Old Olive scraps for die cut leaves

Die cut a small square die from the Stylish Shapes die set.
Stamp in Smoky Slate ink the smaller rose from the Stippled Roses stamp set.
Using the Stampin’ Blends first color in the leaves with the Old Olive light marker.
Using the shading marks drawn on the stamped image highlight the darker areas with the dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker.
Go over the entire leaf image with the light marker once more to blend the colors.
Using the Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends marker color the rose.
Highlight the dark shaded areas with the dark Calypso Coral marker.
Blend the rose with the light marker over the whole rose area and stamp the Hapy Mother’s Day sentiment from the Stippled Roses stamp set in Calypso Coral ink onto the square die.
Score the 5 1/2″ square piece of Calyspo Coral cardstock at 3/4″, 1 1/2″ and 3 1/2″ and bend into mountain fold at the 3/4″, valley fold at the 1 1/2″ fold and mountain fold again at the 3 1/2″ fold. Score the 3″ 8 1/2″ piece at 4 1/4″ and 8″ and fold 4 1/4″ into a mountain fold and the 8″ score line to a valley fold. Die cut two leaf sprigs from the Stippled Roses dies.
Pop up the sentiment onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere the leaf dies to the upper and lower sides diagonally and adhere to the larger step panel.

creating ink blended backgrounds

creating ink blended backgrounds

What is my absolute favorite tool in the entire catalog – hands down it is our Blending Brushes! NO QUESTION! These super soft brushes make ink blending a breeze and I use them ALL the time.

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
Shaded Spruce layer: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
scrap of Basic White for the sentiment
scraps of Crumb Cake for the monkey punches

Pick three colors of ink – I chose Granny Apple Green, Old Olive and Shaded Spruce.

Start with the lightest color, Granny Apply Green and blend in patches over the front of the card base.

Use a fresh Blending Brush and blend additional patches of Old Olive around the card base.
Fill in the white spaces with the last color of Shaded Spruce. Frankly it will look like a hot mess and you will be tempted to throw it away LOL but be patient it will look fabulous under the Gorgeous garden die!
Take the Shaded Spruce layer and die cut the leaves die from the Gorgeous Garden die set.
Adhere the die cut to the card base.
Stamp the sentiment from the Little Monkeys stamp set in Early Espresso ink. Stamp two monkeys from the same stamp set on Crumb Cake cardstock in Early Espresso ink.
Punch out the monkeys with the Monkey Builder punch and fussy cut the sentiment out with your paper snips. These knife edged scissors are well worth the $11 asking price, they cut all the way to the tip making fussy cutting a breeze!
Arrange the monkeys and the sentiment on the die cut surface of the card front.
Adhere the monkeys with liquid glue to the die cut and pop up the sentiment in the middle with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals!

What a great and easy card! Try this technique with whatever colors you have and add a die cut over the top and see what you can create! One stamp at a time!

Adhere the Basic White layer onto the Smoky Slate card base. Place the leaves dies in alternating positions on the Basic White layer.
On a Smoky Slate torn piece of paper, stamp the Timeless Arrangement sentiment in Old Olive ink and adhere to the lower left corner of the card front.
Place 5 Iridescent rhinestones around the card and this simple way to add color to the card if a fun way to make a card pop!

This card features strips, scraps and sequins.
It is a fun way to make a card with strips and scraps.

scored at 4 1/4″
3″ x 4″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Using the 3″ x 4″ pieces of Smoky Slate and Basic White, tear the strips and adhere them to another 3″ x 4″ piece of card stock.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of cardstock to the Smoky Slate card base.
Adhere the strip piece to the card base.
Stamp the Timeless Arrangement sentiment in Old Olive, die cut the sentiment and place Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment piece. I adhered the scraps from a previous card under the sentiment piece and adhere to the card.

flap fun fold masterfully made dsp card

flap fun fold masterfully made dsp card

I cannot believe that today is the last day of June – just crazy! Today is also the last day of the 15% off Designer Series Paper sale. It is also the last day of the current hostess code TZ9Z3W2M. I have one packet left from my paper share if anyone is interested let me know! $25 for over 100 sheets of 6″ x 6″ DSP – one of each of the double sided DSP sale merchandise! So many great designs and one of my surprising favorites (didn’t think I liked it this much until I actually saw it in person and now I LOVE IT!) Masterfully Made DSP is what I chose for this fun fold card today!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 8 1/2″ x 11″
(3) 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
scraps for sentiment pieces
DSP: (1) 4″ x 5 1/4″
(1) 3″ x 5 1/4″

Score the entire sheet of cardstock at 5 1/2″ on the 11″ side and at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.
Cut the upper left hand piece out.

Cut 1/2″ off both sides of the upper right hand piece, leaving a 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ section.
I rotated my card horizontally but the card can be made either way!

I used a blending Brush on the three 1/4 sheets of Basic White cardstock, leaving lighter and darker spaces in Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst and Old Olive inks. Then I die cut the berries and flowers from the Timeless Arrangements die set from each of the pieces of card stock.

I stamped two sentiments onto scrap Basic White cardstock and die cut them with the stitched rectangle dies and stamps from the Timeless Arrangements set and gathered up all the pieces for the card making.
I opened up the flap on the inside and stamped the last sentiment onto the card base in Blueberry Bushel ink.
I added the smaller piece of DSP to the front side of the flap and adhered it down.
I adhered several Berry die cuts to the bottom of the thank you sentiment piece and adhered it to the lower portion of the flap so that the berries hung down over the flap but did not extend past the card base perimeter.
I adhered all the colored die cuts to the back of the “your kindness means everything to me” sentiment piece and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the underside and adhered it to the card front.
I finished the card with Ombre Matte Decorative Dots.
I love the surprise of the extra flap when you open up this card – an unexpected extra layer of fun.
