bloom impressions double panel z-fold card

bloom impressions double panel z-fold card

Today’s card is an easy variation on a simple Z fold fun fold card just by adding two layered panels you get an added look and lots of space to decorate and embellish!

Measurements:
BASE: Shy Shamrock CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside BASE panel
and (2) 2 1/2″ x 4″ two left BASE panels
Melon Mambo CS: (2) 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
Peach Pie CS: (2) 3″ x 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: (2) 2 3/4″ x 4″
scrap for large butterfly die

I grabbed a 4″ x 5 1/4″ scrap of Basic White and stamped the largest butterfly image from the new Beautiful Butterflies bundle in Memento Black ink.
I colored the butterfly with the Peach Pie and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends markers and then die cut the image.
PAPER SAVING TIP: Whenever you have multiple layers that will be adhered to a surface you can die cut from the middle and reduce the weight of the card and get extra embellishments and dies from the paper that would have been covered!
I die cut four detailed smaller butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies die set from the middle of the Melon Mambo layers.
(HAPPY ACCIDENT: forgot that the front layer would only be half adhered! See the results at the end LOL!)
Adhere the panel layers together and decorate as you wish.

I die cut one of the Basic White layers with the lattice die from the new Linked Together bundle.

Then I adhered and stamped and decorated with the Beautiful Butterflies bundle!

I adhered the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP to the inside BASE panel then I adhered the two smaller DSP panels to the two smaller left BASE panels.
I adhered the inside colored cardstock layered panels to the center of the back BASE panel over the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP layer.
I adhered three Sunny Day Iridescent Dots Embellishments to the front layered panel and adhered it so that it covers the panel on the inside so it is a little surprise when you open up the card!
Make sure that you only place adhesive on the left side of the panel as half the panel will be hanging off the first Z fold panel!
I adhered one last detailed small butterfly die back into the area I die cut that I forgot would not be covered OOPS! but here is my HAPPY ACCIDENT – think it looks like I meant to do it!

Hoping you can turn all of your accidents into happy ones!

Sale-a-bration is in full swing and you can earn FREE merchandise or get an awesome deal on the Starter kit!

My Open House will be moved to next Friday as I am still settling back in from vacation I realized that I did not schedule the e-mail invitation correctly and it did not send to you all! Another OOPS! In my defense my brain is still on island time!

Now go and try this fun fold whenever you get a chance – it is snowing here so that is always a good time to create! Go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – highland heather, summer splash and shy shamrock

more color mondays – highland heather, summer splash and shy shamrock

I love today’s color challenge – bright colors speak to me and make me happy!
I grabbed the Beach Day bundle and our three colors for this week’s color challenge!
Highland Heather, Summer Splash and Shy Shamrock!
I store my cardstock in plastic sleeves from Stampin’ Storage I have two sleeves for each color one is top loaded for my paper scraps and one is side loaded for my 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock!
I grabbed my folders and pulled out 1/8″ strips that I had saved from another project!
I grabbed a scrap of Basic White and adhered the strips of Shy Shamrock and Summer Splash in an alternating pattern to the scrap.
Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink I stamped the paddle board over the strips of cardstock.
I fussy cut the boards out of the stripped cardstock.
Starting with a Basic White cardstock base and with blending brushes and ink I blend Basic Beige neutral for the sand on the bottom half of the card base and Summer Splash for the sky on the top half.
Cut the palm fronds from the Shy Shamrock cardstock and the trunk from scraps of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Stamp the sand castle in Crumb Cake and die cut it out.
Stamp the umbrella and color with the light Highland Heather and light Summer Splash.
Arrange them in two clusters.
Die cut the waves out of a strip of Summer Splash card stock.
Glue onto a Basic White strip.
Adhere two waves strips at the meeting point of the sand and sky.
Adhere the two clusters on each side of the card base.
Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment onto Basic White cardstock with Summer Splash ink. Fussy cut the words out and pop it up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added In Color Shimmer Gems in Summer Splash color around the sentiment piece.
I then added the Summer Splash Bordered Ribbon and tied it in a knot at the top score line of the card base.
I decided I wanted a little more color to the mix and stamped three beach balls in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored them in Highland Heather and Summer Splash Light Stampin’ Blends markers. I die cut them out and added them behind the sand castle and popped up in front of the two palm trees.
I think that added just the right touch of extra color to the card!
Try these colors on your next project! No go and create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time!

channel sliding lock fun fold

channel sliding lock fun fold

Today’s card is a very fun Sliding Lock fun fold card or a Channel Lock Fun Fold. I saw this card on a fellow demonstrator’s website – thanks for the inspiration Jacque W!

