Today’s More Color Mondays color challenge features Pretty Peacock, Melon mambo and Poppy Parade.

There are a couple of fun techniques to this card and a SNEAK PEAK of the Boardwalk Fun Bundle.

Measurements:
BASE: Melon Mambo CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″

Adhere the Poppy Parade CS to the Melon Mambo CS base.
Color the bottom of one of the Basic White CS layers with a blending brush with Pretty Peacock ink.
Using another blending brush color the top of the Basic White layer with the Melon Mambo ink.
Color the top of the Basic White layer with a blending brush and Poppy Parade ink.
Spray the glass surface with water and pat the Basic White layer over the water covered glass and mix the watercolor onto the blended color surface.
Dry the layer with a heat tool.

Using the edge of a Versamark ink pad, swipe in lines over the top of the layer and concentrated in a small squiggle down at the bottom.

Sprinkle gold embossing powder over the versamark ink.

Heat with a heat tool until embossing powder melts.
Adhere the watercolored layer onto the card base.
Stamp Happy Birthday in Pretty Peacock ink on the second Basic White layer.

Color over the Basic White layer with the Melon Mambo and Poppy Parade blending brushes.

Die a small palm tree from the Boardwalk Fun die set from Pretty Peacock cardstock. Adhere the palm tree die to the right of the stamped sentiment.

Adhere the layer to the inside of the card.

Die cut the ferris wheel and the taller palm tree in Pretty Peacock CS.

Adhere to the middle of the colored layer on the card front. Pop up the ferris wheel on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Die cut the ferris wheel carts in Poppy Parade and Melon Mambo cardstock.

Adhere the carts onto the ferris wheel in alternating colors.

Die cut the ticket die in Melon Mambo cardstock.

Stamp the Enjoy the Ride in Melon Mambo ink onto the ticket die.

Pop up the ticket onto the card front on the lower left hand corner at the base of the Ferris Wheel dies.

I love the way this background turned out – try this watercolor and heat embossing technique.

Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time.

more color mondays – daffodil delight, coastal cabana and melon mambo

more color mondays – daffodil delight, coastal cabana and melon mambo

Welcome to More Color Mondays – today’s color challenge uses a triadic color combination from our Color Coach tool. This color wheel is actually two interconnected spinning circles that contain all of Stampin’ Up!’s basic colors on the outer wheel and an inner white circle with cut out sections that reveal different color theory color combinations!
We have four different color theory combinations available on this Color Coach Wheel:
Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary and Triadic.
Today’s combination of Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Melon mambo is a triadic color combination forming a triangular position on the wheel.

Measurements:
Basic White CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer
Daffodil Delight CS: strip scrap
Coastal Cabana CS: strip scrap
Melon Mambo CS: strip scrap

Place the large butterfly die from the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and die cut in the center of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White layer – saving both the negative and positive images.
Place the negative die cut layer and emboss it in the Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder.
On the front of the Basic White card base, brush with Blending Brushes a layer of Daffodil Delight ink on the top about an inch in from the top, then a layer of Coastal Cabana then a layer of Melon Mambo about an inch from the bottom. Place the negative space layer on top of the card base before you start to gauge the area that you will want to color and the areas you want to leave white. We only want to color the area that will be seen through the butterfly opening.
Adhere the embossed negative die layer on the card base leaving an even border around the edges of the card front.
Adhere the butterfly detail die that came from the center of the original layer and adhere with in the borders of the negative die space.
I used strip scraps of Melon mambo and Daffodil delight and adhered these strips below the die.
Stamp a sentiment onto a Coastal Cabana strip and pop up the strip on the card over the bottom of the dies and above the other colored strips.
Adhere some embellishments around the sentiment and this lovely triadic color card is complete!

Our Color Wheel is a MUST HAVE – making color combinations a snap! Try some color combinations from the color wheel on page 136 in the new catalog or better yet order your own color wheel today!

Now go and create some great color combinations for your own artwork – one stamp at a time!

friends of the ocean h spanner fun fold card

friends of the ocean h spanner fun fold card

Today’s More Color Mondays color challenge screams warm weather in hues of spring grass and sunsets of Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lime Twist.

