Old Olive scraps for die cut leaves

Die cut a small square die from the Stylish Shapes die set.
Stamp in Smoky Slate ink the smaller rose from the Stippled Roses stamp set.
Using the Stampin’ Blends first color in the leaves with the Old Olive light marker.
Using the shading marks drawn on the stamped image highlight the darker areas with the dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker.
Go over the entire leaf image with the light marker once more to blend the colors.
Using the Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends marker color the rose.
Highlight the dark shaded areas with the dark Calypso Coral marker.
Blend the rose with the light marker over the whole rose area and stamp the Hapy Mother’s Day sentiment from the Stippled Roses stamp set in Calypso Coral ink onto the square die.
Score the 5 1/2″ square piece of Calyspo Coral cardstock at 3/4″, 1 1/2″ and 3 1/2″ and bend into mountain fold at the 3/4″, valley fold at the 1 1/2″ fold and mountain fold again at the 3 1/2″ fold. Score the 3″ 8 1/2″ piece at 4 1/4″ and 8″ and fold 4 1/4″ into a mountain fold and the 8″ score line to a valley fold. Adhere the 2 1/2″ piece of DSP to the 2 3/4″ basic White piece and adhere to the larger panel of the 3″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock.
Score the 2″ x 7″ piece at 3 1/2″ and 6 1/2″ and fold 3 1/2″ into a mountain fold and the 6 1/2″ score line to a valley fold. Adhere the 1 1/2″ piece of DSP to the 1 3/4″ basic White piece and adhere to the larger panel of the 2″ x 7″ piece of cardstock.
Place a strip of adhesive on the backside edges of both pieces of cardstock and adhere to the outside edges of the scored 5 1/2″ square.
Die cut the small rose and pop up on STampin’ Dimensionals and add to the lower portion of the smaller step.
Die cut two leaf sprigs from the Stippled Roses dies.
Pop up the sentiment onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere the leaf dies to the upper and lower sides diagonally and adhere to the larger step panel.
I added both Brushed Brass butterflies and Iridescent Pearls to this Mother’s Day card to make it extra special for that extra Special person in everyone’s life!

more color mondays – wild wheat, lost lagoon and pool party

more color mondays – wild wheat, lost lagoon and pool party

Not only is it another More Color Monday but it is also a sneak peak at another fabulous 2024 Sale-a-bration 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper offering for Level One. That means starting January 4th, for every $50 spent you can earn one Level One item offered in the Upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog and if you are already a customer of mine you will be getting one in the mail soon along with the new 2024 January to December Mini catalog!
The awesome thing about Designer Series Paper is that the concept artists at Stampin’ Up! have already done all the work for you – not only in designing gorgeous DSP but the color coordination that Stampin’ Up! is famous for.
I picked three of the colors in this new DSP and ran with it for today’s color challenge! Wild Wheat, Lost Lagoon and Pool party take center stage for today’s More Color Monday sneak peak!

Measurements:
BASE: Pool Party CS 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
DSP 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ – cut at 1″ and 2 3/4″
Scraps of Basic white for stamp and die cutting
and sentiment piece
Lost Lagoon scraps for dies & sentiment matte

Most of the time Stampin’ Up! coordinates the A and B sides of their Designer Series Paper so if you cut and flip you can use both sides together and the color coordination is perfect!
This is a cut and flip card – take the two 1″ x 5 1/4″ strips and adhere them to the outside edges of the card front leaving an equal 1/8″ border on top, bottom and outside edges.
Adhere the opposite side of the DSP to the middle leaving an even border on all sides.
Such an easy and dramatic start to the card!
Place a strip of tape on the card across the area you want to place your sentiment piece.
Cut about 10-12 inch piece of the new Faux Leather Trim (which you will see in the upcoming mini catalog in the Nature’s Sweetness suite) and adhere in a loopy back and forth pattern.
Stamp the sentiment from the coordinating stamp bundle Stippled Rose in Lost Lagoon and matte onto coordinating Lost Lagoon card stock.
Adher with Stampin’ Dimensionals on top of the Leather Trim accent.
Die cut a few of the sprigs from the Stippled Rose die set and stamp in Pool Party the leaf sprig twice from the Stippled Rose stamp set and die cut. I cut one of these stamped leaf sprig in half to better accommodate my design.
Arrange the sprigs under the sentiment piece to your liking and adhere using mini glue dots
Add Adhesive-Backed milky Dots to finish off the card in perfect color coordination and your More Color Monday card is complete!

Just a reminder this is a sneak peak post so not all of the products mentioned are available until January 4th so the picture links below will not contain these items!

Try your hand at this easy DSP card in the meantime and plan on seeing some of these great new products first hand in January at my Sale-a-bration Open House. If you are new to me and do not already have a demonstrator and would like some new catalogs, message me from this website or directly at nataliestamps@aol.com.

favored flowers cards – sale-a-bration 11 days left

favored flowers cards – sale-a-bration 11 days left

When I first saw this paper in the Sale-a-bration catalog I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not!
But then I got it for FREE and started playing with it and it really makes stunning cards!

Here are some of the cards I have made using this paper! Remember Sale-a-bration ends at the end of this month and all the FREE merchandise goes away. The original offerings as well as the add ons!

My first card sample is one of the cards we will be making at this coming Wednesday’s card class at the Margaret Shontz Public Library in Conneaut Lake, PA there are still spaces available you can call Ruth at the library at 814-382-6666 to RSVP and reserve your spot to make 2 cards for $5 or 4 cards for $10!
I used the Timeworn Type embossing folder and the center focal piece is a 2 1/2″ x 4″ piece of Favored Flowers Sale-a-bration DSP. This lovely DSP is filled with bold flower images in Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink on Basic Black backgrounds for flowers and colors that pop off the page!

This second card is a similar layout with a different shaped Stylish Shapes die sentiment piece.
This next sample was featured in Wednesday’s blog post from all the swap cards I received. This one from Denise W. and deserved a second look! This offset gate fold card features two sides of this gorgeous paper on either side of the opening!
This card is a CASE from Pinterest it is a segmented DSP card and I loved the look so I made one of my own!

Measurements:
Blackberry Bliss base: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
Calypso Coral layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: 3 3/8″ x 4 3/4″

Cut the bottom 1 1/8″ off.
cut that piece to two separate pieces one square 1 1/8″ and the other will be 2 2/8″ x 1 1/8″ Cut 1 1/8″ off the left edge and cut a 1 1/8″ square from the top of that piece. With the remaining rectangle cut the lower 1 1/8″ off and the cut the remaining rectangle in half at 1 1/8″
See the diagram below for the cuts.

Here are the cuts on the DSP and it is important to keep them in orde.
With multipurpose glue start at the top left hand corner and leaving an 1/8″ edge on the paper start to glue down the DSP. The Multipurpose glue will allow some “wiggle” room to straighten and maneuver the DSP into place.
Finish gluing down the rest of the segments of DSP in order so the pattern lines up. This will leave a small border on the right hand side. Stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set.
Add Matte Black dots around the sentiment. Add Pale Papaya ribbon to the top of the card to complete it!
This card I fussy cut one edge of the DSP to outline the flowers. I adhered it to the back side of the flower patterns are subtle geometric print.
This last card made with the Favored Flowers FREE DSP is a book binding card. I adhered the more subtle Fresh Freesia pattern to the book binding closure and the more bold patter to the card front on the right! I added Fresh Freesia ribbon to the book binding closure and a sentiment piece and Matte Black Dots to that sentiment.
Love this new bold DSP paper more than I thought I would – Remember just 10 more days to earn this paper and many other items during Sale-a-bration.