Measurements:
BASE: Shy Shamrock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″
scored on the 8 1/4″ side at 2″ and 6 1/4″
top inside panels embossed: (2) 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White inside layer: 4″ x 5 1/4
top matte panels (2) 1 7/8″ x 5 3/8″
scrap pieces for 2 die cut circles

Emboss the Shy Shamrock panels in the Dotted Circle 3D embossing folder, and mount onto the Basic White matte pieces.
Score the base card at 2″ and 6 1/4″ and fold inward towards the middle of the card.
Adhere the panels to each side panel matching the embossing pattern if there is one – since I chose the concentric circles of the Dotted Circles embossing folder I matched up the pattern and adhered the panels appropriately.
Stamp the inside Basic White layer making sure that the design is kept hidden from view in the channel while the card is closed.
I stamped leaves on the bottom of the layer in Shy Shamrock and a butterfly from the Spotlight on Nature set in Petunia Pop ink in the top right-hand corner above the channel opening.
Adhere the Basic White inside layer to the inside base of the card.
Choose a Spotlight on Nature circle large enough for the Flower image and stamp the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
Using the Light Petunia Pop Stampin’ Blends marker, I colored in the flower petals.
Using the Dark Petunia Pop Stampin’ Blends marker I highlighted the flower petals at the base and drew over the shading lines. Then reapplied Light ink from the Stampin’ Blends Light Petunia Pop marker to blend.
I colored the leaves with Light and Dark Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blends markers.
I die cut a smaller circle from the Stylish Shapes die set and leaving a portion outside the card to make sure the circle was even from top to bottom in the channel I placed it inside the card and drew a line in pencil in the middle of the backside of the circle.
I added a Foam Adhesive Strip on the pencil mark on the backside of the Stylish Shapes circle die.
I removed the paper release paper from the Foam Adhesive strip and while in the channel attached the larger colored circle die on top of the one in the channel.
I added a sentiment piece onto the colored circle die after stamping the sentiment, cutting a banner edge and burnishing the edges with Shy Shamrock ink with a Blending brush. I popped it up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals over the flower image. I added three 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems in Shy Shamrock color to finish off the card with a little sparkle!
This now can slide through the channel to keep the card closed and provide a locking mechanism! So much FUN!
This is the finished card with the Channel Locking mechanism in the center!
You can use any punch or die or shape for the locking mechanism – be creative and see what you can design! Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – petunia pop, summer splash and shy shamrock

more color mondays – petunia pop, summer splash and shy shamrock

This More Color Monday color challenge I wanted to play with some of the new In Colors and I thought it would be fun to show you a little of my creative process.

I knew that I wanted to use the Spotlight on Nature so I stamped and colored with Stampin’ Blends a few of the images from the set. I used the Petunia Pop and Shy Shamrock for the flowers and Petunia Pop and Summer Splash for the butterfly.
I die cut a few of the Spotlight on Nature dies these are awesome concentric circles with different patterns around the rims! I love them!

I cut a couple different card bases and laid out the die cut items on the base to see which I liked – I liked them both it was a difficult choice but I ended up mounting the card with the Shy Shamrock card base.

I added Petunia Pop ribbon to the left-hand side of the card base and adhered the items onto the card.
I added some In Color dots to the finished card.
I set the card out to photograph and I just thought it needed a little more contrast!
So I pulled everything up and added a 2″ piece of embossed Basic White paper to the right-hand side. This is the 3D Swirly embossing folder another larger format EF! I love it!
And I liked the final decision! What do you think?
Sometimes you just need to add a little contrast and sometimes you just need to let it be! 22 years as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator has given me the confidence to know the difference! Looking for a demonstrator to teach you more about the art of papercrafting – I would love to help you learn!

Now it’s your turn to go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
