I cannot tell you all how excited I am that Vellum cardstock is BACK!!!

Gone for only a little while but certainly long enough to be missed! This translucent cardstock elevates any project so easily! Today’s card is a super simple one but looks like you put in all the effort!

scored at 5 1/2″
Brushed with Beauty DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Run a 4″ wide layer of Vellum Cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine using the BASE plate #1 and embossing plate #4 with the Sunflower 3D embossing folder.
Cut the calypso Coral piece of Brushed with Beauty DSP to 4″ x 5 1/4″.

Cut the vellum to 4″ x 5 1/4″ size and adhere to the DSP piece.

Adhere the Vellum/DSP layer to the card front of the card base.
I used the banner from the Stylish Shapes dies set and die cut a scrap of Calypso Coral.

Stamp the “Get Well Soon” from the Friendly Foliage stamp set in Calypso Coral ink to the banner.

Pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the card front.

Adhere five Pearls of Beauty embellishments to the card front. Easy Peasy this impressive card is complete!

more color mondays – balmy blue, old olive and basic beige

Today’s another color challenge to inspire you to more creativity in your card design work!

The palette today is soft and neutral – perfect for a soft, subtle thank you card for someone special. The card features a gorgeous product that was introduced with the new annual catalog and I have totally ignored until now! I purchased it in the pre-order and then got busy with the new stamps and dies and forgot I had it! The Irresistible Designs contains 2 one-sided sheets of 3 different designs of white tone on tone embossed images in a leaf, floral and criss-cross pattern – used as is or colored to create stunning effects – this paper is amazing!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic Beige CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Balmy Blue CS: scrap for die

Using blending brushes in a soft circular motion – starting off the paper – I colored in a diagonal pattern Old Olive ink at the bottom right-hand corner, Basic Beige ink in the middle and Balmy Blue in the top left-hand corner.
Because the specialty paper in embossed the image does not take the ink and pops off the page in a spectacular fashion!
Adhere the specialty paper to the Basic Beige card base and add a small piece of the Basic Beige Classic ribbon folded in a loop to the card.
I stamped the thanks and the leaf image from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set in Old Olive ink on a Balmy Blue die cut from the Spotlight on Nature die set. I popped up the sentiment die on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered it over the ribbon loop.
I added three gold flecked embellishments from the Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems – these actually have a section of clear gems as well as the two pink colors and are perfect for this wonderful card!

Have you played with this type of Specialty paper before? It is super fun and produces easy, amazing results – try your hand at it soon!
Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

Butt the edges of the strips together so no white space from the card base can be seen between the strips and so that the edges are even with the top strip. Adhere to the card base.
Adhere the last two strips – putting Secret Sea on the bottom as it is the darkest of the colors it will anchor the card and will show be the most subtle to show the stamping.
Stamp the flower image from the Mixed Florals stamp set across the right-hand side of the strips – make sure to press evenly across the entire surface of the stamp but being careful not to rock the stamp. Stamp with Secret Sea ink pad.
Choose a linear sentiment that will fit across one color strip from the Mixed Labels stamp set and stamp across the top strip in Secret Sea ink.

more color mondays – daffodil delight, coastal cabana and flirty flamingo

It’s Monday and that means another color challenge. Today’s challenge features Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo!

I am using a Faux Layering technique and embossing for this simple and stunning card!

Measurements:
BASE: Coastal Cabana CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and scrap for
sentiment piece.

Tear post it notes or masking paper and layer on the top and bottom of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White piece. Leave about 1 1/2″ – 2″ gap in between the post it notes.

Using a Blending Brush, layer Coastal Cabana on the bottom third of the opening.

Using a second blending brush add a layer of Daffodil Delight ink above the Coastal Cabana overlapping the colors slightly!
Using a third blending brush layer Flirty Flamingo across the top of the opening and overlap with the Daffodil Delight slightly – this creates a gradient look and new colors in the mix!
Stamp one of the images from the Online Exclusive Prairie Grass stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink across the Post-It notes three to four times across the paper.
Remove the Post-It notes.
Place the Basic White colored layer in the Eyelet 3D embossing folder and emboss.
Adhere to the Coastal Cabana card base.
I used a 1″ x 2 3/4″ scrap of Basic White CS and stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink a sentiment from the Prairie Grass stamp set.

I colored the cardstock with a Blending Brush and Flirty Flamingo ink.

I distressed the edges with the edge of my Snips scissors and then popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and layered it in the left-hand upper corner of the card.

I added some black dots to finish off this dramatic silhouette faux layer card!

Try this technique and see what you can create – one stamp at a time!