I have seen this type of fun fold called many things – front flap fun fold card, front flap H fold, Spanner card etc. whatever you name it this is a winner… easy to replicate and make – it is an easy WOW card!

Pair this fun fold with the Friends of the Ocean Suite of products and well – I am SOOOO ready for spring and summer on the water! LOL!

Measurements:
BASE: Melon Mambo CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″, (1) 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
scraps for die cuts
Basic White CS: (4) 1 1/8″ x 4 1/8″
(2) 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″
scraps for stamping and die cutting
DSP: (4) 1″ x 4″, (1) 2 3/4″ x 4″ and
(1) 5/8″ x 5 1/2″
Lemon Lime Twist CS: scraps for die cuts

Score your base card at 4 1/4″.
Cut the front flap of the card base at 1 1/4″ from each side from the score line to the edge.
This will make a 1 1/4″ flap on each side of the card front.
Adhere the 1″ x 4″ DSP pieces to the Basic White 1 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ cardstock layers.

Adhere two on the outside of the side panels.

Adhere the 2 3/4″ x 4″ DSP piece to the 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ Basic White layer and adhere that to the middle outside flap in between the two side panels.
Adhere the other two smaller DSP panels to the inside of the card. These will go on the outside edges leaving 1/8″ border on the top, bottom and outside edge.
Adhere the other 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ Basic White layer in between the two smaller DSP layers as shown in the photo below.
Stamp the hello friend sentiment from the Ocean Friends stamp set and the bubbles across the 5/8″ x 5 1/2″ strip.
Mount to the 3/4″ cardstock strip.
Stamp the two step stampin’ crab in Melon Mambo ink – stamping the base in the ink and then stamping off on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on your cardstock – creating a lighter base image.
Stamp the detailed crab full strength in Melon Mambo ink over the base image.
Die cut the crab and adhere to the middle panel.
Die cut the small starfish in Melon Mambo cardstock and adhere around the crab.
Adhere only the ends of the cardstock strip so that the strip is ONLY attached to the side panels of the card front!
Die cut the edging die in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and some more small starfish.
Adhere under the spanner sentiment careful to only adhere to the side panels (or you will glue this fun fold closed)
Adhere the Lemon Lime Twist starfish to the card front.
Color some small pearls with Melon mambo Stampin’ Blends and adhere to the card front.
I decided I wanted a little more Calypso Coral in the card other than just in the DSP so I stamped a lobster in Calypso and adhered the tail under the spanner and the claw on the right hand side panel.
I stamped another crab on the inside middle panel of the spanner fun fold and the LOVE YOU sentiment above the image to complete the third level of the card!
A spanner card has three little layers, the crab and lobster show up when the card is completely closed but when you lift up the spanner portion of the card you get to see the crab on the middle panel without the lobster and then you pick up the middle panel and get to see the inside of the card!

Try this fun fold with a set you have in your stash! Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – melon mambo, peach pie and flirty flamingo

more color mondays – melon mambo, peach pie and flirty flamingo

This will be the final More Color Mondays Color Challenge for the 2025 Sale-a-bration catalog so I created a double fun fold card with the Heart Shaped Level Two Reward bundle in hues of Melon Mambo, Peach Pie and Flirty Flamingo taking the lead from one of the gorgeous pieces of Bloom Impressions Sale-a-bration DSP!

This double fun fold card features a hidden gate-fold card inside the card front as a sweet little surprise!

Measurements:
BASE: Melon Mambo CS: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
3″ x 4″ for front matte
scraps for die cuts
Flirty Flamingo layer: 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″
scraps for die cuts
Peach Pie CS Outside card: 3 1/4″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for die cuts
Inside DSP gate fold card: 4″ x 6″
scored at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/2″
scrap for die cut
Basic White CS inside layer: 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
scrap for die cut

