early bird swaps arrive

early bird swaps arrive

Every month I find a new inspiration to share with you from my upline and sideline swap group! Last week I shared my own versions of the Twisted Book Bind Easel card and making your own Designer Series paper as a background for a card – you will find the inspiration card below and so much more. All these cards came from a December Early Bird new catalog swap! Enjoy!

This first swap card was designed Jeanna T and uses the Perennial Lavender DSP from the new mini catalog and the Jungle Pals Sale-a-bration offers both the stamp set in Level One and the coordinating dies set in Level Two!

Carol S’s swap card features the Sale-a-bration Level Two Softly Sophisticated Bundle in shades of Boho Blue, Calypso Coral and White with Flight and Airy Sale-a-bration Level One DSP.
This next swap card is full of whimsy combining the Cutest Cows Bundle and the Sunny Days Sale-a-bration Level One DSP designed by Lyn L.
Veronica’s adorable Let’s Chat card is from a new set in the 2024 January to April Mini Catalog and is a sweet card you could send to any friends or family!
Another stamp set full of whimsy is the Submarine Life and our swap leader Denise W sent this cute card in hues of Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist! I love how the Iridescent Adhesive Dots look like bubbles in the water!
Jennie T’s swap card uses the new Enduring Beauty bundle with stamps, dies and coordinating mask for easy coloring!
The swap card below features the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle from the mini catalog and the Flight and Airy DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog for a sleek and sophisticated sympathy card.
Kathi D’s swap card features the Flight and Airy DSP as well with the Layered Florals 3D as her background on a Boho Blue card base.
Maria W shared a paper saving tip with this Bee Mine Suite Collection swap card! She die cut the Sweet Sorbet die from her layer and covered it with DSP – saves paper and makes the card lighter when you are adding many layers, she also cut another die from the Scalloped Contours die set from the black to use for a future card! So smart and thanks for sharing that tip – I do that too!
The last swap card for this swap session comes from Beth R. and she used the Watercolor Melon Sale-a-bration Level One stamp set for a Twisted Easel Bookfold card – I recreated this one for the January 12th, 2024 blog post with the Ice Cream Swirl bundle! I love all the extra details she put into the card to step it up! Just Kiddin’ DSP, Basics 3D Embossing Folder trio and she used a Stampin’ Spritzer on the whole watermelon after she first stamped off to give it an even more watercolor look!
Now it’s time for you to pull out your supplies and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

This Level One Sale-a-bration set that you can EARN for FREE in January and February just screams summertime doesn’t it?!

This is a simple stamps, ink paper kind of card with a simple fun fold!

Measurements:
BASE: Sweet Sorbet 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored
at 4 1/4″ and 1″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for Heartfelt Hexagon Punch

Score the Sweet Sorbet base card at 4 1/4″ and 1″. Folding the 1″ score into a mountain fold and the 4 1/4″ into a valley fold.

On the inside panel of the 1″, stamp the watermelon seeds in a random pattern with Tuxedo Black memento ink. Fold backwards so the stamped side is now on the outside of the card.
Punch a Heartfelt Hexagon out of a scrap of Basic White cardstock and stamp the half watermelon image in Sweet Sorbet ink in the lower right hand corner. Then stamp the rind in Parakeet Party ink around the watermelon pulp stamped in sweet sorbet. (I think it is easier to line up the rind image after stamping the pulp but you can stamp in any order you choose)
Stamp the hello sentiment on the upper left hand corner in Tuxedo Black Memento ink from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set.
Using a blending brush color the edges in Sweet Sorbet ink, by brushing in downward strokes off the edge of the punched cardstock.
Adhere to the stamped side of the 1″ panel.
Stamp the thinking of you stamp in Memento ink in the center of the Basic White layer, then stamp a watermelon slice to the sentiment’s right side, using sweet sorbet ink for the pulp, parakeet party for the rind and memento ink for the seeds.
Adhere to the inside of the card.
You can pull on the 1″ panel to open up this easy fun fold!

Try this with a stamp set you already own or if you love this one, place an order with the current hostess code of $50 subtotal and earn this stamp set for FREE!

Go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – swing and sway in poppy parade, crushed curry and copper clay

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope you had a great morning filled with lots of fun and I’m glad you are able to sneak away for a little crafting time!

Today’s More Color Monday Color Challenge is a very fun movement card as well!

This Swing and Sway card is inspired by fellow demonstrator Susan C. and I loved her card so i decided to make my own version with the upcoming Trusty Tools bundle in the 2024 January to April Mini Catalog and the coordinating DSP is something you can EARN FOR FREE during Sale-a-bration coming in January and February!

Measurements:
BASE: Poppy Parade CS 5 1/2″ x 10 1/4″
scored at 4 1/4″, 7 1/4″ and 9″
embossed layer: 1″ x 5 1/4″
mechanism piece: 1/2″ x 2″
DSP layers: 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ and 2″ x 5 1/4″
scraps for tool cut outs
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for sentiment
Holographic Trio scrap for wrench die cut
Oxidized Copper Specialty paper: scrap for peg
board die cut

Score the 5 1/2″ x 10 1/4″ card at 4 1/4″, 7 1/4″ and 9″. Fold into a mountain fold at the 4 1/4″ score line and the 9″ score line. Fold into a valley fold at the 7 1/4″ score line.
Place the Basic White layer on the inside of the card. Fussy cut a small tool and adhere to the bottom right corner of the Basic White cardstock layer.
On the inside of the card, adhere the 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP in the second panel from the left edge.
Adhere the 3″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP on the outside of the card just to the left of the center 4 1/4″ fold.
Run the 1″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Poppy Parade cardstock through the Geometric Patterns embossing folder in the triangular pattern andadhere to the outside 1 1/4″ edge of the card.
Place a small Stampin’ Dimensional about 3/4″ from the top edge.
Die cut the 1/2″ x 2″ mechanism piece with the reinforcer circles from the Tailor Made Tags Dies set. Place the mechanism over the Stampin’ Dimensional.
Die cut the peg board out of the Oxidized Copper Specialty paper and fussy cut two tools from the DSP. Die cut the wrench out of the Holographic trio specialty paper to look like metal.
Adhere the tools to the peg board die and adhere the mechanism to the back of the peg board with the circle sticking out above the top end about 3/4 of an inch.
Peel the backing paper off of the Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

Stamp the sentiment in Copper Clay ink on a 1/2″ strip of Basic White paper.

Punch the sentiment piece with the Banners pick a punch and adhere to the Stampin’ Dimensional.
Because the sentiment piece is only adhered to the Stampin’ Dimensional and the peg board die piece hangs freely around the Stampin’ Dimensional inbetween the peg board piece and the card it hands and swings and sways with ease!
Such a fun and interactive card!

Try this fun fold movement card with what you have in your stampin’ stash!

Now go and create a fun card of your very own – one stamp at a time!
