaboo circle window card is easier than it looks and is so fun to get and open!

Measurements:
Base: Basic White 8 1/2″ x 11″ scored at 4 1/4″
cut in half at 5 1/2″
DSP: 2″ x 5 3/8″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″
Smoky Slate CS: scrap for the large banner die
from Stylish Shapes and strip of 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Pretty Peacock CS: scrap for the thin large
banner die from Stylish Shapes
Vellum CS: scrap for the third largest circle
from Stylish Shapes
Basic White scrap for the largest die from
Stylish Shapes die set

Take the entire sheet of Basic White CS and score at 4 1/4″

Rotate the paper in the paper trimmer and cut in half at the 5 1/2″ mark.
Take one of the scored pieces of card stock and make an additional score line at 2 1/8″. This will be the cards inside piece.
Cut the winter Meadow DSP at 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the card front layer and at 2″ x 5 3/8″ for the z fold portion of the card.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ to the card front this will be the piece that only has the middle score line at 4 1/4″.
Fold the card stock that has two score lines so that the larger portion sits on the left hand side and fold the score line at 4 1/4″ back towards the left then fold the score line at 2 1/8″ back towards the right side of the card stock.
Adhere the 2″ x 5 3/8″ to the upper most fold of the card the small section that has a fold on the left side and the edge on the right.
Run the card front covered in DSP through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the 2nd largest circle from the Stylish Shapes die set.
I designed the card to have a banner on the left side so I cut the circle off centered on purpose. Normally I would have centered the circle so it was even on the top and both sides.
Cut a very small piece off the edge of the larger section of the inside piece so when you adhere the layers together it folds without buckling. I place the card edge just on the right hand dark edge and cut a sliver off the edge.
Adhering the two bases together is tricky and I found the easiest way to do it is place Stampin’ Seal on one side and place the edge of the card front on the top of the Stampin’ Trimmer then add the inside piece by placing the edge up against the top edge of the stampin’ Trimmer as well and laying the second card on top of the first making sure the edges are aligned.
Stamp on Vellum cardstock one of the snowflakes from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink. (Caution allow several minutes to dry on vellum it does not dry instantaneously and will smear if handled too quickly)
when dry die cut with the third largest circle from the Stylish Shapes die set and adhere to the die cut from the card front.
Fold the card and place adhesive through the circle die cut opening only on the DSP fold.
Lay the circle die cut through the circle opening and press into the adhesive on the fold.
Stamp the winter greetings sentiment from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on the largest banner from the Stylish Shapes die set and stamp off with a smaller snowflake on either side of the sentiment.
I added a Pretty Peacock banner to the left side (I eventually decided to add the Smoky Slate CS matte underneath it)
Pop up the sentiment piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the center bottom of the card front.
I added adhesive backed Sparkle gems to the card front.
I decided I wanted more silver tone on the card so I added a larger banner die in Smoky Slate CS and the beautiful new Silver and White Sheer ribbon under the sentiment piece.
Here is a shot of the card partially opened from the top view!
Here is a shot from the front with the card partially opened! So fun!
Here is the card with the added Smoky Slate banner from the front view! I love this color combination and Designer Series Paper makes it so easy to achieve color coordination!

The new catalog is live and the current hostess code is 4RZZKTH7

new mini catalog is just around the corner – more samples

new mini catalog is just around the corner – more samples

There is so much in this new catalog that I cannot wait for it to go live Wednesday, September 6th – there is not enough space to show you all the great cards and things in here – hopefully you got yours – if not let me know!

The first card features the beautiful Winter Meadow DSP in colors of Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Blueberry Bushel, Moody Mauve and Smoky Slate! This is the Lost Lagoon background paper with the trees pattern that is soft and misty. The Silver and White Sheer ribbon compliments this design perfectly and the Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots tie in the Gray Granite card base color.

