creating a simple sale-a-bration card

creating a simple sale-a-bration card

Have you ever REALLY looked at the bottom of page 22 in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog? There are 22 card layout samples and there is so much inspiration in these little blocks!

Today’s blog post is a very simple stamps, ink, paper card made with a sneak peak DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog available January 7th!
For those customers that received their catalogs in the mail on page 11 of the 2025 Sale-a-bration catalog you will see the 12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ beautiful floral paper that you can earn for FREE with a $60 purchase.
I used the last layout design on page 22 and designed a simple stamping card with this DSP taking center stage! The awesome part of this card is that it uses a 4″ square so you could make 9 cards from one sheet of DSP. One pack of this FREE DSP could make 108 of these cards!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
DSP: 4″ square cut diagonally

You will notice that if you look at the card layout on page 22 there are two squares and a sentiment strip in between. Now here is the fun part! You can take this layout as a springboard and tweek it – it is ONLY a starting point! I decided to use the Designer Series paper as the “two squares” and eliminate the extra rectangular layer.
You can cut the DSP square anyway you choose I started about an inch down from the top of the DSP and cut diagonally to just about 2/3 of the way down on the opposite side.
I laid the DSP pieces on the card front and positioning them so that the borders on the sides and top are even I lightly drew a pencil mark along the diagonal edges.
I then pushed the DSP away and in between the top and bottom pencil marks I stamped the sentiment and the flowers from a level two Sale-a-bration set called Heart Shaped Bundle (comes with stamps and coodinating dies! FREE with a $120 purchase) in Berry Burst ink.
I stamped the leaves in Shaded Spruce ink around the floral images.
Adhere the top and bottom Designer Series paper pieces to the card front allowing the sentiment and floral stamped patterns to “peek” through the diagonal space in between them.
Wrap the white ribbon around the bottom front of the card edge and tie in a knot.

Such a fun and simple stamped card!

Look on page 22, pick out a layout and use it as a starting point for your card. Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

dainty flowers sale-a-bration dsp triple panel card

dainty flowers sale-a-bration dsp triple panel card

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and spend lots of time with loved ones – family and friends! I had a chance to get out in the snow last night and take some night pictures of our tree on the dock – it was very cold but worth the trek through the snow!
I thought a nice spring flower card today to warm things up and get everyone excited for the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog that starts January 5th! Current hostess code from now until the middle of January = SWXBZUH9!
Measurements:

Starry Sky card stock 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″, 3-3/4″ x 4″, scrap piece for matte
Old Olive card stock 4″ x 5-1/4″ ¼” x 4” scrap for Matte
Whisper White card stock (inside of card) 4″ x 5-1/4″, scrap piece for sentiment piece
Dainty Flowers DSP 3-3/8″ x 3 3/4″ cut into three 1-1/8″ x 3 3/4″ strips

Evenly space and adhere the DSP on the 3-3/4″ x 4″ Starry Sky card stock. Tip: to more easily space the three panels adhere the left one, then the right one and adjust the spacing for the middle one last.)
Adhere the panel to the Old Olive card stock. Place a length of Starry Sky Metallic ribbon under the Old Olive layer before adhering it to the card base.
Wrap the Starry Sky ribbon around the bottom of the panel and tie a bow.
Stamp the thank you sentiment from the Something Fancy set in Starry Sky ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.
Cut out the sentiment using the 3 smallest circle in the Stylish Shapes dies and the next larger circle in Old Olive CS and the next largest circle in Starry Sky card stock. Adhere the two colored circles to the card under the ribbon. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals pop up the Basic White circle and attach it to the sentiment mattes on the card above the ribbon. (I off-centered the circles for visual interest!)
Attach 3 Milky Dots to the card.
Adhere the Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card. Attach the strip of Old Olive CS strip if desired.
Such an easy way to use some of that beautiful FREE paper! Cannot wait to show you all of the fun merchandise you can earn for FREE during 2023 Sale-a-bration starting January 5th!

beautifully happy and 2023 sale-a-bration sneak peak

beautifully happy and 2023 sale-a-bration sneak peak

Sale-a-bration 2023 is right around the corner and although I was signed up for our OnStage in person event in October and didn’t get to go…I still got the swag box and all the delightful goodies that demonstrators got as part of the event. Sad to have missed a Stampin’ Up! event but so excited to get the box filled with presents!
One of the best things about live events is the creative energy of being with like-minded people and if you love to stamp or craft this is YOUR kind of crowd! Sale-a-bration will be a great time to join this company and a great team of people – if you are interested let me know and I can tell you about all of the benefits!
The swag box was designed with one of the 24 patterns in the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ DSP that coordinates with the Fancy Flora Suite Collection, a beautiful Soft Succulent colored shoulder bag with a Stampin’ Up! tag inside and the words Stampin’ Up! embossed on the outside flap, a notebook, a decorative coordinating pen, and a set of trading pins!
Participants also got two stamp sets.
One of the stamp sets I received as an OnStage participant was the Level Two Sale-a-bration set called Beautifully Happy and below are pictures of the swag box and contents and the cards I am beginning to make with the fun set!
This card pictured below is a collage of flowers in Sweet Sorbet and leaves in Granny Apple Green inks. The sprinkle of dots from a small background stamp in the set is stamped in Mango Melody and fills in the white space beautifully! The sentiment and the smaller flower stamp are stamped on the 1″ x4″ piece of Sweet Sorbet in Tuxedo Memento black ink and adhered to the card front above the flower layer cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ on a sweet Sorbet card base. The card is finished off with Matte Black Dots as accent pieces.
For this card below I took 1/2 inch strips and lightly swirled color above the strips in Sweet Sorbet then Mango Melody then Granny Apple Green then repeated. Then a small focal stamped image is repeated over and over again.
Cut perpendicular to the stripes created with the Blending Brushes in 1/2″ strips and save then in the order they were cut. Starting on the right side of the card front adhere the first strip to the outside right edge and against the bottom edge. Moving about a 1/16th of an inch away from the first strip adhere the second strip even with the top edge of the card front making sure it was straight. Adhere the third strip the same as the first and the fourth the same as the second alternating this pattern until the end.
Adhere a 1/2″ strip of Basic black to the bottom 1/3 of the card and adhere a smaller strip of Basic White that has been stamped in Sweet Sorbet. Add Black Matte Dots to complete the look!
Stamp the larger flower image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and using the flower and leaf stamps ink the sections on the flower – doing this for this stamp set is easy! With photopolymer stamps it is so easy to see where the stamp needs to go! I created a soft warm background with a blending brush and the sweet sorbet ink, added a sentiment and some Matte Black Dots for a stamps, ink ,paper simple stamping one layer card!
This card pictured below also used Blending Brushes in Sweet Sorbet on top, Mango Melody in the middle and Granny Apple Green almost to the bottom leaving a little white space. I stamped the larger flower image around the outside of the Basic White cardstock layer in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and added a sentiment and a angled die cut from the Something Fancy die set, and some Matte Black Dots to finish this colorful card with!
This will be one of the cards we will be doing January 25th at the next Conneaut Lake Library class! Sign-Ups will start about a month before and there will be a cap so call the library right after Christmas!
This is one of my favorites from this batch and it is a CASE from the mini Sale-a-bration catalog, I was inspired by the focal point in one of the cards on page 13 of the new catalog and so I used this iamge as a starting point and changed the color palette and the size of the cards, added a layer and an embossing folder – and out of the CASE card I developed my very own piece of artwork and so can you – one stamp at a time! Go try it today!
