dynamic swap cards

I love getting the mail! More times than not being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator that participates in card swaps – I find happy mail in my mail box! It is always a thrill to open up a card and discover the design that the demonstrator on the other end dreamed up! I love the surprise of it all! What stamp set was used, what techniques, the embellishments and the fun extras are all such a creative inspiration! Hopefully they are for you also and that is why I share my monthly swaps – you get to see different demonstrator’s styles and stamp sets that I do not own and creative ways to do your cards!

the first swap card is from Carol S. and she used the Earthen Textures bundle of products (#161514) is the 10% saving bundle with the stamp set and coordinating dies. The suite (#161518) contains the bundle, the Earthen Elegance DSP and the Natural Wavy Trim (#161517) used on the card.

She also used the Merry melody 3D embossing folder on the front panel (#156392).

This pretty swap card uses the Sparkling Snowflakes set from the current mini and will be a carry over product (#162158). Gale R. made the sentiment piece from the new Deckled Circles dies (#162286) another carry over product and the creative matte out of the coordinating tag for that bundle (#162164) the Sparkling Snowflakes Tag Topper!
This card is from one of my sister demonstrator side lines named Lyn L. and she used the Supremely Awesome (#161560) stamp set and the Deckled Rectangles die set (#159173) from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog!

3D memo holder

3D memo holder

I don’t usually do 3D projects – but this one is fairly simple and useful.

Measurements:
Pretty Peacock CS 10 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
7″ x 4 3/4″
2 1/4″ x 1 1/2″
DSP: 3 1/2″ x 2 1/4″
3 1/2″ x 3″

Cut the first piece of cardstock
10 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
score at 4″, 8″, 9″, 10″ score with bone folder

Cut 7″ x 4 3/4″ in Pretty Peacock, score at 4″ and 4 1/2″, turn 90 degrees and score 1/2″ from each long end.
Score on longer side at 1 1/2″ from the top of the long side to the 1/2″ score line.
Score on the longer side at 1 1/2″ from the bottom of the long side to the 1/2″ score line.
Cut at the 4″ line from the top and the bottom to the 1/2″ score line. Cut at the 4 1/2″ line from the top and the bottom to the 1/2″ score line. Cut away a small triangle from either side to make a tab as shown on the pattern in the photo.
Take the longer piece of Pretty Peacock – score at each of the score lines. Place a line of Tear & Tape on the 1/2″ end piece.
Fold over the 4″ score and adhere the 1/2 inch fold to the end of the 4″ side of the fold. The finished product will look like the photo below.
Place the Tear & Tape on the two long side tabs and the two small tabs on the backside of the memo holder.
Adhere the 3 /12″ x 3″ on the larger inside panel.
Fold the smaller panel upward and adhere the 3 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ to the outside panel.
Remove the Tear & Tape release paper and adhere the sides of the memo box.
The completed box will look like this.
Score a 2 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ piece of cardstock at 1/2″ and 1″. Place a piece of Tear & Tape on each 1/2″ scored edge. Remove the release paper and pinch the two edges together. Place the folded paper inside the box along one side making a smaller box inside the larger box.
Place the Tear & Tape around the front of the easel. Release the paper and stick the memo holder onto the easel.
Place the memos in the box and the pen in the smaller box.
The smaller front piece is the perfect place for a small calendar or my business card.

This is a wonderful 3D project, useful and easy!

I hope you try this 3D project, go create a piece of artwork on your own, one stamp at a time.

double stepped pop out card

double stepped pop out card

This is a great fun fold for a special occasion! It is rather simple but the extra layer and mechanism make it extra special!

This Double Stepped Pop Out card was inspired by several versions I saw on pinterest and I adapted the measurements to my own version!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at
4 1/2″ and 2 1/8″ for a typical Z fold format
Boho Blue CS: (2) 2″ x 5 1/4″ embossed
DSP: inside piece 4″ x 5 1/4″
outside piece 2 1/2″ x 1/4″ for above words and 2 1/4″ x 2″ for under the word (these measurements will vary based on sentiment size)
Basic White: front piece: 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
inside step: 3″ x 4 1/2″
inside pop up mechanism 4″ x 3 3/4″
Berry Burst: 2 3/4″ x 4″
Lost Lagoon: 3″ x 4 1/4″

Emboss the two Boho Blue cardstock pieces with the Basics 3D embossing folder. Adhere the (2) 2″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Boho Blue embossed cardstock to the smaller 2 1/8″ scored sections of the Z fold. Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP piece to the inside of the card as shown below.
Score the 3 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock every 3/4″. Use the bone folder and burnish the score lines and adhere the fifth section to the first section making a box.
Adhere the box in the middle of the card against the inside score line – first adhering to the back of the card against the DSP.
Add adhesive to the left portion of the square and adhere to the left inside of the card by closing the card front down over the square.
Stamp the outside sentiment onto the smaller Basic White cardstock piece in the center upper portion and adhere the dsp sections around the sentiment. Adhere the white cardstock to the Berry Burst cardstock and adhere the Berry Burst section to the Lost Lagoon.
Stamp the larger white cardstock with the inside sentiment and leave at least an 1/8″ from the right edge so that the sentiment doesn’t peek out when the card is closed.
Adhere to the middle of the square pop out mechanism with Stampin’ Seal adhesive.
Close the card and place the front sentiment piece so that it is evenly bordered with the middle pop out section and adhere to the outermost Z fold section.
I added some Opaque adhesive backed Gems to the front sentiment piece and this is the finished card from a variety of angles!
Such a fun card and an easy fun fold!

Hope this inspired you to try it out and go and create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!

flap fun fold masterfully made dsp card

flap fun fold masterfully made dsp card

I cannot believe that today is the last day of June – just crazy! Today is also the last day of the 15% off Designer Series Paper sale. It is also the last day of the current hostess code TZ9Z3W2M. I have one packet left from my paper share if anyone is interested let me know! $25 for over 100 sheets of 6″ x 6″ DSP – one of each of the double sided DSP sale merchandise! So many great designs and one of my surprising favorites (didn’t think I liked it this much until I actually saw it in person and now I LOVE IT!) Masterfully Made DSP is what I chose for this fun fold card today!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 8 1/2″ x 11″
(3) 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
scraps for sentiment pieces
DSP: (1) 4″ x 5 1/4″
(1) 3″ x 5 1/4″

Score the entire sheet of cardstock at 5 1/2″ on the 11″ side and at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.
Cut the upper left hand piece out.

Cut 1/2″ off both sides of the upper right hand piece, leaving a 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ section.
I rotated my card horizontally but the card can be made either way!

I used a blending Brush on the three 1/4 sheets of Basic White cardstock, leaving lighter and darker spaces in Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst and Old Olive inks. Then I die cut the berries and flowers from the Timeless Arrangements die set from each of the pieces of card stock.

I stamped two sentiments onto scrap Basic White cardstock and die cut them with the stitched rectangle dies and stamps from the Timeless Arrangements set and gathered up all the pieces for the card making.
I opened up the flap on the inside and stamped the last sentiment onto the card base in Blueberry Bushel ink.
I added the smaller piece of DSP to the front side of the flap and adhered it down.
I adhered several Berry die cuts to the bottom of the thank you sentiment piece and adhered it to the lower portion of the flap so that the berries hung down over the flap but did not extend past the card base perimeter.
I adhered all the colored die cuts to the back of the “your kindness means everything to me” sentiment piece and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the underside and adhered it to the card front.
I finished the card with Ombre Matte Decorative Dots.
I love the surprise of the extra flap when you open up this card – an unexpected extra layer of fun.
Try this fun fold soon and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
