more color mondays – crumb cake, granny apple green and parakeet party

This Floating Triple Diamond Accordian card is clearly a WOW card and today’s More Color Mondays color challenge is perfect as a goodbye to the fabulous Sweet Citrus bundle!  This bundle with the Sweet Citrus stamp set, coordinating dies and hybrid embossing folder are retiring and will be gone with the start of the upcoming Annual Catalog on May 1st.

Measurements:

BASE:  Crumb Cake (2) 4″ x 8″
scored at 2″ , 4″ and 6″

Granny Apple Green (4) 1 7/8″ x 3 3/4″, (3) 2 7/8″ squares
Parakeet Party (4) 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″, 2 3/4″ squares
Basic White (3) 2 5/8 squares

This card was inspired by Lisa C. an outstanding and kind demonstrator who is a talented and giving teacher.

Score at 2″, 4″, and 6″ on both 4″ x 8″ pieces of cardstock.
Measure the 2″ on the small side and mark on each end.
Rotate the end of each 4″ x 8″ piece and place the mark in the middle of the small edge of the papers in the cutting track with the other end of the paper at the 2″ score line in the other end of the track – cut the diagonal line from the mark to the 2″ score. Turn and cut the other side from the 2″ mark to the other side of the 2″ score line.
Using the bone folder bend the diamond ends inward.
Place the two ends together in the middle and secure the two pieces of card stock together with post it notes.
Secure the 3 Crumb Cake 2 7/8″ diamonds to the triangular points.
Adhere the Granny Apple Green 2 3/4″ diamond onto each of the Granny Apple Green square.
Emboss the 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ Parakeet Party cardstock pieces into the Sweet Citrus embossing folder. Adhere the embossed pieces to the Granny Apple Green mattes.
Fold the first diamond over revealing the first two scored panels. Adhere the matted panel to the first scored panel.
Adhere the second panel to the second scored panel.
Fold over the middle diamond and adhere the matted panel to the third scored panel.
Fold over the last diamond and adhere the last matted panel to the last scored portion of the card.
Stamp the fruit images in Parakeet Party. Stamp the rind images in Granny Apple Green.
Place in the embossing folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss. Adhere to the Parakeet Party mattes.
Adhere the stamped matted images onto the Granny Apple Green diamonds on the card.
Stamp the Have a Zesty Birthday in Granny Apple Green ink. Cut the words apart and double mount them individually on Parakeet Party and Granny Apple Green. Mount them on the diamonds.
Add Parakeet Party In Color Pearls to each diamond for bling.
I added two 1 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ Basic White panels on the middle two panels of the back of the card.
This card stands on it’s own and is a special
one to display! Try this special card for a WOW birthday card! Now go and create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time!

wanted to say in color strip background

wanted to say in color strip background

I LOVE showing you creative ways to use your things that you purchased! Instead of throwing away the strips that you cut while making cards and layers here is a creative way to use them as background paper.

If you take Adhesive Sheets this is an easy way to tie all of those scraps together to make your own designer series paper!

Lay the strips down onto the Adhesive Sheet leaving no space between the strips.
Build the paper in a pattern or randomly your choice! I chose to use a repeating pattern of the five 2022-2024 In Colors: Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Tahitian Tide in that order!
I die cut the background for the word dies from the Wanted to Say die set using the Happy Birthday sentiment. I also die cut two of the star dies.
I then die cut the Happy Birthday words in Basic Black cardstock.
Measurements for this card:
BASE: Starry Sky Card stock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer: (2) 4″ x 5 1/4″
since we are using dark card stock I add a
Basic White layer to the inside as well as the
card front
plenty of In Color 1/4″ strips
Adhesive Sheets cut to 8 1/2″
Sweet Sorbet scrap for Everyday Details circle
I die cut the medium circle from the Everyday Details die set in Sweet Sorbet and adhered the Basic Black Happy Birthday to the multicolor strip background and then mounted that onto the die to create the focal point for the card front!
I ran the first Basic White layer through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the polka dotted folder from the Basics 3D embossing folder and adhered that layer to the Starry Sky card base.
Then I mounted the focal point with Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up from the card.
I adhered two star dies to the upper and lower diagonals of the card front.
I added three Sweet Sorbet 2022-2024 In Color Pearls to the card front to finish it off nicely with coordinating embellishments.

I love the cheery effect this strip background brings to the card!

Try this with your scraps and create a beautiful card of your own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – tahitian tide, starry sky and parakeet party

more color mondays – tahitian tide, starry sky and parakeet party

Can you tell I am sad that these In Colors are retiring I want to make the most out of these colors while we still have them! Today’s More Color Monday features three of the 2022-2024 In Color Collection that will soon be gone! (insert sad face here LOL!)
This card incorporates an Blends and alcohol technique we have used before in Starry Sky, Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party.