This simple single layer card uses Tuxedo Black ink and Real Red Stampin’ Write marker to color only the berries. I die cut NOEL in Smoky Slate and added the Black and White Gingham ribbon. The Adhesive-Backed Sprakle gems are the perfect finishing touch.
This 4″ square of Joyful Specialty paper cut at angles adds a little interest to the DSP layer. Adhered to the Cherry Cobbler base with a Cherry Cobbler Stylish Shapes circle die cut, the sentiment and stamped holly and berries come from the Christmas Classics stamp set1 The Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins tie in the gold foil accents in the Specialty paper!
Stars at Night is a lovely hybrid embossing bundle. Her on a Night of navy card base I adhered a Basic WHite layer embossed with the Stars at Night folder and added a square of the Shining Brightly Specialty paper from the Suite. The die cut in the middle is stamped in Coordinating Night of Navy ink and die cut. I stamped the sentiment from the same set and popped them up with Foam adhesive Strips.
I stamped the smallest snowflake from the Sparkling Snowflakes on the largest Nested essentials banner die in Lost Lagoon and popped it up over the Snowflake Magic Specialty paper mounted on Lost Lagoon cardstock base. The faceted Gems Trio pack adds a great sparkle along with the Silver and White Sheer ribbon.
The soft leaf pattern in the Joy of Christmas DSP makes a great background on Shaded Spruce cardstock base. The white Stylish Shapes die circle blended with Cherry Cobbler ink pops up over the Parakeet Party Metallic ribbon for a lovely sparkle over the red plaid patterned paper.
The Sentiment and the peak of the Pomegranate are from the Magical Meadow stamp set.
The Joy of Christmas DSP continues to shine on our next card with the Pecan Pie musical background paper and the Christmas berry and greenery in the center. The Tinsel Gems Four-Pack pick up the sparkle in the Silver Threaded Twine. The sentiment is from the Christmas Classics stamp set inked in Shaded Spruce to match the card base and the banner from the Nested Essentials die set.
The next card also lets the Joy of Christmas do most of the work the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece is mounted onto coordinating Cherry Cobbler and the Cherry Cobbler Stylish Shapes circle die features the stamps and sentiment from the Christmas Classics set. Iridescent Pastel Gems finish off the card with a sweet sparkle!
Another Specialty DSP shines on this next card featuring the Shining Brightly Specialty DSP and the Stars at Night bundle with dies cut from Gold Foil.
This card uses the same Specialty paper set on a Basic White cardstock base with Night of Navy ink and accents.
Coastal Cabana steals the show with this non traditional Christmas Winter card featuring the Sparkling Snowflake punch bundle!
Joy of Christmas DSP criss-crosses this embossed card front with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. The Winter Wishes sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on our new Deckled Circles die cut. The Iridescent Pastel Gems finish off this round of New Catalog samples!

holographic trio cards

holographic trio cards

Holographic paper is pretty cool and getting three different types in one pack is even more fun!

I set out last week to have a play with the Holographic Trio 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper and the cards are something special. The light plays with Holographic paper and creates a rainbow of refracted light! Hard to photograph but stunning to look at! Holographic paper is made by embossing a pattern or design and then coating the paper in a very thin layer of metal or foil. The resulting sheet has a distinctive iridescent sheen where the embossed design can be seen at certain angles. FUN!!!!

Below are a number of cards I made using the three different types of Holographic paper featured in the Holographic Trio (#151744) This comes as 6 single sided sheets, 2 each of 3 holographic patterns: Berry Burst, holographic and Starry Sky.

The Stars at Night bundle is the perfect collection of products to use with the Holographic Trio! I used the patterned holographic paper in the hybrid embossing folder with coordinating dies and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss mounted it on Balmy Blue cardstoick base and popped up the middle star on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a fussy cut sentiment and retired White Glittered Organdy ribbon.
This next card uses the Berry Burst Holographic paper from the Trio in a 4″ square. The Berry Burst base is covered with a Basic White layer that is embossed with the Stars at Night embossing folder – I die cut the eleven point star out of the Basic White layer and the holographic piece in the center, adhered the white star to the holographic negative space and added a sentiment piece to the card bottom. Iridescent rhinestones and Glittered Organdy ribbon finish off this flashy card!
I used the Hybrid embossing folder with out the die inserts on the plain holographic paper and adhered it to the top of the Azure Afternoon card base. Pretty enough to stand on it’s own with the new Silver and White Sheer Ribbon and a simple banner sentiment piece in Azure Afternoon ink.
My last sample uses the Starry Sky holographic paper with the thirteen point star popped up over the Silver and White Sheer ribbon knot. I mounted the Winter Meadow DSP square over a slightly larger holographic square that I stamped in Misty Moonlight a Sparkling Snowflake and the Make the season sparkle sentiment. I two stepped stamped the largest snowflake from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp on the Basic White cardstock base and mounted the square in the card base center. I added Iridescent Rhinestones to the center of the holographic star and around the sentiment to finish off the Sparkle!
This paper is a real WOW factor! Try it today and go create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

mini catalog sneak peak – did you get yours?

mini catalog sneak peak – did you get yours?