Cut the Bloom Impressions DSP into a 4″ x 6″ piece.
Score at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/2″ and fold inward to create a gate fold mini card.
Cut a Basic White layer to 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and adhere three small flowers from the Heart Shaped die set in each of the More Color Monday color challenge colors of Melon Mambo, Peach Pie and Flirty Flamingo and adhere to the top of the white layer.
Stamp the “MY HEART LOVES YOUR HEART” sentiment in the middle of the layer and adhere to the inside middle panel of the DSP.
Cut the Peach Pie to 3 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and score in half on the long side at 4 1/4″.
Adhere the DSP middle panel to the inside bottom of the Peach Pie card.
Emboss the Flirty Flamingo layer in the Soft Waves 3D embossing folder and adhere to the 1/4 sheet of Melon Mambo CS as the card base.
Adhere the Melon Mambo 3″ x 4″ front matte to the outside of the Peach Pie card front.
Adhere the Peach Pie card to the center of the Flirty Flamingo layer.
I stamped the “MY thoughts OF YOU ARE ALL heart SHAPED” sentiment in Melon mambo ink in the center of a Basic White CS negative heart die from the Heart Shaped bundle.
I die cut and saved the negative space from the Heart Shaped heart die in Peach Pie, Melon Mambo and the DSP.
I decided to add these under the white negative die cut sentiment heart to make it stand out more.
This is the completed hidden gate fold card inside and out.
I die cut the Heart Shaped die in the Bloom Impressions DSP and adhered it to the Melon Mambo matte layer.
I die cut two small flowers from each cardstock color and adhered them to the lower left-hand side of the heart die.
I adhered Iridescent Pears to the center of each small flower die, and stamped the “JUST BECAUSE I CARE” sentiment to the lower right-hand side of the layer to finish the card!
I loved this color combination and how this “surprise inside” card turned out. Thanks to the original inspiration from one of our new Artisan Design Team Members Pamela B who learned this from her upline Rhonda W. I love learning from other creative demonstrators and teaching you how to do these fun cards!

Would love to see your creations using this design! Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

bloom impressions double panel z-fold card

bloom impressions double panel z-fold card

Today’s card is an easy variation on a simple Z fold fun fold card just by adding two layered panels you get an added look and lots of space to decorate and embellish!

Measurements:
BASE: Shy Shamrock CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside BASE panel
and (2) 2 1/2″ x 4″ two left BASE panels
Melon Mambo CS: (2) 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
Peach Pie CS: (2) 3″ x 4 1/4″
Basic White CS: (2) 2 3/4″ x 4″
scrap for large butterfly die

I grabbed a 4″ x 5 1/4″ scrap of Basic White and stamped the largest butterfly image from the new Beautiful Butterflies bundle in Memento Black ink.
I colored the butterfly with the Peach Pie and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends markers and then die cut the image.
PAPER SAVING TIP: Whenever you have multiple layers that will be adhered to a surface you can die cut from the middle and reduce the weight of the card and get extra embellishments and dies from the paper that would have been covered!
I die cut four detailed smaller butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies die set from the middle of the Melon Mambo layers.
(HAPPY ACCIDENT: forgot that the front layer would only be half adhered! See the results at the end LOL!)
Adhere the panel layers together and decorate as you wish.

I die cut one of the Basic White layers with the lattice die from the new Linked Together bundle.

Then I adhered and stamped and decorated with the Beautiful Butterflies bundle!

I adhered the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP to the inside BASE panel then I adhered the two smaller DSP panels to the two smaller left BASE panels.
I adhered the inside colored cardstock layered panels to the center of the back BASE panel over the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP layer.
I adhered three Sunny Day Iridescent Dots Embellishments to the front layered panel and adhered it so that it covers the panel on the inside so it is a little surprise when you open up the card!
Make sure that you only place adhesive on the left side of the panel as half the panel will be hanging off the first Z fold panel!
I adhered one last detailed small butterfly die back into the area I die cut that I forgot would not be covered OOPS! but here is my HAPPY ACCIDENT – think it looks like I meant to do it!

Hoping you can turn all of your accidents into happy ones!

Sale-a-bration is in full swing and you can earn FREE merchandise or get an awesome deal on the Starter kit!

My Open House will be moved to next Friday as I am still settling back in from vacation I realized that I did not schedule the e-mail invitation correctly and it did not send to you all! Another OOPS! In my defense my brain is still on island time!

Now go and try this fun fold whenever you get a chance – it is snowing here so that is always a good time to create! Go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
