strips, scraps and sequins

strips, scraps and sequins

This card features strips, scraps and sequins.
It is a fun way to make a card with strips and scraps.

Measurements:
BASE: Smoky Slate 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
3″ x 4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
3″ x 4″

Using the 3″ x 4″ pieces of Smoky Slate and Basic White, tear the strips and adhere them to another 3″ x 4″ piece of card stock.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of cardstock to the Smoky Slate card base.
Adhere the strip piece to the card base.
Stamp the Timeless Arrangement sentiment in Old Olive, die cut the sentiment and place Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment piece. I adhered the scraps from a previous card under the sentiment piece and adhere to the card.
Place five Neutrals Adhesive-backed sequins on the card front.
Here are a few examples of different strips and scraps.
You can use this technique with all kinds of cards, strips and scraps!
Try this technique with your strips and scraps.
Go and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time.

more color monday – pool party, lemon lolly and soft seafoam

Do you struggle deciding what to stamp or design? Do you have a hard time trying to decide on color combinations? Our color coach is a easy way to avoid those indecisive moments! Interested in what our color coach is – e-mail me and get a copy! 10 pages of delightful color combinations and this is one of them!
Today’s More Color Monday is all about Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Soft Seafoam. I was looking for a color combination I would not normally pick out so I referred to our color coach and found this threesome and decided to try it out!
Measurements:
Base: Pool Party 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″

I started with an E acrylic block and the three colors of ink pads. I added Pool Party to the top of the block.

I added Lemon Lolly to the middle.
I added Soft Seafoam ink to the bottom of the acrylic block.
I placed the block ink side up on a Silicone Craft sheet to protect my work surface and sprayed the acrylic block with plenty of water until the ink started to run together.
Lift the block and add the Basic White layer on the Silicone craft sheet, quickly invert the acrylic block and place in the center of the card stock and press firmly on all sides of the block.
Remove the block and allow the card stock to dry.
Each time you do this the outcome will be unique!
Stamp the three different grass stamps onto the bottom of the inked paper.
Stamp in Lemon Lolly the splatter stamped image onto the Lemon Lolly portion of the Basic White cardstock to add some depth and dimension.
Add the Sentiment – I choose one from the Waves of Inspiration and I also stamped a few birds from that set as well in Pool Party ink.
I die cut the cloud image on a scrap piece of Basic white and with a Blending Brush added clouds to the Pool Party section of the White layer which added more depth and dimension!
Using the edge of my Paper Snips I distressed the edges of the Basic White stamped layer.
I adhered the Basic White layer to the Pool Party card base and added Iridescent Rhinestones around the sentiment.
Here is another version using the Ombre Matte Decorative Dots for the embellishment.
I love these color challenges and hope that you are playing along when you can! Now go and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

flap fun fold masterfully made dsp card

flap fun fold masterfully made dsp card

I cannot believe that today is the last day of June – just crazy! Today is also the last day of the 15% off Designer Series Paper sale. It is also the last day of the current hostess code TZ9Z3W2M. I have one packet left from my paper share if anyone is interested let me know! $25 for over 100 sheets of 6″ x 6″ DSP – one of each of the double sided DSP sale merchandise! So many great designs and one of my surprising favorites (didn’t think I liked it this much until I actually saw it in person and now I LOVE IT!) Masterfully Made DSP is what I chose for this fun fold card today!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 8 1/2″ x 11″
(3) 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
scraps for sentiment pieces
DSP: (1) 4″ x 5 1/4″
(1) 3″ x 5 1/4″

Score the entire sheet of cardstock at 5 1/2″ on the 11″ side and at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.
Cut the upper left hand piece out.

Cut 1/2″ off both sides of the upper right hand piece, leaving a 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ section.
I rotated my card horizontally but the card can be made either way!

I used a blending Brush on the three 1/4 sheets of Basic White cardstock, leaving lighter and darker spaces in Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst and Old Olive inks. Then I die cut the berries and flowers from the Timeless Arrangements die set from each of the pieces of card stock.

I stamped two sentiments onto scrap Basic White cardstock and die cut them with the stitched rectangle dies and stamps from the Timeless Arrangements set and gathered up all the pieces for the card making.
I opened up the flap on the inside and stamped the last sentiment onto the card base in Blueberry Bushel ink.
I added the smaller piece of DSP to the front side of the flap and adhered it down.
I adhered several Berry die cuts to the bottom of the thank you sentiment piece and adhered it to the lower portion of the flap so that the berries hung down over the flap but did not extend past the card base perimeter.
I adhered all the colored die cuts to the back of the “your kindness means everything to me” sentiment piece and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the underside and adhered it to the card front.
I finished the card with Ombre Matte Decorative Dots.
I love the surprise of the extra flap when you open up this card – an unexpected extra layer of fun.
Try this fun fold soon and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – fresh freesia, berry burst and lemon lime twist

more color mondays – fresh freesia, berry burst and lemon lime twist

Well today is Monday and that equals color around Natalie’s stamp studio! This month is June and that means a Designer Series Paper sale and Paper Share! Do you know what I love about our DSP – well let me count the ways LOL!
1. Color Coordination
2. Color Guide on the back that lists all of the
colors in the DSP
3. It is hand made by our talented designers!
4. It gives me ideas for the color challenges!

There are many more reasons these are just a few…

Today’s color challenge was inspired by the Masterfully Made DSP – the paper was designed and then made and the artists tore the paper apart and put it “Masterfully” back together and photographed it and it went to print for us to buy, enjoy, and create with!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
DSP: 2″ x 5 1/4″ x2 using one of each side
scrap of Berry burst for the sentiment
scrap of vellum for underneath the sentiment

Adhere the first piece of 2″ x 5 1/4″ DSP to the left side of the card leaving an even border around the top, bottom and left side of the card.
Butt the second DSP piece up to the first and match up the top and bottom edges and adhere to the card base.
Using the Irresistible Blooms stamp set, stamp the Hello sentiment on a Stylish Shapes die in Berry Burst ink on Berry Burst card stock.

Stamp the large flower image twice in Fresh Freesia on the Vellum piece.

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the sentiment circle and add Stampin’ Seal to the middle of the Vellum piece where it will be covered by the circle.
Adhere the vellum piece onto the card – I added the piece over one of the flowers to lend color to the stamped flower on the vellum. Then add the popped up sentiment piece over the middle of the vellum piece.
Add the Fresh Freesia embellishments from the Tinsel Gems Three-pack on the vellum and the card is complete!

Love this color combination and I hope you do as well! Now go and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time and upload a photo of your card in today’s Facebook post about the color challenge!

dsp four corner card

dsp four corner card

I saw some cute cards on Kreations by Kevin’s website and designed one of my own with Fresh As A Daisy DSP.

Measurements:
Base: Pretty Peacock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
2″ square
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
1/4″ strips
DSP: 6″ square

Adhere the 2″ square diagonally in the center of the Basic White CS piece.
Adhere a 1/4″ strip from one corner of the diamond to the end of the CS piece.
Adhere another strip to each side of the diamond.
Adhere DSP to the corners inside the strips. Alternate the DSP between A side and B side.
Ink the Happy Birthday stamp on the 1/4″ strip from the Something Fancy stamp in Pretty Peacock ink.
Add a small Flower die to the center of the card front.
Add Tinsel Gems Four-Pack to the card front for some sparkle.
Add the card front piece to the card base.
Here is another sample.
This is a fun way to use Designer Series Paper.
Now go and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!