After 22 years of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator you would think I wouldn’t get so excited for a new catalog launch! LOL! I always think they cannot possibly come up with new stamps that I HAVE to HAVE!!! But this company is awesome and they out do themselves all the time! And this time they REALLY outdid themselves! This upcoming September to December mini catalog is one of the best I can remember. I received my pre-order this week and I couldn’t wait to get creating!

I have so many ideas and below are just a few samples! If you are not currently working with a demonstrator and would like me to send you a new mini catalog please message me and I will mail one out asap!

The first suite I took out and played with was the Joy of Christmas Suite – the whole suite is lovely, the dies are fabulous and the papers are classic! There are two stamp and die bundles in the suite, 2 packs of DSP, Loose Holly Gems and Sequins embellishments pack and Black and Vanilla Gingham ribbon. I loved it all and needed to get it to show you some wonderful projects!
The first card is a simple card using the dies from the Christmas Classics Bundle and ink blending for the background in Real Red and Shaded Spruce in true Christmas colors!

This next card uses non traditional Christmas colors in the same bundle but a different die in Blended Ink in Coastal Cabana, the background of the base and layered cardstock is embossed with a new embossing folder called Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder and embellished with the Tinsel gems Four-Pack.
The other stamp bundle in this suite is called Joy of Noel and the first card I make with this card was for Wednesday’s Blog Post and I cased the card on the cover of the mini catalog! The second card I made was this one below that starts with a Poppy Parade cardstock base, stamped with the NOEL stamp in coordinating Poppy Parade ink with die cuts colored with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in Lost Lagoon, Shaded Spruce and Poppy Parade. The die cut letters of Noel are popped up on Mini Dimensionals in More Dazzle 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper and embellished with the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
This next card is a simply stamped Christmas card from the same Joy of Noel bundle opting to only color the berries in Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write marker and add the Noel die cut letters in Smoky Slate cardstock with Black and white Gingham ribbon and Adhesive-Backed Sparkle gems.
The next set of cards used the Sparkling Snowflakes Punch bundle. The card below is a peek-a-boo card in Coastal Cabana with a window die cut from the new Deckled Circles die set containing 14 concentric circles with a Deckled edge.
I love this color combination for snowflake cards – Coastal Cabana Gorgeous Grape and Azure Afternoon! This card below features all three of these colors in a whimsical Winter card on a Azure Afternoon cardstock base with a die cut fromthe Christmas Classics Bundle and the Tinsel Gems Four-Pack as the sparkle!
This next card also uses the Sprakling Snowflakes stamp set and all the colors as the previous card but also incorporates the gorgeous Silver and White Sheer Ribbon as it’s focal embellishment!
I fell in love with the Winter Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series paper – the soft winter scenes were irresistible to me and I bought the whole suite because of the paper!
This first card from this suite features the stamp set, the dies and the paper. I added Tinsel Gems and Misty Moonlight Inner Braid ribbon for the embellishments.
This next card from this suite uses the soft Pebbled Path hued winter scene with a deer in the foreground, I added Pebbled Path ribbon, In Color Decorative Dots and a Stylish Shapes circle die with the Winter Wishes sentiment from the Winter Meadow stamp set. A super easy and elegant card!
The last card from this suite features the Misty Moonlight infused watercolored images of trees in a 4″ square with the Misty Moonlight Inner Braid Ribbon and the Neutral Adhesive-backed sequins around my favorite sentiment from this set!

I continue to create from this pre-order haul and will continue to share in upcoming Facebook and blog posts.

Let me know if you have not received a mini catalog yet and I will resent one in the mail, and if you are new to stamping or to me and would like me to become your demonstrator, please feel free to message me!

Go and make a list of your favorites from this catalog and I cannot wait to see what your list entails and what you must have first! Now go create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!