Measurements:
BASE: Starry Sky 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer 4″ x 5 1/4″
scraps for dies
Parakeet Party scrap for sentiment die

I love the new glass mat studio, I colored with the three Stampin’ Blends markers directly onto the glass surface and sprayed with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.
I die cut the wreath from the Natural Prints die set in Basic White cardstock.
I laid the paper down on the surface and allowed time for the ink to be absorbed into the paper.
Then I just wiped the surface clean with the shammy that came with the studio.
Allow the die to dry.
I followed the die cut embossed lines in the die with the Dark Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends marker to add a little highlighting.
I die cut the medium circle from the Everyday Details die set and colored the surface with a blending brush and Starry Sky ink.
I die cut the smaller dotted circle die from the same Everyday Details die set in Parakeet Party cardstock and stamped the Hello There in Starry Sky ink from the Nature’s Prints stamp set that is on the Last Chance list! I popped up the smaller circle onto the larger one.
I did a bit of collage stamping on the Basic White layer starting with the largest image in Starry Sky ink.
I stamped the splatter image in Tahitian Tide next. Overlapping the images.
And last I stamped the fern image in Parakeet Party ink to finish off the stamping.
I cut apart the alcohol colored wreath and adhered it to the card.
I adhered the Basic White stamped layer to the Starry Sky card base.
I added the sentiment focal piece.
I added some Tahitian Tide In Color pearls to give the card a little bling!
At this point I could have been done but I decided that the card needed a little more contrast so I took my Stampin’ Blends markers to my Glass Mat Studio again, die cut another wreath and sprayed more alcohol – this time with a greater emphasis on the Starry Sky marker.
I laid the wreath on the glass and then allowed it to dry.
I ripped the sentiment focal piece off the card , adhered the starry Sky dyed wreath to the card center.
I mounted the sentiment focal piece on top of that wreath which added more contrast that I felt the card needed. What do you think?
I just thought the card needed something! Do not hesitate to change things if you do not love the outcome – you never know the second try could be so much better than the first attempt! I like my second try!
Try this color combination and if you love these colors remember they are leaving soon some of them are SOLD OUT! If you got these ink pads remember to get the ink refills before it’s too late!

Now go and create some In Color creations of your very own – one stamp and one ink pad at a time!

more color mondays – sweet sorbet, tahitian tide and parakeet party

more color mondays – sweet sorbet, tahitian tide and parakeet party

Can you tell that I am sad to see these In Colors retire? I am featuring them again this week because I know these popular colors will not last long and I want everyone that wants them to not forget to purchase them sooner than later! Today’s combination of 2022 – 2024 In Colors uses Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party.

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS 5 1.2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for the sentiment die and the
butterflies dies
Scraps of Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet and
Parakeet Party for the Basic Borders die

Die cut the cloud border in each color cardstock twice. Lay them out on the card base to determine the order that you want to adhere them in.
I decided to use Tahitian Tide ink and a Blending Brush to add color to the card front before adhering these border dies down.
I die cut the third circle from the Everyday Details dies and stamped the open Love stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then I just inked up the cursive “you” from the “you did it” stamp by carefully just inking that word on the edge of the stamp pad – this technique is called omitting! I stamped the cursive “you” below the Love stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
I colored the open letters in the three In Colors Stampin’ Blends markers.
I die cut 2 of each of the butterflies from the Meadows die set and using the brush tip side of the Stampin’ Blends I flicked them inside the cap and sprinkled ink over the butterflies to get a tri-color speckled image.
I popped up the sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it over the Basic Borders dies on the card front.
I adhered the Speckled die cut butterflies around the card.
I added the Parakeet Party In Color pearls to the card front to finish off this bright and cheery card!

If you make a card for this color challenge make sure to post it in the comment section of today’s Facebook post to share with everyone and inspire us all!

Now go and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

saying goodbye to 2022-2024 in colors

saying goodbye to 2022-2024 in colors

Saying goodbye is always difficult but when you like something it is even harder. Granted this is only paper, inks, and embellishments but in my world it’s a big deal! Every year Stampin’ Up! announces five new In Colors with the upcoming Annual Catalog and the previous In Colors from two years ago goes away! Customers have gooten so used to this that many times a popular color goes into low inventory or sells out shortly after the retiring list has been announced and it gets earlier and earlier each year. So alot of demonstrators have been pre-warning their customers to buy early to not get shut out. SO if you like these colors and want them I would recommend ordering now or soon…and if you have any of these ink pads and did not order the ink refills I would get one or two before they go away forever!
Today’s card features one of the many items in the current catalog that will be retired as it is made up either whole or partially of the current 2022-2024 In Colors! This product is so cool and I am sad that I have not placed with it before now – the 2022-2024 In Colors Textured Specialty Paper has a ribbed textured surface that has a sheen – it is super pretty.

Measurements:
BASE: Sweet Sorbet CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer: 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
scrap for the die cuts
Textured Specialty paper: 1″ x 3″ of each color

Lay the 1″ Specialty papers on the Basic White layer and choose the order and spacing for these.
Adhere each of the 1″ strips onto the Basic White layer.
Adhere the Basic White layer onto the middle of the card front. Die cut a couple of the flower and sprigs from the Meadows die set, one sentiment piece and each of the butterfly dies.
Arrange onto the top of the colored Specialty paper.
Adhere the dies with Multi-Purpose glue. Stamp the sentiment (I used the sentiment from the Color and Contour stamp set) onto the sentiment die cut in Sweet Sorbet ink. Pop Up the sentiment piece onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and place over the stems.
I added three of the Tahitian Tide In Color Pearls to finish the card. This card just makes me happy!!! Below is also a close up of the Textured Specialty paper!

Stampin’ Up! is holding our OnStage in person this year and I leave tomorrow for Houston. One of my best friends from Texas will be joining me and I am so excited to spend a few days visiting and stamping with her and the thousands of other demonstrators that will be there! This card is for her along with a few other goodies! I will be posting pictures from there and will come back with a ton of ideas and inspiration I am sure!

For now, if you have any In Colors try to make some art of your very own with these great and bright colors before they leave us! Go and create – one stamp at a time!
